Hi to all the fans of Farscape!
First I want to say that as far as I know, we don't have this channel in Sweden so there is nothing to boycott. I do belive they showed Farscape at a moviechannel which normally only shows old movies that most people has already seen and therefore refuse to pay for. The only way Farscape get fans in this country is by people ordering the DVD's from the UK. That is how I have followed this serie from the start and in august it seems to be the end. So the only way for us fans from countries outside thoose who have the SciFi channel to support Farscape is buying Farscape products like DVD's, Video's and other products issued by official Farscape manufactuers. That is what I'm trying to do as well as sending emails to SciFi channel and in an constructive way trying to tell them why they should continue to finance this serie.
Lets face it, they have cancelled a show that has a small audience compared to most regular shows (not SciFi shows), but what they forget is that SciFi fans are like the Metal fans in music very dedicated people who follows and buys everything related to the specific shows or groups that they like. We do not like coppies and we only buy originals.
The second thing they forget when they compare Farscape with other shows is that for example Star Trek is like an institution. How many years have Star Trek been around compared to Farscape? It takes time to build up a fanbase, but when it's done it will be there for a long time and it doesn't give in for anything.
So why should I choose to boycott Scifi channel if I had it?
It is as far as i know the one of few channels that are into SciFi and SciFi productions. OK, this time they have made a bad choice but who is perfect. To be honest, most SciFi shows and movies are not that great and quite often really bad. Farscape is as far as I'm concerned the best SciFi TV production ever made. It has almost been a blessing to see a show with real actors instead of theese really bad so called actors often used in (I'm sorry to say) especially american productions. Farscape has turned out to be much more inventive and has used availible production techniques that makes it more like watching a movie than a TV serie. So why not make a movie as the next step to use as an incentive for taking up the serie at a later stage. The quallity of the actors and the productionteam seems to have it to make that work out to our satisfaction.
So my reason against a boycott is clear and I do belive that the people behind this farscape site and everyone involved in saving Farscape are doing an amazing amount of work that must be unique and I thank them for all they done so far and all what they will do in the future.
So go out and buy Farscape products because money seems to be besides hard work the only way to save Farscape.
Anyways, before you fall asleep, have a great life hopefully with more Farscape.
Bi

Thanks!
I really want to see people writing down all the ways possible to support Farscape. No negative thoughts, just positive ones.
Write down places to buy Farscape related stuff so I can check them out and no coppies please.
If someone has met anyone of the actors, directors and so on just tell us other farscape fans how it was because I know that no one of them will ever visit Sweden and that counts for a lot of other fans in different countries worldwide.
The more we know the more the fanbase in theese countries will grow.
Bi and thanks again!

Comicon and Scapercon are both coming up in the next couple of weeks, and Farscape actors will be attending both of them. Keep and eye on the 'rallies and cons' forums, I'm sure there will be many people posting their experiences there.

Hi again Roland!
I surely will.

And to you who might visit this page, please don't just leave! You must have something to say, I don't mind if you don't agree with what I say but you must have an opinion on the subject or anything I've been writing.
You are all welcome with positive thoughts that might save farscape.

Hi Klagad. Welcome to the board. I do agree with what you say. Boycotts are rarely successful, and there are plenty of other ways to let the networks know that Farscape is a great show and deserves a second chance somewhere.

Check out the other forums here. People have plenty of ideas to let the world know how wonderful the show is and ways to get people to start watching it.

I don't attend cons either, but don't worry, after every con there are plenty of posts from those who went and usually lots of pictures.

Hope to see you around at one of the forums here. :)
