Hey i dont know how many of you are aware of this "for men" channel being made. But i was watching some reruns of this old series called 7 days on it and they mentioned that they are building the network from the ground up right now and are encouraging people to send in letters about what they want to see there. Seems like a good opportunity for a bunch of e-mails to get farscape in syndication there. Then mayhap it wont just be a bunch of idioitic and immature shows:).

'7 Days' - I've been watching the reruns, and I enjoyed it when it preceeded 'Voyager' on UPN. Sadly, this is another show that was 'Farscaped'. It was 2nd in ratings on UPN, behind 'Voyager', yet they decided to pull it before they finished airing the 3rd season, to replace it with 'Special Unit 2', which last all of... hmmm... 19 episodes - not even a full season, as it was a mid-season replacement, and it did 13 episodes from October of 2001-February of 2002. Saddest of all, it was an in-house production for Paramount, so none of the 'vertical integration' arguments were applicable.

For a network that's trying to define itself beyond their failing 'Star Trek' franchise, the really pulled a 'bonehead' on that one. Esp. since the show should have been given the opportunity to run on it's own night, un-eclipsed by 'Voyager'. In many ways, '7 Days' was the stronger show... But TPTB seem to have missed that point altogether. 2 years later, and UPN is still the 'Star Trek' network, regardless of how you feel about 'Buffy'.

April 2001: Doubt remains as to the show's future.
I can't seem to find a straight answer on the web. Four episodes remain to be screened, pulled in favour of a new midseason series Special Unit 2, and cancellation seems imminent.

Back in April 2001 Executive Producer Tom Ropelewski told Zap2it.com he wasn't worried about the show's future. "If it was any other network, I would say we'd probably be cancelled. But on UPN, it's really one of the few timeslots where they can really test out a new show and learn anything. I think it's very likely we will be back next year "UPN has been struggling to define itself, and next to Star Trek we're the most-watched one hour ... If you're losing your number one rated show, do you cancel your number two rated show?"

Yes, folks - it's déja-vu, all over again...

Having the show taken off the schedule early means it hasn't even completed production. The four unaired episodes, including the cliffhanger finale could be used to lead off next season if the show is renewed, or could air this summer.

Here's an earlier thread discussing the new TNN/Spike as a potential new home for FS:

Yah i really liked 7 days. It was well done mostly. The main actor (parker) is pretty talented and even if the special effects were a bit cheesy kinda have to expect that with a low budget show. I dont understand why it was cancelled though. just another show of how little networks really understand about good tv.

As far as spike tv i sent them a request and i say that we try to just send them as much requests as possible. They probably cant finance the new show, but they may at least buy the reruns.
