A while back I was bored, so I thought I'd start messing with OpenGL. I wrote a screensaver for windows, OpenGL, that basically started as just a spinning Earth. Later on I added some photorealistic cloud cover, the moon, and did all the proper physics to get everything moving exactly as it should. The goal was more to learn OpenGL/3D programming, and what I initially wanted to do was model the entire Solar System "realistically."

Bouncing around the net, looking for cool Farscape wallpapers/screensavers I found plenty of the former but almost none of the latter; just the two "official" ones from Henson that, in all honesty, are rather amatureish.

So I'm thinking of revamping the screensaver and releasing it for the community, but there's one hitch: I don't have any 3D models of FS stuff.

Sooooo what I'm looking for is anyone who may have (or can create) 3D models of the Farscape vehicles we've seen. Obviously, to start with, I'm interested in spacecraft; FS1, Moya, Talyn, Dreadnaughts, Command Carriers, whatever.

If anyone has anything like this or can create it, I think that'd be extra cool. Full credit in the thing once it's released, along with any associated documentation.

I'd like to get some basic "in space" animation going, then I can start getting more detailed with textures, special effects (starburst, wormholes, etc) and so on.

Any takers?

PM or email Meurig47 (http://www.watchfarscape.com/forums/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=1500) , or go to the
Lightwave Group (http://www.lwg3d.com/v3/meshes.php?cat=12), register, login
and download these fine meshes.

There might be a converter somewhere on the net
if you don't have Lightwave software.

Excellent.. thanks for the link.

Lightwave is a little out of my range, but 3DS can import/export the format so.. no problem. :aok:

I was mistaken, 3DS can't import/export it, neither can Maya.. so I'm combing the digital wasteland for something that can convert them into any format one of those two can read.

Thanks again for the link though, It's got me one step closer at least. :)
