This is the thread for the most memorable and moving farscape momments for you. the ones that really showed what teh show was for you, and made you care for the characters.
the one that i like the most is when Chiana tries to "thank" john in family ties. It just showed so much about her, and that was the only way she knew how to thank someone. And johns response was just so perfect that it really was one of those momments that has always stuck with me after i saw it.

The first one that comes to mind, I don't think is exactly what your're looking for here, but I'll say it anyway. :D

D'Argo's scream at the end of Bad Timing. I was able to hang onto my own emotions watching the entire episode, right up to that point. When he screamed, though, and Anth put so much anquish into it, I just lost it. (I won't get into the rumor Anthony himself started as to why there was so much anguish in that scream, but those who went the the Bad Boys of Farscape panel at Scapercon will know what I'm talking about. :ewink: )

OK SebaceanBabe, don't tease us!!! What exactly was said?!?!?!? FS minds want to know... Some of us couldn't attend and I'd love to know what Anth said about "that" moment...
As for me, there were so many moments that I'd be hard pressed to pick only one or a FEW for that matter!
One of them would of course be in "Bad Timing" (BTW, one of the most appropriately named shows, IMO) and I'm gonna have to go and watch some DVDs in order to correctly ID by way of epi some more...

Memorable + moving......
The look on Scorpy's face at the end of Incubator always makes me weep.
Sikozu glowing
Chi being twinned (actually, almost all Chi scenes...)
John caving in Aeryn's head in S2
Pilot having his arm chopped off
Aeryn sedating Chi in 'the Locket'
The death of Xhalax......
Toooooo many.........

D'Argo's scream at the end of Bad Timing.
This was an emotional one for me as well as at the end of Liars, Guns, and Money when John asks D'Argo to kill him and D'Argo takes John's face in his hands was also very moving.
And there are just too many others to mention, like whenever anyone died on the show, I just bawl like a baby!
:cry2:

Ok, Kymom, according to Anth, when they were filming the scene and, Gigi was right there with him and she reached between his legs and, er, squeezed. Hard. I'm not certain I believe him, but it does make for a good story.
BTW, John asking D'Argo to kill him is definitely another mega moving moment.

Oh! And when Stark couldn't get to Zhaan before she "left" was another really emotional moment. Something about men crying just tugs at my heart strings :cry2:

The one that always gets to me is when D'Argo approaches Pilot at the end of DNA Mad Scientist. You can tell he's dying to be forgiven but can't/won't ask. So he offers his music to Pilot instead. The gentle look of pleased surprise on Pilot's face just kills me.
So many other moments to choose from too...

- Aeryn's funeral
- D'Argo playing the shilquen for Pilot as an apology
- Aeryn crying resting her head into Pilot's head, can't remember the episode but the scene is easily recognizable.
- Pilot saying yes to being disconnected from Moya to help close the wormhole
- Rygel saying goodbye to John in Family Ties
- John saying goodbye to Aeryn in Famiily Ties. I love the line of: "Here's hoping history repeats itself" and the way they touch their hands..
- The Death of Zhaan
- When Crais says "Talyn...starburst" i burst into tears, the whole scene breaks my heart.
- The look on Scorpy when he saw the command carrier being destroyed in "Into the Lion's Den"
- The final scene in Green Eyed Monster: "That's my point of reference-- my guide-- and it always becomes the center of my chart. I always name it Aeryn. "
- Do i need to go on, this show is so awesome that i would have to keep writing for the rest of the afternoon

I think my most memorable moment, if i could actually pick just one, would have to be in the Premiere, when Crichton realizes that he's "not in Kansas anymore".
Aeryn and Pilot reconciling in The Way We Weren't
Crichton considering the magnitude of their failure in Different Destinations
Crichton seeing his daughter for the first and last time in LATP3
Crichton saying goodbye to the dead Aeryn in The Locket
TJohn's scenes from the radiation burn to the end of IP2
Oh, about half the scenes in The Choice
Talyn's crew arriving on Moya and greeting John in Fractures
Crais's sacrifice in ITLD2

Rygel "talking Aeryn down" from the ledge in The Choice.

