Vote your conscience!

Note I've put Dream A Little Dream/Re: Union first, per production number I believe. The actual original airing order was with Mind the Baby first.

No fair Darth Buddha - season 2 had so many excellent episodes and you wanted us to pick ONLY ONE!

I love the Look at the Princess trilogy, The Way We Weren't, Out of Their Minds, Liars, Guns and Money trilogy, Die Me Dichotomy and Beware of Dog equally.

MoyaChick

One! Just one!   Are you magra farbot?

I finally went for The Way We Weren't (in lieu of having to choose just one of the LGM trilogy) although i was very temtped to plum for Beware of Dog. :D I cried when vorc died.

You will now have to excuse me. My head hurts and I need a lie down before I attempt to tackle your next poll

Oh boy oh boy, just one???
:) Ok, let's see.....
Well, I chose to go w/ the ep that got me crackin' up--of course, there was more than one--but I can never get enough of CDM!!

phew, now I gotta think of my fav eps for the other seasons, wish me luck ;)

~JerseyScaper

PS. But isn't it great that there really isn't one single best episode?? We got a ton of great episodes to watch!
:joy:

It was a toss-up between CDM, and The Way We Were'nt. They were easily my favorite two, but I had to go with CDM. The scene(s) with John/Aeryn on Command were hilarious.

If you are stuck between two or more choices, vote for the one with the least votes to date.

I don't expect, nor did I really want, a single "favorite" out of this poll.

I MAY, however, use the responses to the Seasons 1-4 polls to put together an "All Time Favorite" poll... again, without expectation of a runaway.

I had to vote The Way We Weren't, but love The Locket and Taking the Stone ( the end gives me goose bumps and makes me cry every time.) equally as well.

As with your other "best of season" polls, this has been VERRRRY difficult. I ended up picking "The Locket", which is such a sweet episode and has been known to make even the hardened and the cynical weep.

crackers don't matter all the way, probably my fav ep of all I've seen so far. Scorpious in a hawaiian shirt urging John to shoot Aeryn so they "can have pizza... and margarita shooters". I fell out of my chair!

Hey man why only one episode - it's hard enough choosing like 3 or 4 from season 2 because its just so great! Even though it's hard to do i suppose the best just has to be "Crackers Don't Matter"!!!

Such a great frellin episode!

trubador
06-28-2003, 01:34 PM
I had to vote for Won't Get Fooled Again. Crackers is great, but Traltix is SOOOOO annoying. Out of Their Minds is awesome, but the scenes with D'Argo/Chiana/Pilot (as a trio, by themselves) during the soul switches aren't as good as the scenes with Crichton/Aeryn/Rygel trio (or the rest of the ep). WGFA is just so out there and surreal, yet it also hits you with some powerfully intense scenes with John and his mother!

QUESTION: In "Clockwork Nebari" there's a flashback scene of Chiana with her bro, Neeri hiding at a planet, while being affected by the contagion. Is THAT planet the SAME planet that Aeryn goes to in "Fractures" in Season 3? It certainly looks the same, when looking out the high-rise building's window. Hmmmmmmm.....

I just did this for S1....

My favorites from S2:

I voted for Mind the Baby because... it's definitely one of my favorites....

Other favorites:
Crackers Don't Matter
("Frigid, flat butted Peacekeeper SKANK!" :rollin: )

The Way We Weren't (because I love Aeryn and Pilot)

Out Of Their Minds (one of the best FS episodes ever...)

Beware of Dog (that little alien is so cute!)

We Won't Get Fooled Again (just frelling strange...)

The Locket (I'm a hopeless J/A shipper)

and Die Me Dichotomy (because it was so tragically beautiful)

Won't GET FOOled AGAIN ( reason behind that) When I blonged to the Ultimate Board they had a clip with Aeyrn holding a syringe ready to stick john. They were all galthered around him) there was a little cloude around the statement (in the gutter) always made me laugh because that is where my mind stays the most.

