OK, G got busy and gave me a quick accounting of what he spent for the gift-basket:
$22.51 for balloons (Alin's Party Store)
$41.44 for craft supplies (Michael's)
$31.36 for labeling and craft supplies (Office Depot)
$203.14 for food and beverage (Trader Joe's)
$23.00 for bath crystals (Points of Light)
$21.27 for "John" & "Aeryn" jars, packaging, etc. (Big Lots)
Sums up to: $342.72! Which is within $2 of the donations we received (we lost some money to what paypal charges)! Well done G and thanks again for the wonderful job the two of you did on those baskets, they were unbelievable!!!
And can I get a HELL YEAH!!!!! for all those who donated their hard earned cash?!?!
Good luck to London and NYC!!!
Love and Peace and HELL YEAH!!!!!

Guzman, do you think you could pretty please, if you remember, be kind enough to list some of the champaignes, chocolates, and goodies that you bought, either here or over in the NYC office thread? If you know the prices, that'd be cool too.
We've got a wonderful team together, everyone is working hard, price comparing - trying to get the best deals, and figuring out what is best to get for our amount of money. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
We have located a Trader Joes! (actually a few) but I also found a discount liquor store, and we have a BJ's, Cost Co, etc.
Last night I bought the Muppet finger puppets everyone was talking about.
Scapers are the best people in the world!
~Chaym, trying to get out of doing laundry today...

Are the UK and NYC baskets funded? If not, how are contributions made? This whole thing is too cool not to complete in the style already demonstrated. Hell Yeah!!!!!

We currently have $365, which I think is enough for NY, but I'll definately yell for help if it isn't. :D
Hey G, while you're at the accounting, do you happen to have the labels for the crystals? I'd say email them to me, but Chaym is the one doing the crystals. hm....I guess that's OK. I can forward them on to her. Thanks!

is funded and we will have money left over! :D
I'm holding back until after it's delivered just to make sure all expenses are covered. For instance I'm going to pay for the taxi to get the baskets to Hensons as my delivery team don't have a car.. plus driving and parking in London is a nightmare..! I can't expect the three girls to haul two huge baskets plus a third full of bottles of champagne on the tube! :rollin:
When I'm done I'll chuck over any extra next week to the NYC one-or if it's too late I can donate it to the where's my riot fund..

Brian Henson's secretary saying he was so happily surprised that he'll write a thank you card at some point: priceless

Chaym, I am guessing that you meant to ask me (rather than Guzman) about line item costs.
There were thirty food and beverage items. Seven were beverages.
Perrier Jouet Grand Brut $24.99
Champagne Trouillard Brut $12.99 (5 ea.)
Warsteiner Pilsner mini-keg $12.99
Sparkling Lemon Refresher $2.49
Norfolk Fruit Punch Spritz $2.99
Ariel Brut Dealcoholized $5.99
Sparkling Apple Cider $1.69 (2 ea.)
After that, it was 23 comestible items. They ranged from assorted crackers (many from Australia), small breads, cheeses, small salamis, chocolates and other savories and sweets. Prices ranged from $5.98 for hazelnut seashell chocolates down to $1.49 for corn-sesame tortilla flatbreads. The idea was to create a feast, and it turned out to be a (barely) sort of Moveable Feast.
Bath crystals came from Points Of Light (www.pointsoflight.com); khyphri, frankincense, rose, cinnamon and jinx chaser were the scents, one lb. each. I used more khyphri and frankincense than the other "colors." The two packages used 4.1 lbs total, not counting the metallic oxided spheres (okay, marbles) I added to the mix to gain more texture and volume.
I found rather fragile Chinese-made jars in the shape of laboratory reagent bottles; they are at a chain here called Big Lots. If you can't find a source, I can probably ship some to you - but be warned that they are thin and not at all elastic, as better glass would be.
The labels were done in PageMaker 6 on Macintosh. I can convert to .pdf and send them to you, if that would be helpful. I'm short on time these days for recreating them in Paint or PhotoShop. I described and drew our method of anchoring and stabilizing the engagement ring in "Aeryn"'s jar for Brit Angie; I can send it to you, as well. If you want to give me measurements after you get your jars, I can re-size my work for you accordingly.
If you have further requirements, e-mail them to me at skyehound at Ehh Ohh ELL dawt kom.

On behalf of the NYC basket crew, I'd like to thank the LA basket crew for a job well done, for thinking this up, for helping us out, and for willing to go out and fight the good fight! hehehe
Thank you, gurnemanz for the list of foods and beverages. I'm in charge of that so I greatly appreciate it! :joy:
And thanks to Twich for being the greatest phone goddess ever! Does she need a little shrine or what? LOL
Good luck to the UK basket folk! Can't wait to hear how it turns out!

How 'bout an award like a little, bronzed, old rotary-style phone... and we'll call it the Twichy Award. :D :D :D