First time I heard Rygel fating heelium. WOW, that green guy sure has some acting talant, I thought to my self. All those emotions at the same time as he has to make such a physical effort.
No wonder all the other actors look up to him... I even heard in "Undressed" that STEVEN SPIELBERG had called to get him in a movie! And I know he will do as good work in "E.T-2" as in Farscape.
RYGEL...PHONE HOME!!! ;D

#Twice Shy when Aeryn realises John is telling the truth about Scorpy using the comms and they pretend to break up whilst grinning at each other.
#D'Argo complaing about paper beating rock in rock, paper, scissors in Mind the Baby
#John carrying Aeryn back to Moya away from her Scarran torture

'Different Destinations'
When Stark was trying so desperately to get to Zhaan, it felt like your soul was being ripped out.
"Always together, Joined as one" - Zhaan
(cant remember ep)
Aeryn and John choosing fate by coin toss. I know I am missing some of the dialog on this one.
"Do you love John Crichton?"
dialog
"Do you love Aeryn Sun?" - Aeryn
"Beyond all hope." - John
"Then don't make me stay, and don't make me say goodbye." - Aeryn

The Tag scene from Look at the Princess, Pt3, Aeryn pulls out the vial to see if she and John are compatable, the kiss, and the look on her face as she turns away. And she draws you into the scene without uttering ONE word!

Those last scenes of Dog With Two Bones - actually most of the episode including the wedding in John's mind.
John reacting to his long dead Mother in Won't Get Fooled Again-such pain.
In A Constellation of Doubt when John makes the deal with Scorpius.
The death of John Crichton on Talyn - and the scene where he realizes he has been terminally radiated.
The death of Aeryn Sun
Okay the whole show....

Loads.
One that immediately comes to mind is Ghost-John appearing to Aeryn in The Choice
"Was it easy to be a hero.....?"
One of my favorites was "out of their minds", where they all kept switching bodies. With a less gifted cast this may not have worked but they all had each others mannerisims down. What a hillarious episode.

I can't belive no one has mentioned this yet. Constellation of Doubt, the entire frelling episode. Hands down my FAVORITE episode. If I had to choose one scene though, it would have to be the scene with John and Sikozu.
Both of them deserve an emmy for the sheer emotion that comes out of that. John lashing out at anyone and everyone, and Sikozu's heart breaking in rage, and hurt.
"EVERYTHING lives, and EVERYTHING dies, and you have to deal with it!"
Then her singing in documentary, this part of Sikozu we'd thought we'd never see in a million years, and the look on John's face when it all comes together. It's hard to breath everytime I see that.

What everyone else said, plus:
Aeryn listens as her mother "dies" in "Relativity"
John remembers the farewells from D'argo, Rygel, Chiana, and Aeryn in "Dog With Two Bones"
John says goodbye to Earth in "Terra Firma"
Edited to add: Aeryn says "Hello, John" to MoyaJohn in "Fractures"
On a happier note:
The first glimpse of Moya in "Promises"
The shared laughter when everyone reappears in Pilot's den in "Through the Looking Glass"

Bad Timing: John tape-recording himself to leave on Earth's moon. Most of that episode, actually, but that was the first part that made me cry.