There are so many good eps in Season 2 it is really tough nookies huh. But I will go with that one. Since you can only choose one.:finger:

I JUST bought the 2.3 two disc set, and though I wanted to watch "Look at the Princess" first, I steeled myself to watch "Out of Their Minds". I never saw this episode, and it was one of the most hilarious! John did exactly what ANY guy would do in Aeryn's body (or out, if they didn't have to worry about getting clocked). But Rygels bitching was probably the funniest thing. I was swilling my brew when Rygel exclaimed "Shoot the damned gun you blue-assed bitch!". I nearly spewed Killians all over my computer.

It was the highpoint of my day, which started out with replacing a starter motor on an old Ford, and quicky evolved into a front end job and a fuel pump replacment all in my driveway (and I'm allergic to gasoline - there's one big assed blister on my back), and finally....I discovered some inbred backwoods redneck stole my brand new 10 day old lawnmower. You know...guns don't kill people, I kill people.

Tough choice. I voted for the amazing "Die Me, Dichotomy", although there were other very good episodes in season 2 - the dramatic "The Way We Weren't", the incredible "Won't Get Fooled Again" and the action&drama -packed "Liars, Guns And Money" -trilogy.

The beginning of season 2 was rather poor but after the first trilogy it picked up the pace and never let go.

This one's a problem. Season 2 is my favorite....! The three that it was tough for me to choose between were Out Of Their Minds...forgive me, I like the boobie dance, as well as all the goofy stuff that happens in that episode. Won't Get Fooled Again, a seriously classic example of Farscape pushing the envelope on BIZARRE! And Die, Me, Dichotomy. Die, Me, Dichotomy made me weep, which is something I don't do, so it really came down to that and Won't Get Fooled Again....but then I remembered how watching Won't Get Fooled Again brought about my immense respect for Claudia Black's OTHER talents than acting. Take a look at my avatar....yes I'm talking about the tounge thing!!! God, I wish I could do that! :kitty: Won't Get Fooled Again gets my vote!

I really wanted to vote for something more meaningful, but I just couldn't help myself. There's something about 'Taking the Stone' that I can really relate to man. For one thing I thought Chiana looked really wild with her hair made to look red and spikey, and maybe even punky looking. And more than that, I think it was the way that she exaggerated those wierd moves of hers. It all kinda made her look more wierder than usual, but not less lickable.:)

The other thing about 'Taking the Stone' was the drug taking and the spaced out looks on Chrighton as well as the other wierdos. It all reminds me of a few people that I used to know, only they were mad.:rollin:

Even tougher than choosing a fav Season 1 ep. I ultimately went with The Way We Weren't 'cause Aeryn's my favorite character, I love her relationship with Pilot, and I really like the questions this one raises about being complicit in horrific deeds. But OOTM and DMD would come in close seconds--the former for being absolutely hilarious (John in Aeryn's body telling Rygel in John's body how to pee is just classic) and the latter for being absolutely stunning.

Bit of a toss-up between The Way We Weren't and Won't Get Fooled Again, but I chose The Way We Weren't. It's not too confusing, is a good episode to introduce to people new to Farscape, and it's Pilot-centric and he doesn't seem to do all that much in the show anyway. A great way to show chemistry between John and Aeryn, and showing just how "human" a puppet can be (albeit a very expensive animatronic puppet).

In my opinion, Die Me, Dichotomy was the best just because it had one of the most heart wretching scenes I have ever seen on tv. period. It's just another example of how excelent the actors are on Farscape.

This was DEFINITELY harder than choosing for Season 1!! To me, S2 was the best--there were SO MANY excellent eps!! I had to go with Out of Their Minds, which is unusual, because I usually go more for the dark, dramatic eps. However, each actor was FANTASTIC playing other characters trapped in his/her character's body. My other S2 faves, in order, include:

Die Me, Dichotomy (I bawled during Aeryn's service)
The Way We Weren't (I liked that they delved into Pilot's background)
Won't Get Fooled Again (Lani in high heels--'nuff said!)
The Locket
The Look at the Princess trilogy
Taking the Stone

My vote goes to the first Farscape episode I saw, Die Me Dichotomy. Heartbreakingly sad with an unforgetable ending. Every time I see it, it draws me in, and it's even better now that I have seen the rest of the episodes before it. :)

The DVD that is the most worn of my collection is the one witih Crackers Don't Matter. That ep is darned entertaining. DMD would probably be the best, but that wasn't the question.

