View Full Version : Save Star Trek Campaign / Alliance?

STFA Pres

Hello to all Scapers here!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, as a 'Brother in Arms' so to speak. I am the president of a new international Star Trek fan club with 9,000+ members and growing called the Star Trek Fan Association (STFA). We wanted to extend an invitation for any and all interested people to visit our fan club site and take a look -- we offer lots of cool things to see and do.

www.stfanassoc.com

The other reason I wanted to stop by here was to say thanks to the Scapers from Toronto for being so wonderfully nice and helpful. The STFA has started a similar initiative like the Save Farscape Campaign, entitled the Save Star Trek Campaign (also located on our above website). Please feel free to come on by and browse around, and help support our drive. I have already sent out mass emails to our 9,000 + supporter base to come by this site and sign up to help save Scape as well. I feel like we, having similar goals for our campaigns, can always work together.

Having said that, I would also like to propose a possible alliance / partnership between our two groups. Consider it, and please let me know if this sounds like an interesting idea to you.

Thanks again for everything and "Keep on Trekkin!"... er... "Keep on Scapin!"

Mark Sickle

PS -- Please feel free to email me if you would like more information on the STFA or the Save Trek Campaign. tlc_trek_writer@hotmail.com

Hi Mark,

I apologize in the delay of any response from the site owner (me) here. I've been away at comic con this weekend. I've got your most recent email and I'm going to read over your proposal now. :D

Thanks

Red

If it happens can we call it the Interstellar Alliance?

:D

If they can help us make more noise, I don't see why not. I guess it would depend on what kind of aliance they have in mind.

Back to business - thanks for the introduction on the Save Star Trek campaign, STFA Pres - hope you enjoy yourself here, and hope both campaigns succeed.

I think this "pooling of fans" should pay off well for both campaigns, given we are both fighting for mainly the same thing - intelligent TV that we enjoy, not predictable stuff to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Have you checked out the TVC (Television Viewer's Consortium) yet? I forget their web address, if someone could provide it.

Check it out. And welcome, STFA Pres.

Absolutely! I got sick of the "fan wars" during the B5 vs. Trek era, and always felt like a minority because I watched everything. I'm a big DS9 fan myself. I'm a member of a Star Trek club that does the panels at Shore Leave, and I saw your flyers posted. While I will admit to being disappointed by the latest Trek offerings, I feel that the franchise still has a lot of life left in it. Heading out to your site now... And live long and prosper!

I too am a big fan of DS9. (Nice to see there are others like us out there.) I think an alliance is a good idea since we both want good, intelligent science fiction to watch on TV.:D

I really love this idea. If we could get all the Star Trek fans writing letters to help save Farscape and if we wrote letters to help save Trek (and it desperately needs it IMO) we could really make some noise.