Its like everything John has gone through the past four years all at once.
John: When you wake up in the morning on your big Emperor bed and you listen what do you hear? Do you hear the little Emperor birdies singing outside your window? Do you hear the Emperor wind whistling through the trees? Or do you hear people dying? Do you hear your friends begging for mercy? Do you hear doors being kicked in because people are hunting you? Do you hear the sound of your heart pounding in you rears? What I want Santa Claus? For the rest of my life, I want to wake up like an Emperor.
John: Hi honey. Guess what I did at work today? I wore a bomb. A nuclear bomb in a field of flowers. I could get lucky. Tomorrow I could have a bigger bomb. I could kill more people. Maybe they'll be innocent people. Children, maybe.
Scorpious: I do not loose!
John: Be happy to give you lessons
Jack: (picking up phone) Hello.
John: Hey dad.
Jack: John where are you?
John: Serenity base.
Jack: Serenity base?
John: Yeah, the moon.
Jack: Why didn't you make Earth orbit?
John: Murphy dad. We've got a little problem.
Jack: Worse than the three hundred dollar clipboard that you can put paper in when it's upside down?
John: Yes. The Scarrans have located Earth and they're on their way.
Jack: What can we do?
John: Nothing. I gotta do it.
Jack: What the hell's that mean? Why do you have to do it? You've already done enough son.
John: I'm gonna seal up the wormhole. That will isolate Earth, but it should protect it.
Jack: Then how do we get into deep space?
John: The old fashioned way. You build a rocket. I've left you technology and navigation information here at your flagpole.
Jack: How long do we have?
John: Not long.
Jack: Then take me with you. Take us all. We're ready. Five hundred of the world's best. We can help.
John: There's no time.
Jack: What do you mean there's no time? For Moya to get to the Earth? What's it take, a blink of the eye, two seconds, c'mon son!
John: We're down to minutes dad. How do you want to spend them?
Jack: Son. Listen, the Secretary General of the U.N., he speaks for the planet on all space matters now. We're starting to come together, just like you wanted.
John: That's good, keep that up.
Jack: I was looking forward to going with you boy.
John: Well, sometimes things don't happen quite the way you imagine them. Tell Susan and Liv that I love them and I'll contact you if I can. Tell everyone.
Jack: I will son. You tell my grandkids about me.
John: Well, that's a no brainer. They gotta know who my hero is.
Jack: You're gonna find when you have your own, you'll want them to pass you, be better, climb higher. I guess if that's the measurement, I'm the greatest dad on Earth.
John: I love you dad.
Jack: You're the heart and soul of my life. I love you son.
John: Good-bye.
John: You know what scares the hell out of me? From the first moment I layed eyes on you, I could never see the end.
Aeryn: What scares me is I always could
Oh and .when Crais first comes aboard Moya and him and John have that little heart to heart while he is in the cell.

So many good memories to read here....
Just re-watched The Premiere Saturday evening. John is walking through the market place, and he looks, and says, "I am on an alien planet." The look of wonder and joy, trepidation, excitement, and pleasure is touching. He is so awed to be there.
And then he is captured, breaks loose with D'Argo, and tells the soldiers, "Hold still, or I'll fill you with...little yellow bolts of light." And his face as he says that, so bemused.
Aeryn jumps on his face, and he is on his back, her knees around his head, and she says, "name, rank, regiment!"
As a first meeting, I don't know when I have seen better.
Wonderfull.

All the above and: When John and his sister are at the table talking. It just felt like those two had actually known each other their whole lives.
D'Argo giving John the good news/bad news in Look at the Princess just before he was turned into a statue. :rollin:
John finding his first grey hair.
There are too many to mention that bring tears to my eyes, but when Talayn-John dies, the whole of Prayer and the last 2 minutes of Bad Timing have to be the main ones!

Episode 122 FAMILY TIES
CRICHTON: How're you doing?
CRAIS: Why would you ask?
CRICHTON: I look at you...and I get homesick. I'm desperate for human, male-to-male conversation. And I figure cars, football, they're out of the question.
CRAIS: Do you think it's an accident, our species are so much alike?
CRICHTON: You know the answer to that?
CRAIS: No. It's one of the mysteries I will miss solving.
CRICHTON: Yeah. Kinda makes you feel your mortality, doesn't it? Being in there, that's what it's like for us every day. Every hour. Every minute. Every second, with you riding our asses.
CRAIS: I understand you didn't mean to kill my brother. It was an accident. I realize that now, as I look back and try to understand it all.
(Close shot of Crichton's face. A tear rolls down his cheek.)
CRICHTON: Do you have any idea what you put me through? All of us through?
CRAIS: I thought it was about my brother. It should've been about my brother. Somewhere along the way my priorities..decayed. I realized I'd became more concerned with my own image and career.
CRICHTON: If you mean to help, now's the time.

