Just an idea, I know the Burbank con is a ways off, in November. We have to show them how much we love Farscape, and what a franchise it is. What's stopping someone from the official SaveFarscape table from inviting (and paying the way for from the fund) a VP from Showtime. That way a chosen 'ambassador scaper' could show them around, and clue them in to how loyal, and what a cool :smokin: deal Farscape fans are!
I figure if Tiriel is able to get a press pass for the Saturn Awards, this wouldn't be too far off the mark.
What do you guys think?? I think if done right, it could work out really well :)

Boy, you're really wanting to give that mojo fairy a workout, aren't you? ;)
This has some possibilities..but let's think. What would you want to show a VP about Scapers? In a way, Scapercon would be better because it's all about Scapers and not run by the corporate guys, like Creation cons are...
And why would a Vp of showtime or UPN accept the invite? What's in it for them? They're busy people and I don't think cons are a whole lot of fun for the non-fan. What could you use to hook them?
I'm not trying to put a nix on the idea, just trying to see how it might be possible.

How about the prospect of thousands (if not millions) of new veiwers to their networks.
Theat would sure motivate me, if I were an exec.

I think both ideas have merit: Burbank is closer to TPTB, while ScaperCon is concentrated Farscape with MANY cast members. ScaperCon will also happen in early August, after the late July business approval of the Henson deal. ScaperCon comes first, so maybe we can try an invite and use Burbank as a backup to reschedule? Lots of possibilities here. Good opportunities for both.

Sococlear, the number of people who are actually at cons are in the hundreds to maybe a couple of thousand. And it's hard to convince people that the die hard fanatics are a representative slice of the population of the fandom, and not all that there is. I know, because I've had a lot of discussions about this issue.
I think the idea has a lot of potential, because I do think that if they saw what Scapers were like, and how much they enjoy Farscape and how much money they're willing to spend, etc, it would be quite convincing. I'm just trying to think of how to get them there.

It's just an idea.....maybe someone will run with it. I was thinking mainlyto show off the franchise angle. The idea to show them how it works from a scapers view, perhaps.
I don't know how you'd hook them......wine and dine I guess. Everyone likes a free dinner ticket. Maybe buy them Gold Tickets? Who knows. Stranger things have happened.