Real tough choice.....

Both Trilogies were outstanding! so can't split them up.

Guess I'll go with OOTM. Claudia imitating Chrichton, or any other guy including me, was histerical. Claudia imitating Chrichton in her body telling Rygel how to take a leak in Chrichton's body equally histerical (See why I'm a PK-Tralk-Girl admirer)

Honorable mention:

BOTD- the vorc humping aeryn's leg
CDM- "Humans Are Superior!!!" classic Farscape
DMD- Devastatingly effective

Even VM and TTS which I consider the least of S-2 are still watchable.

Jeez, I leave the poll alone for a while and suddenly Crackers Don't Matter has slipped from #1 to #3.

Bizarre.

I just hope that the people have spoken and not another padding by multiple identities (we've had one or another low count item jump ten more more votes overnight before, which is just too suspicious - might be Pisher!).

I haven't seen much of Season 2, but I have seen it up to "Out of Their Minds" and that has to be my fave so far... I also like "The Way We Wern't"

Raina
10-23-2003, 09:58 PM
The Way We Weren't and Out Of Their Minds were my favorites. The first because it's very dramatic, well acted, well plotted and it features Pilot (who doesn't nearly get enough story time) and Aeryn. I think it's Farscape's best 'test the friendship' episode.
It also gave Pilot a chance to emote a bit more instead of his usual jammed on neutralness.

I liked Out of their Minds for the sheer wackiness, humor and believeability everyone put into acting like each others' character. That my friends is diversity. It's all so real too with John enjoying and taking advantage of being in a woman's body. He's a guy, what do you expect?! As a woman, I wouldn't blame him one bit! The ending was lovely and made me snicker. It's rare Farscape gets to just have fun like that.

I've just started season two. Of course I had to go out of order and watch Out of Their Minds and Look at the Princess triology. All four were great. Soon I'll finally be able to vote here. I got kicked out of work at around 1:00 yesterday so I had tons of extra time on my hands to view all 4 eps. Actually I was sent home as a "reward" whatever that means.

Yeah, the only thing I don't get is John when he's in Aeryn's body and Aeryn/Rigel and Chiana/Drago 'catch' him. I mean he's seen it before, cuz of 'A Human Reaction' they were 'together', so I don't understand what his deal was, maybe a 'guy' can help me to understand that. I thought Aeryn deal w/ that great, she got him back privately, personally, I would've been a little more public in my retalliation if ya get me. ;)

Um...as for the John-in-Aeryn's body: he might've seen it, but most guy's don't know what it feels like to...uh... "have" them on their person like that, so he's going to be curious about them, right?

I really LOVED the locket, and so voted for it. My first ever episodes of Farscape were the "Look at the princess" trilogy. Wow! I'm way out of sync on this poll.

I voted for The Ugly Truth.

1. It does the usual Farscape thing. Takes a story which you have seen and heard a thousand times before and gives it a twist to make it seem like new.

2. Plokavian acne. I confess. I am a chocaholic. Waking up and looking like that is my worst nightmare. These villains were smarter and scarier than the Halosian big birds of OOTM.

3. As in OOTM the actors were acting out of their normal characters into a character as the other characters saw them. That's always funny but I think this would be more of a challenge to act in a number of different characters, than imitate somebody else's character. It was done realistically too, if you can say that about a fantasy.

4. Stark lurking in another dimension waiting to delurk and bring back the madness at any moment or not ... more loose ends.

