I Need a farscape friend!

Hi,

I've been to the site a few times before, but never visited the forum. Just recently I've started watching farscape again from the beginning (I watch random episodes usually/mostly/all the time!) But this is the first time I'll be watching it right through to the "To be continued" episode (not the LAST episode ;o)).
....get to the point already!.... Okay, basically I'm finding it increasingly difficult to get through each day without thinking of Farscape at last once! (Okay, so Ben Browder may be the reason...) but, well, it's just that I MISS IT SO DAMN MUCH!!!
Can it really be over a year since I found out it was to be cancelled? I'm even beginning to re-introduce the word "Frell" into my vocabulary again...Frell! (ahem).

Is there anyone here that will take pity on me and befriend a poor Homo-Sapien going Cold Turkey from lack of Farscape?

I've been thinking it would be nice to start from the beginning and go straight through, but I'd really like to be able to come on line and discuss it afterwards. I started watching it from the beginning a couple of months ago and kind of left off because it bugged me to have no place to go to bat around the episode afterward.

Anyone else interested in setting up hash and rehash discussions from the beginning?

We've been doing that over at Kansas since...I think a week after Bad Timing? We took a week off and then started in with Premiere. Every Friday night discussion starts on the next episode. This week's is Family Ties. Come join, if you'd like. :)

Thanks Kerlin. I don't wander over there very often, so I guess I missed that little tidbit of information. It's only been recently that I've felt like I could watch episodes without the pain of it's end overwhelming the joy it always brings. You guys are made of sturdier stuff than I am.

I really like what you said in your intro, it just about sums up how I feel, and I guess how eveyone else feels on this forum. Ok, maybe I'm not into Ben Browder in quite the same way as you are. ;)

I was so eager to watch Farscape [on more than a weekly base] that I started watching Farscape from Premiere again whilst still watching the unseen 2nd half of S4 on the BBC. At a certain point I reluctantly had to cut down my DVD "catch up" cos I was getting close to the fact that I was running out of them [S4 concluded on the BBC and I ran out of DVDs/eps to watch]. Now I still have box set 4.4 left to watch and I am forcing myself already for weeks to wait until the final box set 4.5 arrives, which will probably be this week. I know myself: the moment I start watching Farscape I for sure will watch at the very least a whole box set [4 to 6 eps] and usually more than that.

Maybe I'll watch volume 4.4 today knowing that 4.5 will arrive this week?! [it's been weeks since I saw Farscape] For sure I will start all over again within a couple of weeks.

We all miss Farscape, narya, we all do :cry2:
but at least some of us are lucky [myself included] to have the number ONE tv show on DVD.

P.s. that's a nice idea LadyCrais but I most say that it will be very difficult for me to have the strength to watch only 1 ep p/week. As I already mentioned I sometimes watch 8 eps per session [happily I can control myself and stop cos otherwise I would see all seasons in an eye blink, well sort of ya know what I mean].

:lol: Actually watching more than one ep is exactly my problem. I have the entire series Tivo'd at this point. When I finally started watching a few weeks ago, I'd watch 2-4 episodes a night, because it was always, "just one more"! It's that addiction thing. :D Which is kind of why I made myself stop again, because I really was ignoring other things that I need to do.

So yeah, that's the whole conundrum with trying to set up a discussion group once a week. It might be more plausible to do four a week or something.

Glad to have you here! I think we all suffer from the sadness, withdrawal symptoms, etc., to varying degrees. That is why we gather here. So we have other "crazies" to talk about Farscape - with the same depth and passion that no one else in our life may be willing or able.

I also come here so I can say frell and such without getting a funny look from someone. My husband absolutely refuses to acknowledge that Farscape words are real words until they are actually in a published dictionary, so he looks at me like I'm uttering jibberish. And he even likes the show!

I just got the Season 1 boxed set a few weeks ago and we're slowly working our way through it together. I've been taping the entire 4 seasons - almost done soon - and I've been watching those - but the DVD's are so much nicer. We watched the show from the first episode, but you forget so much 4 years later!

I don't think I could handle a one episode a week discussion either. It's sort of feast or famine with me. I'll get a chance and watch a whole bunch of episodes and then go a few weeks without watching any. Wish I could, but I'm sure there are disciplined people who could. Check out the Farscape Discussion area - there's even a section for each season. You may find a discussion going on the episode you just watched - or go ahead and post the episode you want to talk about. Someone may have the time to go watch it and come back to discuss it.

Hey, Narya... I started doing the same thing. I'm now up to Season 4, ep 4 (Lava's...). Took a one week break, and will start-up again with Promises this week. Be prepared to have your eyes open(n)ed :eek: with the little details you missed the previous times around. :D

I usually do watch the series through in the season breaks, haven't done it this time because I haven't got the whole of S4 on video.........it's a long story.......when I have I will be watching it through from start to......er.......interuption. :lol
