I'm looking for a really good high resolution picture of Rygel, preferably with him holding his sceptre. Has anyone seen one like this? I've checked the major archives and haven't come across too many that are high resolution.

Can you play DVDs on your computer?
If so, I'd download PowerDVD (from downloads.com, or similar). It's a trial version, but it has an option for screenshots.
I think he held a scepter in the beginning of Throne For a Loss?
A friend is borrowing ALL my S1 DVDs right now (Frell!), or I'd do it myself

There's an idea! I use a Mac and have had limited to no success in getting screenshots off DVDs. But I haven't checked the software sites for new progams lately, maybe something has come out. I'll give it a look, thanks!

Maybe.
No harm in tossing it up.
An essential part of Farscape was it's unpredictable nature.
I try to run with that.

I'm not sure how this works for DVDs.
I would guess, that if you can watch a DVD on your Mac, that you can use this.
Free from Apple.

Quicktime is the absolute best thing out there.

Hey CM, can you tell us what the pic of Rygel was required for?

Hey Grinner,
CM and I are taking over and overhauling the Farscape Fanfic Awards. Sorry, that's all of the teasers I'm dropping here till the official annoucement:evil2:

Jeff's being coy ;) We've already annunced that we're continuing the Fanfic Awards from last year.
What I need is a really clear picture of Rygel with that double-damned scepter. It's pretty fuzzy in most pics, but with HackTV I think I can get a good one off the DVDs now, at least I think I've figured it out. (Of all things, why would Apple make this particular graphics task so difficult to do?) I was going to use it as part of a graphic for the new Fanfic Awards site that we're drawing up. We're nicknaming the awards the Sparkys. :D Of course, I might gravitate over to using Rygel as the Black Knight- he looks pretty spiffy there too.

Re: Hack TV
I'm not sure why it seems hard for you.
I'm almost always in OS 9, I'm not a big fan of OS X ( to say the least ), and it is very straight forward. I should try the carbon version, though.
I do all of my captures from an old vcr using the built in composite video card that came with this old beige g3. NP. Other than the innate low quality of capturing from video.
Like a lot of things that Apple provides regarding Quicktime and multimedia in general, I think it is more a proof of concept for developers than an actual application meant to compete in the market.

Hey DA,
...not hard as in the program is hard, hard as in I didn't know about the program, and I thought the only way to get the pics was using the finder commands to capture pictures and such. Command-shift-3 or 4 just doesn't create a permanent picture from a DVD- the picture just vanishes and the file is blank.
I haven't traded up to OSX yet either, my laptop has it on there, but I find it rather illogical in some respects, plus most everything I have has to run in the Classic environment anyway, so why bother? So I just use 9.
