it just hit me that although I loved that last episode, I was left with a lot of questions, I mean ayrin was pregnant, and crichton was gonna marry her... so if there is no hope for a new season (as it seems to be the case right now) how about just one more go, just one TV special to end it with a bang? the final battle of sorts... I mean I realy dunno if this is even feasible, but think about it, if sci-fi or any network would simply air it, shock full of save farscape commercials and things like that, I have no idea what would be in the show, that's up to henson co. but I truly would like for somehow that john and ayrin did not end this way... and the scarrans need to get the ass whooping for all time, at least that's what I think, I have even thought about my own fan fic about the scarrans reaching earth and invading, mass chaos... then the world unites, and the whole planet gets to find out about aliens and stuff, crichton's dad creates a new type of weapon using leviathan's dna and they proceed to make fighters that are a match for the scarrans, well I know it's crazy but I can't help but imagining things at this point... what would happen after bad timing? it's all I wanna know:grr:

You might want to put some "spoiler space" in your post cause some of our Canadian peeps havent seen the last eps yet.:aok:

Taken on its own terms, Ev, you have a good idea.
But there's other work already existing.
So the real issue here is whether or not we should allow our collective point of aim to be lowered.
Speaking for myself, I don't want to settle for less than the whole story, and perhaps a bit more.
David Kemper and Richard Manning have 22 more episodes of the story mapped out. I don't think we should give up the Campaign for Completion until . . . well, not until every viable venue in broadcasting and cablecasting and satcasting has declined the generous offers of wealth and gratitude known as Scaper Love.
No flames and no aspersions, here, Ev . . . but we can, will and do insist on the best outcome, don't we? Otherwise, we'd all settle for worms and mean cool-kid pranks.
Regards,
g.

oh, I understand perfectly that we don't want to settle for scraps... but it seems after all these months of letters, commercials, and what not, every one is turning a deaf ear, crap they even signed for a new season of friends, now I like that show, but do you know how much money those actors take each episode? courtney arquette alone gets like a cool 6 figures... this I got from E! tonight... sickening... I don't think it costs that much to make a farscape episode, look at all the mediocre shows that are out there now, even star trek is sad, yeah I said it... the new star trek show is a horrible junker, had it not been because I like the vulcan girl, I would never watch that show, but yet they seem to be doing well because they get extended contracts, let me ponder this... Do you watch tremors? I don't... do people even watch smallville anymore? I am saddened to find out that the networks are set on putting on junk that I don't care to watch.
joe millionaire anyone?
or the bachellorette?
where is that puke smiley when I need it?

Well, one thing we should grab hold of is that no one has said 'no' yet. Might sound feeble - but Witchblade, Firefly, and I think Birds of Prey all received letters from the various TV stations they were lobbying saying they were sorry but not interested.
Our campaign is larger than theirs' yet we have received no such letters.
Also with the sale of Henson back to people who are actively interested in pursuing the future of the franchise, and the imminent sale of SciFi, possibly to a company that's not flat broke, who knows what might happen...
Yes, it's frustrating waiting. But remember that if we aim for another whole season, the goals of a half-season or a tv special are included in that fight.
The final problem that the tv special options presents is Farscape's exorbitant start-up costs.
It costs roughtly 1.5 million dollars for an episode of Farscape. But that is only spread out across 22 episodes.
Basically, it costs x amount to start up production, build all the core sets, the basic puppets, pay for the basic make-up. Then it costs an additional y amount for each episode they make after that.
Example: I'm making a show and it costs $20 dollars to start up production and an additional $5 dollars for each show after that.
If I make four episodes, then that's going to be $40 dollars ($20 startup + $20 for the episodes). Another way of looking at it is $10 dollars per episode.
If I make just one episode, it's going to cost me $25 ($20 startup + $5 for the episode). And that's a flat cost of $25 for that episode making it much more expensive. Or rather, less expensive, but they also get less of the product.
I didn't mean to make that up there ludicrously simple, so please don't feel insulted. It's just it took me a while to understand it, so I figured I'd just explain it in a way I'd understand... :)

Sorry, but I don't want a special. I want the full 22 frelling episodes (at least) and nothing less will suffice. I'd rather see John and Aeryn analized for eternity than get less than the full vision of DK & Co. Patience. It hasn't been that long, and right now, that ending is so appropos. All or nothing I say!:grr:

I know if no there was no way of getting 22-episode season, i would settle for half season, mini-series, or my least favorable option a book.