5. Crackers had the best lines, the Vorc is my favourite creature, fem fatal Natira collecting guys's eyes for her Christmas tree (thnx Anni for that embellishment) BUT here we have young problem child Talyn getting away with murder - that's what I call setting up anti-ci-pa----tion for a few good episodes.

impossible to narrrow this down to one episode

the way we weren't; the episode that made me fall in love with aeryn sun, claudia's acting in this episode is so real it's scary, her pain is so raw you can't help but empathise

out of their minds: the funniest episode ever, this is what farscape excells at, taking an established sci-fi concept and turning it on it's head, letting the rich characters it has established loose on it, this time it just happens to have frelling hillarious consequences

and of course die me dichotomy, claudia black and ben browder make this episode what it is, the tragedy of john-scorpius and the death of aeryn sun make this the most gripping episode(so far)

MrX

This one definitely had some of the best of the series.

MTB: Adventure, excitement, a Scaper craves these things
CDM: Laughs!! Insanity!! Disturbing Behavior!! Featuring Pilot as HAL 5000. Or is that 9000?
OOTM: More Laughs!! Rygel learns how to pee as a human. John gets to know Aeryn's body. Aeryn gets to know John's pants
TWWW: Tears, tissues, it's just touching
WGFA: More insanity!! Red heels! Harvey. yay
ACN: This is the first full ep of Farscape I ever saw. Special place in my heart
LGM Part III: Oh yeah, more shooting, more fighting, and Talyn blows stuff up. Good times
DMD: What a way to go out. No Aeryn and Scorpy wins. Truly evil.

Another tough one. But the antics of CDM will always win me over.

DMD. I have rarely cried as much. Despite the fact I knew Aeryn was coming back. And that's a feat.

Though S2 is the hardest to pick (for me). CDM (hilarious, bitter and first appearance of Harvey), LG&M3 (I love multi-parters and this was amazing. Plus the tag with John asking D'Argo to kill him...wow) & WGFA (unbelievably good) gave it a run for its money.

Crackers don't matter, out of their minds, and won't get fooled again are all fantastic, but the latter is just so inventive I had to go for that one. I was away from home when the BBC first broadcast it in 2000, and I got to see it, but I'd asked my sister to tape it for me for posterity. When I got home two days later I found she'd managed to tape it, then tape over everything that was on said tape, including my copy of beware of dog.
How I lasted the nine months till the video release waiting to see it again I know not. But then again, I had no idea how much the BBC had cut from it till I saw the video version, and I wouldn't have if she hadn't done the taping over, so I guess I should be grateful.

OOTM has to be the funniest thing to appear on the t.v., and that includes some of the, so called, comedies. The look on John's face (in Aerin's body), as Rygel (in John's body) zips up his pants is priceless, as is John (in Aeryn's body) doing the shimmy. :D  :esp:

The Way We Weren't

This was a really hard poll. There are so many excellent episodes. Out of their Minds, Crackers Don't Matter, Clockwork Nebari, the Liars, Guns and Money Trilogy, Die Me Dichotomy...

But of them all.... The Way Were Weren't. Aeryn backstory, Pilot backstory, the tag scene. Wow.

Okay Well this one was a very hard one for me But I narrowed it down.

Die Me Dichotomy cause I am an angst fan.
The locket: For my romantic side
Look at the Princess: The whole trilogy was great.

Again, not having read what everyone else wrote, I voted for "Die, Me Dichotomy" because I absolutely love that episode, great acting from Claudia. But I agree with the LATP trilogy being up there, and I did really enjoy "The Locket".

To be honest, I didn't really appreciate "The Locket" until I saw "The Choice" (season 3) because it is apparent that Aeryn recalls some of the interactions between her and John in locket. The fact that locket is more or less a reset episode (John and Aeryn essentially have no memory of what happened) kind of pissed me off because their relationship advanced quite a bit and it seemed to almost be a waste. But I think it's great how John suspected something may have happened between them (in locket) and in choice I think Aeryn kind of realizes what they could have had if they had gotten together sooner and how things may have been if they were able to be together forever and actually go back to Earth (even though down the road things do clear up between Moya/Green/EventuallyTheReal John and Aeryn).

I totally agree with you on the "Locket". It upset me that they had no memory but it gave us a peak at what they might be like. Also we see their relationship how it should be and eventually became.

