Here's a neat little questionnaire that sheds some light on who you are ... It’s been said we’re a strange bunch of people … share some of your secrets and let others see the real you ... or maybe the you that you want them to see.:ewink:
If this is the first time you are doing this quiz please try to answer them in batches of 10 or 20 ... not the whole 180 questions as this thread has been around for a while.
This is meant to be fun! So don’t take it too seriously!
I have moved the other questions to this page so answer as many or as few as you want. Just copy and paste the section to your post and add your answers.

With a quicker steering ratio... a roll-cage... and the larger 16valve 1600cc engine... make for a decent club-rally car. I traded the Corolla for an 84 Datsun wagon which turned out to be a complete and utter lemon!
grinner
07-30-2003, 08:39 AM
And to think... those Corollas are very much in demand nowadays. So versatile. Was the Datsun the 510 wagon? or the larger 710 wagon? The 510 also has a wonderful engine... but the body doesn't last. The 210 and 510 coupes are also worth their weight in gold... as with the Mazda RX-2, RX-3, and RX-5 Cosmo. If only I had one.

You have got to get out more GS ... :french: :rallydriv :moped: :boat: :space:
When I lived in Massachusetts my son and I clocked up over 60,000 miles in just 2 years ... we travellled from New Hampshire to the Carolinas and as far west as Pittsburgh - as well as a couple or 3 visits to Canada. I think we were the only idiots to visit Niagra Falls in the middle of winter ... we nearly froze our buns off! :rollin:
If you make it to Dragon Con in Atlanta you can actually get into the second time zone in Chattanooga and even see the choo choo :train: and no trip to Chattanooga is complete without a white water rafting experience :surf: on the Ocoee River!:D
Of course if you drop into Music City USA you're welcome to stow your swag and tucker bag at my billabong! ... :lol
translation ...
swag = bed-roll or sleeping bag (as in once a jolly swag man camped by a billabong)
tucker bag = a food pouch for provisions
billabong = a lake or a pool of water like a large dam on a farm

Selena, I get out a lot, I just don't go very far! I think the farthest west I've ever been is New Port Ritchie, way over on the west coast...of Florida. I want to do a cross country thing, but it's hard to schedule around work. Most people my age have done the whole "backpacking through Europe" thing, but I haven't done that, either. I'd like to go to Santo Di Stephano, a town in Sicily where my mom's family moved from in the late 1800s. That would be cool.

It's just sitting there, on top of the toilet tank lid -- small bathroom space utilization issues (as well as the inability to reach a conclusive decision on whether it should go over or under ;) ).

haha...in my grandma's house, when i was little, i was in the bathroom and decided to play secret agent. and i was trying not to touch the floor cause it would mean certain death if i did (duh) and then i put my foot on the toilet roll holder, after taking off the toilet paper, and i broke it...
so after that, until we got the thing fixed, we had the toilet paper sitting on top of the tank.

Do you have a custom color scheme set up in your browser preferences?
Or perhaps it's a "mood" background (like the rings).
Or more likely, your browser is not interpreting the color tags in the table (the page background is black, but the table background is brown).

okay, quick story. the letter E now reminds me of the Stephen King story that my friend told me about. She's a big fan but i'm not and she told me the story.
a man and a woman are getting divorced and theyre just really angry at each other all the time and they decide to once and for all meet in a restaurant and sign their papers and then say goodbye and never see each other again. so they both arrive at this restaurant and before they even sit, they're exchanging volatile insults and they're just angry. so they get seated and they cant say one nice thing to each other. during the meal every word is mean and they dont notice that the waiter there keeps saying "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"....just all the time.
and suddenly, the waiter starts to massacre people. and this couple is still sitting there in their own world, arguing so loudly that they dont understand whats going on. and this waiter is off somewhere else in the restaurant terrorizing people, shrieking "eeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" and soon there are bodies everywhere. then finally finally the couple realizes whats going on and they bolt into the kitchen, with the waiter behind them, getting ready to kill them.
and the waiter gets to the kitchen and the staff have no idea whats going on but they see the guy and panic and he kills them all and chases the couple towards the exit, but its locked and the husband tells the wife to try to get the door open while he finds some way to slow down the killer. so she's trying to get the door open and they're still hurling insults and finally she gets it open and gets out and tries to close the door behind her to trap the husband and he forces the door open and escapes.
they see the police come up, sirens blaring, and they catch the guy. and the husband and wife--they're still arguing. especially about the door and how incredibly cruel it was for her to try to trap him inside. and the wife leaves him and the husband sits down on the curb...
and he looks up and goes "eeeeeeee...it doesnt sound so bad. eeeeeeee."

