Hey all...

Just wanted to let you know the totals so far for the military project:

We have

6 copies of Premiere/I ET
1 Exodus from Genesis/Throne for a loss
3 BOS 1
1 2.2
1 2.3
1 2.4
1 Through the Looking Glass/A Bug's Life
1 Uncharted Territories Book
1 Illustrated S2 Companion
1 Illustrated S3 Companion

And one Star Trek Insurrection book. :D (We take what we can get eh?)

And the monetary totals as of this morning:

$626.50

So thank you Scapers! Let's keep going! We've got a great start! Scapers are definitely quite generous and very appreciated!

Edited to say that if you ordered from half.com, I'll keep you informed of what we got from whom and how it arrived. That way you can give them feedback if you like.

Today we got Premiere/I ET from seller Zakiaq and it was in excellent (still shrinkwrapped) condition and the packaging for shipment was very well done. :)

I'm going to be a bit lazy here, forgive me please, but are VHS tapes o.k to send or is it DVD's only?

VHS are fine. We can install them at libraries with VHS/TV combos. :)

I was thinking of going to any local Blockbusters' and seeing if they had any Farscape DVDs that they were selling, but I was wondering if anyone here can tell me what kind of condition are they usually in. Has anyone bought used DVDs from rental stores? Would it be worth it to get them?

There are often a bunch of lightly used DVDs/VHS tapes on ebay too, not sure if people are looking there.

This may sound dumb, but how do I send money to your paypal account? Do I look up your email addy at paypal.com and transfer? Sorry, I'm used to just clicking buttons... I'm a bit stymied with the e-mail addy.

I believe that is how you find Mickie....punch in her email addy that she's listed as the person you're sending it to...

I'm not a PayPal afficianado myself...so someone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Don't be afraid to go look for used DVD's. When I switched over this fall from VHS to DVD I got most of mine used from the local music store chain, Rasputins. I haven't had a lick of trouble with them. Also, besides e-bay.com, Amazon.com has good prices. The trick is when you pull up the Farscape selections, don't look at Amazon's regular price look over and click onto the "new and used" link attached to each selection. There you can pull up prices for quite cheap even for new DVD's.

A note for Mickie:

If you didn't see in another tread, the fantastic $2.50 deal had sold out by Monday!:bravo: But you can still get the "Premiere/I ET" DVD for $3.99 at that site. I went over to Amazon and got them for $3.89 (got two) and $3.94 (one). I'll be dropping them off at the San Francisco and Berkeley Public Libraries when they come in!:sun:

Eve: What Twich said :)

Jeff: I did see your note, but because we are going to be purchasing new/shrinkwrapped DVDs in bulk (not all libraries accept used), it rules out the kind of bargain hunting open to individual scapers.

(Not to discourage anyone who wants to take advantage of these deals on our behalf, The Military Project and the San Diago Sub-Project (See the main library thread for address) both will cheerfully accept used materials in good condition.)
