Hey-dy hi-dy ho! The Phone Goddess struck again with a follow up call to our baskets...wanna hear what they had to say?

Well, I actually called yesterday to get the person I had worked with last week. I spoke with him briefly, but he said that he didn't have a clue if any baskets had been delivered and he would have to check and call me back. Well.....he never did. And I was a little panicked about the whole thing. :help: I mean...he didn't even KNOW if 60 lbs of champagne arrived????? Wow.

Well, I called back today and just flat out asked the receptionist. Seems that she didn't know EITHER. :eh: So now I'm getting really nervous. I mean...we KNOW T and G delivered it. We saw pictures right? Did T steal our money and run? Fake pictures just to make us think she was legit? :flee: (LOL) So now my stomach is in knots and the receptionist says "Let me transfer you."

"Hi. How can I help you?" :hi:

"Hi. I'm calling from the Save Farscape campaign."

"Oh hello! How are you?" :)

"Fine thanks. You?"

"Good."

"I was just calling...well..last Friday we had some people come and drop off some baskets and..." :bgift:

"Yes, we got them. Brian just adored it." :eek4: Silence while I swallow hard.

"Brian?"

"Yes. He's been meaning to write you all a proper thank you note, but things have been so crazy around here." :thud: :thud: :thud:

"Oh. He doesn't need to do that. Really. We were just so excited to have this news. It's so wonderful!" :joy:

"Thank you! It means so much to us that you have all done this. I can't believe how beautiful this all is. In fact, I'm staring at the balloons right now and they're just lovely!"

"Thank you! We did get to see pictures. The folks who delivered the baskets put pictures on -ine because they wanted everyone to see what they had donated to." :D

"Donated?"

"Oh yes. It didn't take much. Everyone was so excited about this that the donations came in from all over the world. In fact, we're working on a basket for the New York office and the one in the UK too." :squish:

"You are?" Amazement. "That's just...it's...incredible!" :aok:

"We just wanted to express how wonderful we felt the news was. We all felt like a member of our own family had come home. It's been a real shot of excitement for the campaign as a whole. We're all thrilled beyond belief."

"Well, we've been touched by your thoughtfulness. It's just wonderful. And like I said, Brian was blown away by this entire thing. He really appreciated it. And at some point, I'm sure he'll write you a thank you note. It's just been so busy around here." :train:

"We totally understand. We just wanted to make sure it got to you."

"Well, it did and the baskets are right here. Thank you very much."

Little more chit chat...wonderful lady. Very happy.

SO...our baskets have been given DIRECTLY TO BRIAN HIMSELF. WAY TO GO SCAPERS!!!!!!!

That's fantastic Twich. :joy:

I sent them a small congratulatory note yesterday and casually mentioned the greetings from www.SaveFarscape.com we sent last week. Thought you might like to see their reply.

Dear (my name),

Thanks from all of us at the Jim Henson Company for the smile and your good wishes. Over the years our company’s team of performers, producers, writers, and artists has created productions and products that have made a difference in people’s lives. What we've produced has been achieved with integrity, creativity, and a respect for our audience and our history. We thank you once again for your continued support, we truly appreciate your commitment to our Company.

Oh, and by the way, I don't know if anyone else got a response from Henson but I just did. I sent an email to fanmail@henson.com the day the news came out saying how happy we were for them and all. I just got this reply. It's pretty bland, but considering it took almost a week for it to come I figure they had a LOT of them to send.

Dear (real me),

Thanks from all of us at the Jim Henson Company for your good wishes. What an absolutely awesome idea! http://216.40.249.192/s/otn/party/party.gif I'm always ready for a fun party! And this sounds perfect!

That would be great cause this Farscape at midnight is like, "We have to show it but let's do it when nobody will really watch," deal.

well, you know Kansas is very appropriate to have a Scaper party, but we could think about the East Coast, then the UKers & Euros could jump across the pond and party with us. After all, this has been an international movement! And let's not forget THE AUSSIES!!!

hmmmm...maybe Kansas would be best after all! Central between Europe and Australia!

What's the name of that town in Kansas that is the geographical center of the US? I could swear it was in Kansas.

That party better have a Wizard of Oz theme, too. We will have to get a dance floor painted like a yellow brick road!

A big hats off to all who perpetrated and funded the basket caper! And I bow (hat still off) to Twich, master of all telecom that she surveys! What a cool outcome, with Brian sipping the Scaper champagne. Much happiness!

'boo, the geographic center of the contiguous US is Lebanon, KS. Not to my knowledge a big party town. Not to my knowledge a big town, period. Population <400, I think.

Kansas, though, is a good choice, IMHO!

How do you think Lawrence would serve as a good place to convene, Shipscat? Small-town feel, big town amenities. An hour from a major airport. A good Scaper destination, you think?

Shipscat
05-15-2003, 12:48 PM
And if it's the center of the country, it must be the center of the world, and thus the known universe!

(sorry, a little geographical centrism just creeped in)

Lawrence is so cool. I love Lawrence- wish I was there right now. Actually, I'm going to try to come up this weekend!

And it is a party town..where would this event take place?

Wonder if we could get Allen Field House? ;)

PrairieScaper
05-15-2003, 12:56 PM
And maybe Liberty Hall! Then we could swarm the Free State Brewery!