Another painful scene was in order to find and save Aeryn from the Scarrans, John had to travel into an alternate reality and kill the Aeryn/Chiana in 'Prayer'.
Aeryn/Chiana: "What is he talking about? What is he talking about?"
John: "Look... I know this doesn't make any sense... but you're gonna die in half an arn and there's nothing I can do to stop that."
Aeryn/Chiana: "What? What do you mean? I'm not gonna die."
John: "Yes, you are."
Aeryn/Crichton: "Listen, Crichton. Are you in some kind of trouble? Who is this fek? Is he making you do this? If you untie me, I can help you. I always do."
Scorpius: "It is not Aeryn."
John: "Looks a lot like her."
Aeryn/Chiana: "Okay... the joke's over. Okay? I, uh... I was stupid to take it this seriously... cause it's a joke. Right? You ha... you have to stop because... because you can't kill me. You... you can't."
John: "No. No I can't."
Scorpius: "I can."

My memorable moments:
Pilot catching Aeryn when she has heat delirium in Exodus from Genesis
Stark comforting John in The Hidden Memory
The compatibility scene between John & Aeryn at the end of LAPT 3
John's "this is cruel" scene with his dying mother in WGFA
The Locket - the whole episode, but especially when John is sitting on the steps of the transport cradling dead Aeryn
LG&M part 3 - Aeryn takes charge!
DMD - Aeryns funeral
Season of Death - John realising that Aeryn is alive, the "I shouldn't be here" scene & the realisation that Zhaan has sacrificed herself
Self Inflicted Wounds 2 - Zhaan meets her Goddess
Green Eyed Monster - "would you like to name some stars?"
IP2 - "Don't worry about me..." its the tolling bell right after John dies that gets me every time
The Choice - all of Aeryns scenes
ITLD 2 - "Talyn...Starburst"
DWTB - everything from the false wedding to "Aeryn is with child"
Promises - the scene where Aeryn & John are first reunited.
A Prefect Murder - the whole episode
Kansas - when John shows Aeryn who his mother is and tells her he is going to speak to her
Twice Shy - Aeryns realisation that John is right. (I waited 16 episodes for that reunion!! I was very emotional!)
Bringing Home the Beacon - John shoots the biloid and then can't move from it's side
Prayer - this entire episode
WSS 1,2 & 3 - all of these are so memorable to me because the end of Farscape was coming. The scene with the evil looking spike contraption when they want to switch Aeryn's baby to Chiana & Aeryn's scream was particularly memorable - that was way too realistic.
BT - it's D'Argo's scream that does it every time. And I still worry that parts of crystalized John & Aeryn fell in the water (what the frell is wrong with me?!).

Into The Lion's Den, Part Two: Wolf In Sheeps Clothing; the command carrier is imploding, everyone's evacuating, John goes to his module where he meets Scorpius.
JOHN
Tell me. Ghandi... You still goin' after Earth?
SCORPIUS
To what purpose? Vengeance against you? The only vengeance I cared about is no longer within my grasp
Scoripus's line is said with an extreme closeup and, I swear to god, his eyes water. Yeah... I got chills from Scorpius! He's the shiznit. Watch it and tell me you don't get the same reaction.

After Chiana betrays D'Argo and he goes to die. She tries to talk him out of it and he tells her never to speak to him then she starts begging john to stop him. It shows how much she truly does care about him. The Jothee comes up "Is my Dad dead." something in the way he says that and John kicks him out of the room. AHHHHHHH and then Jothee says godbye to chiana and she looks so defensless once he finds out she used him and yet he does no hate her. And D'Argo is watching unknown and burns the thingy that the tatooes came in I just rewatched it can you tell?