I would have to say Die M D because the chorus at Aeryn's funeral and the sheer emotion of it was great. I also love WGFA and Out of their Minds. My favorite line from Out of their minds is when Rygel is talking to the alien on Moya and it pukes and then Rygel says : Don't worry we do that all the time here, I just peed in the maintenance bay"

The Princess Trilogy. One vote so specifically A Kiss Is But A Kiss.

The little things got to me. Learning that Pilot and Moya enjoy Zhaan's singing, and the peaceful reaction to it. Hearing Moya's voice. Scorpy feigning 'fear' of the acid, then dipping his fingers after John leaves. "Take care of my little girl." "How Batman was that!"

Hmmm. Id have to say that Season 2 rocked and it was hard to pick one but, since I absolutely loved the Princess trilogy (started watching Farscape at this point)... I'd have to say that the Maltese Crichton would be my fav because thats where Aeryn really accepts that she loves Crichton. And, I was also touched by the scene where he hugged his daughter but could never see her again. I can relate.. having a daughter myself and, not being able to spend as much time with her as I would like. *Sniff

I'll never forget watching it with a friend of mine whom I was introducing to Farscape. He was examing the Crichton in Aeryn's body thing and asking "how does he not, you know? I mean they're there, they're right there" followed later by the scene and Crichton/Aeryn saying "They're here, they're right here". The guy's draw nearly dropped through the floor! :D

Season Two has so many excellent episodes and so many episodes that build on the love story.

I really liked Season II . . . for me its the best season. While John was still the central character in Season II, they also had enough episodes focused on the other characters to make them feel special (TtS, MtB, TWWW, TL, and aCN). Something I thought was seriously lacking in Season IV. Some of my favorites are "The Way We Weren't", "The Locket", "Crackers Don't Matter", the Princess trilogy, and "Liars, Guns and Money" (I love it when they bring back old secondary characters . . . it makes the universe feel "lived" in).

A lot of my favorite eps are in season 2. Die Me, Dichotomy is my favorite though, followed by Crackers Don't Matter and then Won't Get Fooled Again.

Also, the Liars, Guns and Money trilogy was very cool.

I ended up going for 'Crackers Don't Matter' but I also really like 'The Locket', 'Out of Their Minds', 'The Way we Weren't' and the 'Liars, Guns and Money' trilogy and others! For me, season two was probably my fave season, so many strong episodes!! :)

I love the first 3 seasons of Farscape (some of my most very favorite scenes in Farscape are in season 4 but so are my most least favorite as well) but, I have to agree with Spacedout: "If someone held a gun to my head and made pick a single favorite season then, I would pick season 2".

Difficult to pick just one. But I really love Cracker don't matter, so this is my choice. Although Out of their minds, The locket and Die me dichotomy are very close.
I think that this season is the best.

Locket is great. But why does everyone ignore "My Three Crichtons" episode all the time? Please! :) That episode ponders some very cool philosophical questions, it's funny (at times, like *SPOILER* the more advanced Cricton shows up and Aeryn looks at him, he has no .. well you know, his tools are missing.. and she is like "you are going to blame that on the cold?"... :) I was laughing so hard on that one) and I also liked Ben Browder's great acting on both "new" Crictons, especially the newer advanced Crichton. The advanced Crichton was... man.. he was such as a**hole you know, you love to hate him, he was so, I can't find the words, just, slimy, bad, and a**hole all mixed up in one. The teeth, his body language, it was great acting all the way. I read somewhere BB decided, in future, people would probably have whiter and better shaped teeth, that's why he decided to give that character that teeth he had, and I think characterwise it works perfectly. It made him that much more sleezer. Anyway.

So my favs are Locket, MTC. Also "Out of their Minds" and "The Way We Weren't".

why does everyone ignore "My Three Crichtons" episode all the time? Please! :)

tho this is not my favorite of season 2, this episode has the dark undertones that made Farscape so great - the irony that it is the neanderthal crichton that makes the ultimate sacrifice, that "our" crichton reacts with such loathing to this "lower" version (although since he's going quietly insane throughout the season we have to make some allowances)....and how it is chiana who understands most completely how the "three" are really "one". love the poignant moments between john and chiana at the end, after the clones depart.

favorite season 2 episode? jeez. won't get fooled again. i think.