Anytime we're ready to start planning this "We've-Got-Our-Show-Back" party, keep Lawrence in mind, folks.

And what's wrong with a little centrism every now and then? :P

One of these times your in town, Ships, we must arrange to bump into each other.

Actually I hope Brian Henson does write that thank you letter. It would be interesting to say the least what he had to say about the future of Farscape. Not the mention the effect we may have had on the whole process since the cancellation from B. Henson's point of view. BTW great job everyone and thank you again Twich.

I've been to the Cape and apart from NASA and Ron Jon's Surf Shop there's not a lot else (except the beach of course).

But of course my very vivid imagination has been in overdrive ever since I left work (and due to the heavy traffic with an accident on every major highway and even more fender benders on the secondaries) I had a protracted period in which to think!

What about calling it the TERRA FIRMA CON in KANSAS (city and date yet to be determined!)

After all we'd be celebrating John and Aeryn "coming back to earth"! :joy:

Ok, I am a bit confused here...

Everyone is shouting, farscape is saved. Granted I am thrilled that Brian is back where he should belong, however, where does people get that info where they say there will be more Farscape?!?!?!?!!?

Anyway, I hope this whole this really does hold water, there would be nothing better then to hear that there will be a conclusion to Farscape or three TV movies to end it the way it was meant to be...

The world has never seen anything like Farcsape. It was the very best show in the history of TV... Each episode were better then so much Hollywood junk...

I wish I had the money to make this come true...

I believe what everybody are saying is that they're happy that it's back in good hands and as they (we) see it as a good sign compared to it staying with EM.TV. If that leads to Farscape being shot again or not.. we'll see. I think there's a bigger chance of that happening than if it would've stayed with EM.TV.

Welcome DRD 1138 and Blast! It's nice to have you here.

In answer to your questions, it's not so much that we have a pipeline to God or anything. We do not know that we will get our show back, it's just that Brian Henson is as passionate about Farscape as most of us here at FMD and if it is humanly (or even muppetly) possible, production of Farscape will begin again. It will probably take a couple of years before that happens, because of contractual obligations, etc, but our boundless optimism tells us that it will happen.

Hello fellow scapers,

First of all I am a new fan so I don't claim to know everything about the show. However, I am addicted to this show and it's cause. One thing I am is passionate aboutis things I believe in and doing the right thing. Enough said.

I have contacted every network that I can think of regarding picking up Farscape. I have emailed Mancow here in Chicago because he is talking about the Matrix and how horrible it was and he is a Sci-Fi fan. (mancow@mancow.com) I agree.I have also contacted the Henson Productions company at fanmail@henson.com. I received an answer and it is very promising and leads me to beleive that there is hope for Farscape.

Although I have not seen the last episode of season 4 ( has anyone) I am told by this email response that it says "to be continued". I don;t think I would have been answered to if this show was gone and dead. I could be wrong.

There is a lot more that is is said and I would be happy to forward the message to you. contact me @ qualitytemp@earthlink.net and I will forward the message to you. In my opinion, this story isn't dead yet.

A Rookie Scaper,

Welcome qtemp. Have a good time on the board - oh, dear, I'm sure you had one, otherwise you wouldn't be here. :-))
It's great - people who haven't watched the show yet but have lurked in the middle of a wormhole, always keeping an eye on this forum, become viewers. Folks - we can make it! Yeah...

No. I haven't seen 4.22 yet. Because of the stupid cable-channel; it, that should not be named, here in Germany. Can you imagine that: At first they put Farscape on the usual ST-Place - Friday, 8:15 pm. Then shifted it, after they'd shown a couple of episodes out of order - sounds familiar, or? - to saturday 3:00 pm. Slower and slower the slot wandered in the direction after midnight - on sunday! Well, there are so many SF-Fans who can watch SF-Shows at that time. *sarcasm*
And guess what they did - they showed season 2 and that was it. Some people had the luck to watch the third season on pay-tv - but not the majority.
So I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere. Perhaps I'm lucky: I can watch 42 eps - 42? Really? Was there a white mouse on the table? I've seen some of season- 4-eps on the To Be Frelling CONtinued-Con V. It was a little bit confusing...

But I'm talking gibberish. :-)
Let's hope, that they are indeed planning a movie. Perhaps at this moment, Brian and his mates are sitting on the round table and are discussing the subject...

I can feel a new reality show coming on ...

A Twich in Time

Starring Twich - who is able to penetrate tall buildings and bound over red tape to get to the 'man' at the top.

Co-starring her faithful sidekick in conspiracy - Tiriel the Great (organizer)

Also appearing, a cast of thousands!

Proudly sponsored by Frunium Slip Enterprises - the only place in the UTs to buy anything you can imagine!

Hmmm... great idea! A little advertising, the right promotion, hey this baby will work. Call my agent!

Must make sure director understands that show is to be filmed around our product placement. Would be great for business! Each shot featuring new tech, I'd make gazillions! Oh, um, of course I would donate a substantial part of that back into the fund, after production costs, promo fees, agents, and my own almost insignificant profit. :D

All venues are being considered AcidFlashGordon.

But the suggestion of Kansas (as there was a season 4 episode named that) seems a logical hot choice! Of course there's lots of time for discussion yet :lol and it is my opinion! And there are lots of other opinions that will be taken into consideration!:D
