The consensus seemed to be that this could be a useful forum, so here you have it.

I don't think anybody will mind if you post TV news in the main OT forum, that's not a problem, what this forum is for is to discuss specific tv shows. The main OT forum moves pretty quickly, and I think that having a subforum for this can lead to some good discussion about other tv shows without the posts getting quickly buried.

As for threads going off topic of the already off topic topic, eh, whatever. I come from a board of notorius threadjackers - personally I'm not a huge stickler for staying rigidely on topic if the flow of conversation/discussion is taking you in a different direction.

So ... talk about your other favorite shows, or the horrific shows, or whatever TV you like right here.

p.s. it'll take me a bit to move over the threads from the main OT forum. I'm on a painful dial-up connection so I may not get them all moved over for a couple of days. But I'm working on it.

I have no problem with these sub-forums... the only thing that they don't have is the handy reply boxes at the bottom. In order to reply... you actually have to use the post reply button.

as an aside... are the Trivia Games based on television shows going to be moved into this forum as well?

not really. I prefer the ability of having the quick response field on the bottom of the page.

I'm not sure why the quick response boxes aren't showing up in the subforum - I'll check when I get my DSL back.

if you can get them back... that would change my reticence about splitting the forums. Because other than the fact that splitting forums seperate the discussions... I don't the not having the handy quick response boxes.

Would it be a good idea to discuss motion pictures in here too? Both TV and movies are visual in a way.

It might help balance the activity a little more.
The first page of the main OT forum is sometimes completely filled with the day's most active threads.
But in the TV forum, the current-day active threads only go halfway down the first page.