Green Eyed Monster- When Aeryn is showing Talyn what it is to "need" someone in order to save John's life. Love that moment.
Home on the Remains- One of the funniest for me is when the Keedva is trying to attack John and he jumps on Rygels throne sled. I love the "screw you!" line.
Green Eyed Monster again- Stark and Rygels argument is hilarious. My favorite line is from Rygel: "Wonderful Stark, they can now die laughing!"
I could go on forever. The entire show is memorable!:D

I could add to the list but I think what I say to nebies when I first sit them downto watch this show sums it up best:
"Not a single episode has not made me say 'Oh my god,' at least once for some reason. Oh and watch out for the eye thing. Not the first one...the second one."
Oh my god moment examples:
When I first realized why Chricton was seeing Scorpy in his head in season 2.
Aeryn's prowler crashing into that lake.
The Flax (omg they are already making out this hsow is sooo gonna get cancelled)
Dissected Rygel

All of the Locket ep....
At the end of "Cracker Don't Matter" when D'argo asks Rygel for forgiveness, Rygel says no, then comes back and says "not yet anyway"
When John Talks to his Dad from the moon in Bad Timing.
Every scene involving A close moment with John and Aeryn.
The look on Chianna's face when D'argo finds out of her infidelity.
And the list goes on.....

While we're on the subject of memorable moments - is the song during Aeryn's funeral on the Farscape CD?

Most moving momment i still say ( i think i weighed in here before) is dog with two bones. In chrichtons head when he finally realizes the truth.
Another moving one is at the end of season 1 where john was talking to rygel and at the end he barely says "thank you....for the possessions". It just showed a turning point for frog boy.

Green Eyed Monster again- Stark and Rygels argument is hilarious. My favorite line is from Rygel: "Wonderful Stark, they can now die laughing!"
I totally agree - Rygel is absolutely hilarious. My other favourite of his is from IP 1 - "Perfect. The half blind leading the blind!"

Another thread about Rygel not being on very many of the DVD covers reminded me of the moment from the end of OOTM, where he says, "I'm back, too. Back to being me. Back to being ignored." Both funny and sad at the same time.

most memorable moments:
i would have to say:
1) crightons twin dying on talyn
2) john telling aeryn "you would have fit in on earth just fine"
3) end of season one, john and dargo "i love hanging with you man"
4) Bad timing........ "what scares me the most is that from the first time i say you i could never see the end (john).....what scares me, is that i always could "(aeryn) ......go back and watch it all again....you can see she knows she will end up with crighton! its soooooooooo deep! (i mean sure we all knew...but its cool to notice these things anyway!)
5) john and dargo discussing when they lost their puberty....dargo "i was 8" man that kills me every time! and its what makes farscape so good....humour mixed in at the most unappropraite moment!...other great humourous mentions: episode one: "you fart helium?", Dargo: "at least he's out of your nose hair", aeryn: " he gives me a woody"
im sure their are more memorable moments, but those 5 came ot mind! some episodes alone i think are memorable : the locket, bad timing, john quixote... but those are my two sense, im sure someone will correct my quotes but there u go!

There are certain moments that just give me chills:
1) Like whenever they storm into some place with those big leather jackets on, guns blazing like in LG&M!
2) When they return to Moya to find the committee from earth and John calls the rest of the gang. When D'Argo comes around the corner... just amazing!
I probably could think of more!
Just watched "The Locket" for the first time...
I was in tears when John cradled the dead Aeryn on the steps of the transport pod!

hmm... I think the whole scene from "Terra Firma" when Aeryn is crying asking John if he'd be happier if she left Earth. I started balling, it was sooo cruiel. Does anyone have that whole scene like memorized? I'd like to add it to my e-mail signature, but only seen it twice, and havn't been able to write it down from crying.

