This is incredably tempting. Do you know if the dvd's are for American dvd players or not?

I think I'm one of the very few Farscape fans who doesn't own the dvd's. I'm working on the hubby to get them, but moving without jobs didn't help our finances. We finally have permanant jobs and just bought a house, so finances are still slim, but $90 doesn't sound quiet as bad as full price for the box set.

Just a brief comment ... do those prices refer to a single DVD with 2 episodes for the most part or are they 4 episode 2 DVD sets?

I've been paying $29 at Amazon.com for a 2 DVD set with a total of 4 episodes (free shipping for purchases over $25).

The 4 seasons were released in diferent ways:

Season one
- Was released in 11 two episode volumes, with a MSRP
of $19.98ea (selling for $11.94ea)
- A Season one box set was also released including all episodes
in season one, plus extras with a MSRP of $149.98 (selling for $86.76)

Season two
- Was released in 5 four episode volumes, with a MSRP
of $39.98 (selling for $22.64ea)
- A box set is planned for later on this year, similar pricing
expected - but no official word yet from ADV

Season three
- Was released in 4 four episode volumes with a MSRP of $39.98
(selling for $22.64) named vol 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, and 3.4
- Was also released in 6 two or three episode volumes with a MSRP
of $19.98 (selling for $11.94) named vol 1, vol 2, etc.

Season four
- Has not yet been released to DVD in the US.

Other
- A "Best Of Season One" was also released with a
MSRP of $44.98 (selling for $25.42)

BestPrices is good, but Deep Discount DVDs (deepdiscountdvd.com) has the best prices (region 1) I've found yet. The boxed set price for the entire season 1 or season 2 is $89.99 each, and the "collections"--which contain 2 disks with 4 or 5 episodes--are $23.99 each, and they don't charge for shipping (Shipping FREE on everything).

As an example, the "collections" for season 3 are:

1 (3 v.03.1) 4 eps (Season of Death, Suns & Lovers, Self-Inflicted Wounds-both parts)

2 (3 v.03.2) 5 eps (Different Destinations, Eat Me, Thanks for Sharing, Green Eyed Monster, Losing Time)

3 (3 v.03.3) 4 eps (Relativity, Incubator, Meltdown, Scatch 'N Sniff)

4 (3 v.03.4) 5 eps (Infinite Possibilities-both parts, Revenging Angel, The Choice, Fractures)

5 (3 v.03.5) 4 eps (I Yensch, You Yensch, Into the Lion's Den-both parts, Dog With Two Bones

The "release date" for 3 v.03.5 is October 7, but I pre-ordered, and they shipped it on September 29! Usually takes just 5 days to get to me, so I expect to have it around October 3, BEFORE the release date.

In another thread, JeffRabb alerted us to a problem he had had with ordering on-line with them---you have to make changes to your account information BEFORE you place an order---for example, if you want to change which credit card you are using---or they charge the initial card you had set up. But most of us that uses DD have been very pleased, and I hear they have an excellent toll-free phone ordering service, too.

P.S. Meant to say, Best Prices charges shipping which is why their costs ends up being $2-3 more that Deep Discount, probably not enough to really matter.

Hmv have in there sale all four or five episode dvd boxsets for all four series at £12.99 each. The videos are £3.99 each. All region 2