I love it in the Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy when Arthur finally makes it home and finds very furry carrots in his refrigerator and is so hungry he eats them and we learn that it was just as well he did because it killed the virulent space virus he was carrying that would have decimated most of the world's population. :lol

you think if fuzzy carrots and regular carrots breeded, half the kids would be fuzzy?
Selena

according to Mendelian theroy probably! You might even get short haired carrots, long haired carrots, completely bald carrots (with a recessive gene that passes to the males but is carried by the female carrots) and those with just a little 'peach' fuzz! :rollin: and then regular carrots.

1. When I shop the one store I just can't resist visiting is …
… if they sell books and CDs, I'm there.
2. My favorite color to wear is …
… no one color, but lots of blue, black, grey, kakhi/tan.
3. The special treat I enjoy most is …
… watching Farscape tapes (of course).
4. If I could change just one thing about myself it would be …
… ONE thing???... Impossible.
5. The worst book I ever read was …
… can’t really think of a “bad” book, but I've been disappointed many times with books that "they" say are great must-reads, and to me they're just hoe-hum overrated.
6. If I could visit just one special place I haven't yet, it would be …
… not a place, but a region - the MEDITERRANEAN. I'd do almost the entire circumference. Start just outside with Portugal, then hit each of the following: southern Spain, southern France, Italy, Greece, Israel, Egypt, Morocco… maybe a few other places in between. If I had to narrow it down, it'd be Rome, Santorini and Jerusalem.
7. The person I had a secret teenage crush on was …
… (oh boy… okay, I'll admit it)… Kristy MacNichol and Nancy McKeon.
8. If I was able to change my career/occupation I would …
... :rockband: MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC…. (teaching at the college level would be second).
9. The one thing I secretly wish I had done differently was …
… only one, again???... hmmmmmm… I would not have gone back to grad school when I did. Did half of a two year program in Theatre (M.A.). I took out another student loan while I still owed on my undergrad loans. Was working Full Time during the days, went Full Time grad study at night, worked with the band (stage managing, promotion & lighting) during the weekends. Still pulled a 3.1, but they were teaching quantitatively instead of qualitatively. And I was really much more interested in film and screenwriting. Just the wrong program at the wrong school at the wrong time. Hindsight 20/20 and all that…
10. Three things in my refrigerator that have been there a long time …
… a box of Arm & Hammer baking soda, a bottle of Ouzo, and I just threw out an expired jar of Mayo.
11. The worst thing I ever got as a gift was …
… I don't mind clothes, I just hate ugly closes… I mean BUTT ugly clothes.
12. My sense of humor is best described as …
… witty, but with the occasionally groan generator (I get it from my Dad). I've been told I have a great laugh (hey, I'm just tellin' yah what I've been told, that's all) and I tend to clap when I laugh :applaud: (I have NO idea WHY).
13. If I was reincarnated, I would want to come back as …
… this is kinda open-ended. If an animal, an eagle or hawk. If a person, see Q#18 below.
14. The subject I was worst at, in school, was …
… Calculus (always did well in math, derivatives were fine, but integrals were the death of me… the veritable brick wall). :headbang: Foreign languages a close second (two years of Spanish, two years of French, no habla espanol e france’).
15. The famous person I've most wanted to meet was …
… Jesus (and I'd probably drive him nuts just by asking him so many darn questions).
16. If I had the ability to travel in time I would …
… I'm telling yah… bet on the Cubs to win the World Series in 5 games in 2021.
17. Toilet roll paper … over or under?
… wasn't this snurched from the Pet Peeves thread???... UNDER, baby!!!
18. The worst decision/choice I ever made was …
… I can't live in regrets, so I ain't gonna bother. I like actress Tallulah Bankhead's quote on the subject: "The only thing I regret about my past is the length of it. If I had to live my life over again, I'd make the same mistakes, only sooner." Now, the BEST decision I ever made was deciding to take a whole week to drive across the country (by myself), following parts of the old Route 66, when I moved to California 9 years ago.
19. Do you eat the stems of broccoli?
… yes, but I don't eat it that often, and it's usually in mixed veggies.
20. If money were no object I would …
…. Don't even go there! Too many things, and they ain't all selfish either. But, I'll tell yah when I win the Lotto. :D

