I'd seen bits and pieces of the show before, and had at first just filed it as "yet another sci-fi show." Then last week I saw a full episode, and now I'm hooked :)
I'd been aware of the show earlier, but had never really tuned in. I think the promos for it were unfairly out of line with what the show is like. I'd gotten the impression from the promos that it was one of those shows that throws creative visuals at you and then assumes that's enough. I'm a little bit peeved about the way it was portrayed in them, if it'd been more clear that it's a smart show with strong story and character depth that (here's the key) doesn't treat the audience like they are stupid then I would have tuned in years sooner.
Anyhow, even having only seen a few episodes thus far (as we speak I'm using up the free-rental coupons I'd had lying around to catch older episodes at the local video-rental place :)), I'm ranking Farscape as easily one of the top three shows I've ever seen, with a good shot at being number one once I've seen more of it ;)
Since repeats of season four are just starting to air, I bet once 4.22 re-airs everyone else in a similar situation as myself will be demanding a fifth season as much as everyone else was last year. I suppose more viewers demanding it is a good thing :)
