vehemence

In this time of network Television's potato sack race to find the wildest and most entertaining reality television show, there seems to be a void in the realm of originality. CBS recently released information about there new fall lineup and shows in pre-production. It seems that most of the shows revolve around the premise of after-the-point crime solving eg. CSI, there top hit show. FOX much the same with there own succesful shows like American Idol and Joe Millionaire. Basically much of the same. What the world of Television needs as many of you will agree is a completly original and ground breaking TV show with many of the best aspects of TV history's best shows. The Fugitive, Moonlighting, MASH,and STAR TREK are just a few of the shows that remind me of ths incredibly and deeply emotional show that is called Farscape. I must admit when I first heard of theh show I was a skeptical. Come on. Puppets, blue people, and guys with tentacles running around. It sounded like H.R. Puffinstuff. But once I sat down and watched this show, and watched the characters grow and evolve over time , I was simply impressed and eventually moved.
After the Dark time. When It no longer appeared on Friday nights on the SCI-FI(?) channel, I started to investigate the show. I found out that it was film in Sydney, Australia with some of Austrailia's most accomplished actors and directors. This show wasn't cancelled for being poorly done or for lack of interest, it was cancelled over money and politics. And this is sad. For in this world of low-attention span TV and half-assed network quality programming, when a show that clearly is better acted, directed, and produced than anything on Television cannot survive, screams for the need for independant production such as that exsists in motion pictures.
Well that is my rant. If you made it this far thanks for reading this and thanks to this site for having a place for me to vent my frustration with Network TV.