39. When I was in school the one thing I excelled at was … not being there. Which isn’t as easy as it sounds because while I was still in High School, they changed the rules so that you could only be absent from any class for a maximum of 28 days. Any more then that and you lost credit. 14 days for classes that you had on every other day- like gym. So skipping had to be precise so that I could miss that maximum days but not go over….
40. Over easy or sunny side up? Sunny Side Up.

Aw, I was kidding! But I did have this thing when I was a kid. It wasn't really a teddy bear, it was like a cross between a bear and a...sheep. My great-aunt made it. It didn't really look like anything. It was simply "Wooly."
She made a bunch of them for all the grand kids. My brothers named theirs Wally Wooly and Willy Wooly or something, but mine was Wooly Wooly. I dragged that thing everywhere until the seems at the arms and legs started to tear, making the creature seem to grow a few inches taller. I think it's in my attic now. Sometimes I miss Wooly.

Follow up comment to Generic_Screenname's note about "the incident" with the stuffed animal...
When my son (then 17) and I came to the USA we had to go through all our stuff and make executive decisions about what to keep and what to toss. While going through the box of 'filled' animals (I was never permitted to call them stuffed) we found THE Teddy Bear who was also about 17 years old and a bit the worse for wear.
I asked my son what he wanted to do with the bear and he said pitch it. I was quite shocked ... then he added "I haven't been able to go near Pot for years."
"Pot?" I asked confused ... "why did you call your bear Pot?"
"It's short for pissed on Teddy."
I nearly died laughing.

My senior year of high school I wanted to take Psychology as my social studies requirement, but the class was not available during the period I needed it. So I asked if I could take Sociology. No. Mythology? No. You and the Law?(actual name of a class) No. All they had was American History, which I took the year before and you don't get credits for taking a class twice, and Current Events. Current Events was like the remedial class. It's where the put the kids that had their own kids in elementry school and the kids that liked to start fires. But there I was, right in the middle. All you had to do to pass the class was read the newspaper or watch the news, and some of them couln't even do that. The teacher started bringing in Trivial Pursuit cards and asking the questions out loud. Whoever guessed correctly would get a homework point added to their grade. I knew most of them anyway, but I had the game at home and memorized the cards (kind of like studying for a test in that class) One kid guessed "Jim Brown" for an answer and to his surprise, he was right. So from then on, any question he was asked, he'd answer "Jim Brown." That turned out to be one of the only good classes in high school.