It's a close race between Cracker's Don't Matter and Won't get Fooled Again... I love them both and I had a hard time keeping myself from falling off my chair due to mysterious laughs, especially during the Scorpius+Hawaii shirt+pizza scene in CDM and the Craca in uniform scenes in WGFA. Hilarious.

Hi everyone:
Again, it is so very hard to choose. I thought about the two trilogy's. And I like them. ( I had a tough time being able to see the end of them. I mean , I think there is something wrong with my dvd's . I might have to exchange them for good copies that work with my player. ) I like the ones that Crichton is fighting with Scorpius. It makes me feel that Crichton is so human . ( I mean, I KNOW that he IS human. But what I meant, is that he really truly struggles with the demon inside . ) Like when Scorpius is telling him to put the tube inside . Crichton is struggling NOT to put the correct tube inside of Scorpius. I liked that Crichton ( earlier ) put a bad tube in the case, so that Scorpius's nurse would unwittingly place that bad tube . It is kinda like the perfect revenge for Crichton against Scorpius. If Scorpius can put himself into Crichton's mind than it is okay, vice versa. And then the struggle to NOT help Scorpius. I could feel the tension as he half wanted to and half did not want to . I like then that he pushed Scorpius away, and crawled away singing the " Star Spangled Banner " anthem. I heard myself humming along with him. Great tune. Very catchy. Hehehe.
But then I also liked when they switched bodies with each other in the " Out of their minds " episode. And Rygel was in Crichton. Hehehehe. That was so funny. And at the end when Crichton was back inside himself. ( and everyone was back inside themselves. ) Crichton was fooling around to make us all ( and especially Aeryn ) think that he was still Rygel. He was crawling on all fours and saying something about wanting to be back inside his body. I was thinking, " Gee, Rygel is just there and he IS back inside his body. So what is this ??? " Then it occurred to me that he is only kidding. I waited for him to have to tell that to Aeryn before I breathed a sigh of relief. That is why I chose this episode as my favourite. Even tho' I could have kept choosing. I mean, it seems every season it is chock full of favourites. And then the season finale when Crichton had the Scorpius chip removed from his brain. . .
Sincerely yours,
Danny Grazer

I can't say that I had any one favorite. For me it was the overall feel of some of the episodes.

The opening scene of Vitas Mortis when John, D'Argo, and Zhaan are standing looking at the old woman's tower; then John sitting around in the waiting room, I almost felt like I was watching a SciFi western. Kind of like Stephen Kings Gunslinger series.

The topside of the planet in Taking the Stone also had the sort of gray - gritty - gunslinger type feel to it (for me).

I thought it was all rounded out nicely with LGM 1, 2, and 3. For me, it was like watching a fantastic cross between Star Wars and Young Guns. It doesn't get any better than breaking into a shadow depository (Young Guns) and it doesn't get anymore Star Wars than Scorpius (Darth Vader) standing in the hall, impervious to everything going on around him, controling Crichton.

I thought the burial scene in Die Me, Dichotomy held that almost western feel. They could have been just as easily standing in a cemetary outside some desolate town, the starkness of the cryo room just as harsh as the hardest flats where nothing grows except scrub brush and the ground is packed down solid because there's not enough rain.

That's just me and I apologize for the novel.

Mind the Baby, hands down.

I love Crais. I love Bad Boy Crais even more and he's so frelling arrogant in MTB I want to hit him. Or snog him silly.

Possibly both.

But DMD was a close contender and still makes me cry.

Season 2 was sooooooo good its not fair to make me choose but at the same time its an obvious choice for me as season 2 contains my favourite episode of all time: Crackers don't matter!
Its pure farscape, the episodes packs in everything that I know and love about the characters.
The season ender comes a close second, best cliffhanger of farscape ever, way back when scorpy was the primary villian in all his glory!
Plus you finally get an admition of love from aeryn, without it be too gooey and shippy, what I loved about the john + aeryn angle.
