I didn't see 20/20 last night, but I hear they did a segment that put some of the "reality" TV shows in a very negative light. They speciifically focused on Scare Tatics and The Jamie Kennedy Experiment. From what I've seen on other boards this morning, Shannon made a fool of herself. Snurched this from the dom:

When the journalist asked Shannen about her show seeking to getting the biggest reaction from the people they're scaring in order to get good ratings, Shannen replied that those reactions aren't what gets them good ratings. Shannen then said, "I think we have me to get these good ratings."

Ah well, even I've said things I've later regretted. Fortunately I've never said them on national TV. :rollin:

Anyway, if you did watch 20/20, I'd appreciate it if you could post more info on that segment in this thread. Plus, maybe we could email the show (I'm sure they must have an email address somewhere) and let them know that there are plenty of people who are aready tired of the reality TV fad (IMHO, the first season of Survivor was pretty good, but now there are way too many of them and some of them are in pretty bad taste.)

Watta ya think?

edited to add: oops didn't see that vacantlook already started a thread about this in the OTs - mods can delete this if they want.

Nah, this thread shouldn't be deleted because it's more specific than my thread(s) over in the OT forum. This thread is specifically about writing to the folks at 20/20, which is an act of the campaign. The threads I put up in the OT are just for general discussion of the horrors of some "reality tv" like Scare Tactics and its ilk.

This is the web address for the e-mail form for 20/20.

http://abcnews.go.com/sections/2020/2020/2020friday_email_form.html

I could not find a snail mail address, though for those of us who like to write letters. :(

It would be great if we could get a story.

But you know... and not to snurch this thread... but we need to continue to contact People Magazine... they have shown FS support in the past. Once they realize how big this campaign is, I'm sure they'll respond.
