What's up?

I'm new to the forum (signed up today). I was just wondering how the campaign was going. Is there any news on if another network has considered picking up FS?

I'm just discusted that the FS time slot has been taken up by the lowest form of TV life (a so called reality show). If I wanted reality i'd go out into the real world.

Sorry about the rant, I just hate all reality shows. There's nothing real about them or the people in them.

Back to the topic. I was just intrested to know if anyone has had any positive responces from any of the contacted networks. I hope so because the best scifi series since the origional Star Trek can't end like that.

Welcome! I hope you stick around and get familiar with the place -- be sure to check out the Campaign Strategizing forum on a regular basis for updates and news. As for your question, it's kinda hard to answer in 100 words or less. :)

No, we haven't heard anything directly from another network -- either positive or negative. However, we do have reason to believe off the record that Viacom (owns UPN & Showtime networks, among others, and seems to love niche networks) is very interested in buying Sci Fi or, if that fails, starting its own network for science fiction. In either case, we suspect they could be very interested in Farscape for such a network. :) But there are lots of decisions being made by many different executives, and a lot more at stake for them than the fate of a single TV show. So, we wait patiently and fill our days with spreading the good word about Farscape...

Brian Henson and his family just recently bought back their father's company (The Jim Henson Company) from its almost bankrupt parent company, and has recently expressed a continuing commitment to the future of Farscape. So, that is one less hurdle to get over!

There's more, but essentially, we're just reading tea leaves. But I will say this: the tea leaves are looking much more favorable these days than at any time since last September. Hopefully we'll get some news by the end of the summer, when the Sci Fi sale should be a done deal and we know perhaps a bit more about the new owner and their plans.