Look At The Princess - part 3
"You take care of my little girl."
That one line hits me so hard. After John gets (I feel unjustly) spurred by Aeryn, he tries to get away from the mind game between them. Then we spend three episodes watching John continuously trying to escape a rock and a hard place: He almost gets killed several times, his body is frelled with, his head is chopped off, he almost loses Aeryn, he faces his foe head-on while he's defenseless, he says goodbye all the friends he's come to depend on and he gives up the slight chance of going back to Earth to see his father and friends.
....And the end result is that nothing much changes for him........except he loses a daughter who will never know him, and he'll never really meet. Damn powerful.
I'm surprised no one came up with The Way We Weren't. That whole episode was touching.
On a lighter note,
Out of Their Minds.
"You've been in my shoes, I've been in your pants......"
Then John gets up out of shot towards Aeryn "Why you..."

The scene in IP:IA (part 2) when Crichton realizes that he's a dead man, picking up the sand in his hands and letting it slip through his fingers. Then Aeryn drives up behind him and asks if he's okay. He answers "yes". Of course, he's far from okay.........but watching it you're not really sure what just happened. I remember thinking...........well......maybe he's alright after all.

I really love Family Ties. The whole episode is very moving...I have never felt for science fiction characters like that before. John telling Rygel about doing the right thing. Chiana trying to thank John: "Never before the big game". John and Aeryn talking about their fathers. And then "hey you bastards...John Chrichton was here". The whole episode is a work of art. Beautiful from start to finish.

A few other scenes:
John freaking out in the hallway, during Liars Guns & Money. I have this trilogy of episodes on my only Farscape DVD, and I love it.
John/Harvey killing Aeryn. Specifically, right after John snaps out of it and realizes what he's done. He's so helpless. All he can do is sit there and watch Aeryn crash into the frozen lake. A painful scene.
All of Won't Get Fooled Again. I am almost tempted to buy this one on DVD, even though I'm not a huge fan of the surrounding episodes. The whole episode is pure genius. Laugh out loud funny, with an intriguing story that plays itself out perfectly. And the dramatic scene, with John's mom begging him to stay with her while she dies. Probably the harshest scene I've ever watched. It nearly brought me to tears--the whole thing reminded me of my own mother.

Two moments in particular stand out for me.
The first - the look on John's face when he says "I'm on another planet" in Premiere. :)
The second - the look on Harvey's face when John is about to execute him in "Promises". :(

I cried so much during that scene, even though I know in Season 3 she's brought back to life!

Me too.
It is truly amazing how a show such as this brought forth so many emotions and memories- happy, sad, anger, empathy, etc.
Also, some episodes parallel reality. What other series could have done that!
Must go! The office clock is going to start ticking :grr:

I agree with CattieBrie..who can forgeet Crais's parting shot...he was a great character (and a grubbier one than chrichton for us ladies!) and it was perfect way for him to go out in style and to round off how the character had developed throughout the series.
On a similar note, what about Zhaan's exit? I just loved the character..a real modern woman...soft on the outside (most of the time), but tough as old boots under the surface...shame she didn't get a mention later on in season 4.

That's Skiffy for you.
Zhaan truly was the mediator of the Moya crew. She never judged anyone based on their appearances, rather looked inside the pysche to find beauty. Zhaan's last words to Stark (memory foggy) "Peace of mind, Peace of heart.."
It was such a pitty that as Season 2 wore on Zhaan had less and less to do as a character...

I think that was when Virginna Hey started to experience problems due to her make-up.
Apparently, the dyes and materials used on her face and body effected her internally.

Virginia has recovered and has gone into/will be starting in the naturopath (sp?) and aromatherapy business.
Just to give everyone an idea as to how dedicated this lady was to her character. Ginny had to: shave her eyebrows and hair, clip her eyelashes and had the majority of her body in blue even right down to the inside of her mouth (I maybe wrong and apologize for misinformation), however, the eyebrows, eyelashes and hair is correct.
