I just saw the episode where Crichton goes back to Earth but its not real. In the episode the Earth people cant understand Rygel, D'Argo or Aeryn. But toward the end of the episode Aeryn stops before leaving the room with Crichtons father (the ancient) and says some words to him.
Does this story continue in future episodes? Having come in late in the series mid season 3, I dont recall many references with the ancients other than the wormhole episode.
But why would Aeryn speak with him? Aeryn = contracted by Ancients to watch Crichton?
Just wondering if anyone else had some insights

I think the scene your talking about Aeryn turns and says something in sebacean. Jack says "thanks aeryn sun." The look she gave was because Humans are not supposed to understand her language but Jack did. I remember the scene because I then new that John and crew really were not on earth. Just my personal opinion.

heh heh, when I saw it I thought that AncientJack had inadvertantly said something that actually made sense to what Aeryn had said. (Although why he might be thanking Aeryn I could never puzzle out. Perhaps for being a friend to Crichton?) And, if he really was thanking Aeryn in response to something she said, then she should've figure out that something was up, and yet she didn't. Or didn't seem to. I don't know, it's all too much for my pointy little head.

I think Aeryn did know something was going on, because she seemed kind of startled when he said thank you. She just didn't say anything, probably assuming that he just guessed what she might be saying.

I always just thought he said it to be polite. But that's just me. He said it sorta hesitantly, and probably only because that was the first thing Aeryn had said to him that hadn't been hostile and while pointing a gun at him.

Of course the Ancient/Jack knew what she was saying.
Aeryn was pretty much up to her eyeballs in terms of why Jack did anything. She expected Jack to sell them out, remember, and he didn't, so while she was surprised, she had been surprised by a lot of stuff. I doubt she had a clue as to what was really going on.
Loved the scene, though.

Human Reaction is the basis for the rest of the series. John gets wormhole knowledge stuck in his head, the rest is history.

I always assumed he said that in response to her 'putting the gun down' as she said what she said. He was thanking her for not shooting/pointing a gun at him any longer.

The ancient knew what she was saying, but I took it as her reaction to Human empathy. I didn't know what she was saying, but I know it had something to do with gratitude based on body language.
I don't think it's that significant as to whether it tipped her off in some way. She wasn't suspicious even when Crichton went nuts at the newsstand.

Human Reaction sets up - as someone already mentioned - the plot for seasons 2 through 4, and probably the rest of the show after that (here's hoping).
I won't spoil anything for you, but you definitely want to watch the Nerve/Hidden Memory two-parter later in season 1 and the Infinite Possibilities two-parter in season 3 (Ancient Jack returns in that one).

From the AHR production script, what Aeryn said (in Sebacean) was something like "John said I could trust you. He was right." That is what Ancient Jack was thanking her for - letting him know she'd been wrong about him.

Yeah I just figured that Aeryn thanked him for giving them a place to hide.

The way I took that exchange was that she made the comment to him, not expecting a response, let alone an appropriate reply. You could see in her face that she didn't expect it and was a little thrown off guard by it but not enough to give it much further thought. Her intentions were for the both of them to get away. It was our first obvious clue as a viewer that something was up. The other subtle clues were that everything in print and any knowlege of world events by anyone John talked to were 7 months old or older. For example "who won the Super Bowl" question. The clues finally catch up to John when he starts to recognize that all the people around him were people he knew but mostly out of context and then at the News stand he realizes everything is 7 months old.

I have to admit, I like this episode , also. But the thing I liked about it was not only that John goes to ( what we thought to be ) Earth, again. But also I like that we hear the aliens speak in their native tongue as we did in the " Premiere " episode. I hope that there is more of this in the later episodes ?
Sincerely,
