I really like this show. It is superbly acted, I love the subtle characterizations and the interesting and innovative way they replay the same scene from the different characters' perspectives. I almost missed it last night, didn't even know it was back on the air. I can not believe how networks can pay so little attention to good shows, shuffling them around, putting them in hiatus, cancelling them...... oh, wait, yes, I can believe it.
"Keen Eddie" was, in my opinion, another creative, innovative, stylish, well-written, produced and acted program that Fox just purposely buried.

creative, innovative, stylish, well-written, produced and acted programs are more expensive than cheaply done ratings-grabbers. It makes sense to bury them because the ratings don't justify the cost. That's the way ABC did Twin Peaks. I don't like it either.
However, what if someone did manage a ratings grabbing premise mixed with an equal dose of well-produced dramy/comedy/scifi? Seems easy enough.

I love this show. Watched it from the beginning of last season and think it's brilliant and incredible. :)

I've only watched it a couple of times, but I really like the way they tell the story from each person's perspective. Makes for a more well-rounded stroyline. Plus, Donnie Wahlberg is a nice weekly substitution for his gorgeous brother! We don't get to see nearly enough of Mark!
I got 4 of my friends watching it, best thing since Hill Street (in it's time)
get's my vote for something good to watch.:aok:

Well, we may need to start a campaign to NBC on its behalf I guess.....check out Matt Roush's column this week:
Question:
Could you please explain to me what's going on with Boomtown? I heard the network shut down production for two weeks because they didn't want a two-story arc. It sounds to me like Jeff Zucker wants to turn it into another Law & Order show and as far as I'm concerned, there are too many of those on the air now. Boomtown will be on for longer than six weeks... won't it? Please say yes! It's the best show on network television! — Sasha
Matt:
I'm a huge fan of Boomtown as well, and am also troubled by this news of a production shutdown this early in the season to address the network's concerns that the show was going to overtax viewers who might miss an episode in its lousy new Friday-night time period. The show barely got renewed in the first place, and now I'm worried that NBC will force it to be dumbed down, which would likely result in a drop in what's already a shaky viewership and thus confirm the network's own lack of enthusiasm toward its longterm prospects. I'm hoping I'm wrong. Homicide thrived in this time period for a number of seasons, and a show as offbeat as Ed has been allowed to survive into its fourth year. Anything's possible. But I think we have our work cut out for us on this one.

I love Boomtown!
Fearless is my favorite, but I can honestly say there isn't a character on this show I don't like. Even the pain in the ass DA!
That last shot of him in the premiere episode this season was classic!

I agree about the DA. Since I work in a law firm, I thought that bit about getting the guy off the DUI was hilarious! (and frighteningly realistic)

ARE YOU ALL OFF YOUR FRELLING ROCKERS?!?!? Nobody on this website should admit to watching Boomtown. Look at the facts as stated earlier. We all kinda liked Keen Eddy. It got the axe. Farscape, nuff said. Firefly, need I say more?
Anything that's new, different, doesn't fit into the plug and play mold, we like and it gets the axe. Y'all need to admit to liking Scare Tactics or something like that so that dren'll get cancelled, but I don't suppose that will ever happen.