PENIS-SHAPED PASTA. The entire..."package" shaped out of multi-colored pasta. You know, when your sister goes to Italy, you don't expect her to spend a whole lot on you, but you'd think you'd get a frelling scarf or something, not anatomically correct pasta. 31. The last movie you saw in a movie theater was …
There have been a number of flicks that I’ve wanted to see lately in the theater, but haven’t gotten around to it. The last movie I actually saw in the theater was “Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.”
32. Favorite board game …
Not much for board games, but I’ve always been fascinated with Chess. I barely play at all, even though I have a set as well as the latest version of Chessmaster on my computer. I know the rules well, can handle a two- or three-move end game okay, but openings and mid-game baffle the heck outta me (sometimes gives me a headache). Always like following the Grandmasters championship and Kasparov vs Big Blue et al matches, though.
33. Favorite magazine …
Stock answer: Farscape Magazine. Actually, my favorites have changed so much thru the years. Though, currently I don’t read much by way of magazines. More into books.
34. Favorite smell …
Smell I miss --- Mom’s home cooking.
One of my favorite “generic” smells --- cinnamon… REAL cinnamon, NOT the fake flavor in mouthwash/chewing gum/alcohol.
Favorite “memory trigger” smell --- creosote/pine tar… Let me ‘splain… Growing up in Philly, summer family vacas as a kid were the Jersey shore (Margate & Atlantic City - pre-casinos). Loved walking the boardwalk at the beach. EVERYTIME I happen to smell that pine tar/creosote (that’s used to preserve the pine boards, or telephone poles, etc.), before I can even consciously think about anything I’m immediately 8-years-old again, walkin’ the A.C. boardwalk! EVERY FRELLIN’ TIME. I LOVE IT!!!
35. Favorite fast food place …
Tryin’ hard to not eat at these places so much (gotta watch the gut, yah know). But, Wendy’s Burger & Fries wins, hands down! BK Whopper (no pickles, no onions) comes in second (hate their fries, though). Mc-ee-D’s SUCKS!!!!
Of course, WHEN I can find REAL pizza, I’m all over it like white on rice.
36. Favorite drink …
Despite my rep (re: my recipes in Foodscape II), I’m not that much of an alcohol drinker. I do enjoy a good red wine (Cab or Merlot). Maybe a Reisling or a Semillion, if I’m in the mood. No Chardonnay or Zinfandel!!!
Mixed drinks?... A Bocci Ball (Amaretto & OJ on the rocks with a spritz of club soda) and a well made Pina Colada.
37. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal?
No. But I do have several pillows.
38. How many different cities/towns have you lived in?
I’ve only LIVED in 2 --- Philly and my current locale in Southern California. Now, I’ve visited or driven thru quite a few. PA, NJ, DE, MD and NY (while I lived in Philly). Vaca’ed in CA a few times before I moved here. Drove thru and visited WV, OH, IN, IL, MO, KS, OK, TX, NM and AZ when I moved to CA in 1994. Also vaca’ed @ Big Gull Lake in Ontario, Canada a couple times in the 80s.
39. When I was in school the one thing I excelled at was …
Was a B to B+ student. Did okay in most subjects (but not Calculus and Foreign Languages, and I still can’t tell the difference between a dipthong and a dangling participle). Loved the arts (film, music & lit) and sciences (physics & astronomy).
No, and I was horrible in computer programming... and yet I ended up being a computer tech suppprt specialist for a seven years period... go figure.
40. Over easy or sunny side up?
Over easy. Don’t like my nose runny, so I don’t like my runny eggs. Though, I don’t mind the yolk being slightly “runny.” But, if the eggs are scramble they gotta be dry, or else I gag.

No way Hosea!
We try not to post things that are spoilers for those who are playing catchup with the series and we know that there are a lot of new Scapers out there who have only just started to watch. You can decide which threads you're going to participate in Tox. If you don't want any spoilers then check out the thread with the season 1 discussions ...
Community tires to warn about spoilers on most threads that are Farscapian topics.

They tried something like that at our school, but too many kids skipped too often, so that got rid of the rule. Thank goodness, because I would've failed just about everything, otherwise:D

I used to forge my mother's signature. I got so good... that when I finally got 'caught' the Principal was holding a note that I wrote along side another note that I wrote and told me that I had forged my mother's signature. So of course my mother was called into school... which wasn't hard for her to do since she was a Special Ed tutor at the same school... and was asked what was wrong. So I came clean and told them that EVERY note that was signed by my mother except for the very first one... was signed by me. Some 100 notes. The Principal then asked why my mother would allow that... and that she was a horrible mother... to which my mom replied "He has my power of attorney... he can sign whatever he wants with regards to school. " The Principal then got very angry and started to make threats about my mother... when a teacher that my mother when she was in school looked at the Principal and said... "Do you really want to go there? (My Mom) send her 5 children to this PRIVATE SCHOOL, she is a good mother... do you really want to start something... cause I can tell you that there would be MANY teachers that would back her(my Mother) up." So... the Principal backed down... and she never forgot... she tried for years to get back at me. But she always failed. The bitch.

I'll give the fluffy handcuffs a go, I just need someone to model a set for me - post me a private message with photographs attached!! ;)
I'll have some more time on my hands to work on the smilies - my 3 year old just told me that she wasn't going to be my friend anymore :'(
She was only my friend as long as I fed her anyway... but I'll get the last laugh... mwahahahahahahaha!!!!

Draft one of "Fluffy Pink Handcuffs".
It aint as easy as thought it would be...
And just coz I'm a computer programmer, it doesn't make me creative or artistic - in fact, programmers are anything but... *sob*
