Sorry if this has already been posted. I've been really busy this weekend. A fellow Scaper emailed this to me this weekend. I missed it unfortunately...but let's have hope that this happens!!!!
Here's the link (scroll down to question #6):

And the question asked???
Question No. 6: Painted CD-ROM tray
Heather from Ferndale, Michigan, wants to know about painting the tray inside her CD-ROM drive. Specifically, is that a bad idea? Patrick and Leo believe it can be done, but it must be done very carefully. First, she'll need to remove the front panel, or bezel, by prying it from the little clips on the side. Then she'll need to open the drive (usually a matter of removing four screws). Then she need to remove the tray from the rest of the drive so she can paint it. It needs to be separated from the drive to avoid any chance of getting paint on the lens inside the drive. Paint on the lens equals nonworking paperweight instead of CD-ROM drive. Unfortunately, extracting the tray will be slightly different for every model of drive, so she'll have to experiment.
For the actual painting, she needs to be careful about the kind of paint she uses. Many paints will melt the plastic or create a permanent sticky mess. Fortunately, Krylon makes a paint called Fusion that's made specifically for painting on plastic. If she uses Fusion and properly primes the plastic, her tray painting dreams can be realized. Heather wants to make a Farscape-inspired Scorpious box. If she succeeds, we'll invite her to be on "The Screen Savers."
Also, they've linked the word Farscape to www.farscape.com
:D
Shall we email or no?
