The writers on this show are super-smart. Last week's episode had some wonderful contrasts - with the lesbian nurse sleeping with the transgender patient and the over-sexed doctor shutting-out his too-hot patient, and the fake Brit guy coming out as a Vermonter.
Last week, when it was fresher, I had some more concise thoughts about it, but that's about all I can muster after midnight.

I confess, this is my guilty pleasure show. I missed the first few minutes (I had been out of town), but it kept up the same unique twists & turns that every ep has had so far. I also thought it was sad when Megan killed herself, but it's hard to feel sorry for a guy who is cheating on his wife. Then again, I'm not really sympathetic for Julia, considering the way she's been acting either. I hate getting attached to characters who are so morally corrupt, but I can't help it! This show just sucks you in - plus it has Julian McMahon. What more do we need?? :D

This show continually surprises me. Just when I think it's going in an exploitative direction, it does something completely different. For instance, when they did the threesome between Sean's son and the two girls, it could've been played in a stereotypical manner, with the girls' desire taking a backseat to the guy's. Instead, I thought it was shot in an interesting and sensitive manner. This show is a lot more thoughtful than it seems like it will be, even as it also pushes the envelope in terms of sex and graphic depictions of plastic surgery. Plus, Julian McMahon kicks eema! :D

Wow. I am blown away. The comments you guys gave about the show made me tune in last night. It was a great hour of chills, thrills and tears.
I originally thought this was a reality show so I avoided it. But now I am glad. Great show.

Glad you liked it. Initially, I was leery of it, too, because I thought it was going to try too hard to be shocking. It does fall into that trap sometimes, but other times it works. I blame my initial impression on bad marketing, which seems to push the sensationalistic aspect of the show and misses its more interesting aspects.
Mmm, I might have to check it out next week.

It's not something I would ever admit I watched to my mother, but definitely a guilty pleasure! It's amazing the things we hide from our parents, even when we no longer live with them!

Early this a.m. I was checking the schedule for 'Nip/Tuck' and realised that Oct. 15-19 (Wednesday thru Sunday) they're going to be replaying the first 10 episodes, at the rate of 2 a night, starting with the Pilot episode.
So, rev-up your VCRs or Tivos, folks - though I'd just as soon buy it on DVD...

*Elderly dog flat-lines on the surgical table while undergoing hair-plug transplants*
Doctor to nurse: "Well, DO SOMETHING!!!"
Nurse to doctor: "What - Mouth to Mouth?!!!"
Exasperated Doctor: " YES !!! "
Nurse: "SCREW YOU, A$$-HOLE !!!" *leaves room*
:rollin::rollin::rollin::rollin:
*Doctor fumbles his own attempts at Mouth-to-Mouth, cuz he's actually only a human Doc, and not a Vet. Though the doc wasn't qualified to be a Vet, he'd decided to attempt the operation just cuz the dog's owner dangled an enormous amount of cash in front of him.*
This still isn't revealing that much about the episode, cuz there's multiple plots going on, and it keeps twisting better through the hour.

One thing that bothered me - Julia going back to the genetics lab to get the results of her test. That she ever had doubts about who her son, Scott's father is/was awkward - I think that the audience has been too far ahead of characters on that plot-point.
Smart as the writers are, they should have put a wrinkle in it - in a previous episodes they closed a confrontation between Julia and Christian with a long, 'meaningful' close up of Scott's portrait sitting on a mantelpiece in the same room. Scott ought to have had dyed-blond streaks in his hair or something - he's been 'innuendoed' as Christian's son from way, way back. Even if the paternity test came back negative, I'll still have my doubts.
There's also a interesting story developing with Christian, though if you blinked, you'd miss it: In the Priest-Pedofile episode, it was revealed that Christian was adopted, so he's not going to hang his newborn 'son' out to to dry - I wish the writer-director had emphasized that point just a bit more.. maybe it just hit the cutting-room floor. I guess Ms. Gilsig's character can't call him 'asshole' anymore.
Oh yeah - I might be wrong, but I don't think that there are plastic surgeons out there that are *that* good - maybe after repeated surgeries you'd approach that kind of resemblance, but not a one-shot face job. And then, he might get off on fingerprint technicalities. But the voice-dubbing in that last scene was a nice touch...

That was getting to be quite the sex scene - not an erotic one, mind you, but there was some serious flesh going on! I'm still amazed with the lengths this show goes to. I do think it was a good season finale. I didn't think Shawn could go through with killing Tattoo Boy, though. I'm glad they didn't go that route. He could use a new face and less paint. That guy always creeps me out!

I thought it was great that the the Curly haired dr...killed the dog....plus everyone knows you cover the dogs mouth and do mouth to mouth through the nose....
Christans sex scene.....Whoa.......Nice...
I agree that Patrick is Christan's son...I figured that out a long time ago...and Julia's been sleeping with Christan on and off....
Don't you think Shawn always looked stressed out...
I loved that show last night, that I actually watched it twice....and I was very disappointed that it wasn't Christans baby; I thought they should of exspounded on that alittle more with the bitch mom with the foul mouth...
I liked the ending, it was great....Escarbar being duped. Also the doc'c could of never pulled off taking out the pts kidney without proper equipment....and without the anthestesiolgist....The supper scene was alittle serene......too..but sweet...can't wait for next years eps.....

OMG - the sex scene with christian.....i was ROTFLMAO - i always wondered how one would have sex in the 9th month of pregnacy........and i enjoyed how they tied up alot of the plot lines but still left stuff......LOVE what they did to the drug dealer.....that is just desserts! and THANK GOD they told the dog guy no.....because it is about time that one of these freaky bad luck operations DIDN"T happen on thier table......i have totally become addicted to this series.....i love how they push buttons.....not surte how i will be able to wait for next season.....and i havent' said that about a show since farscape!
This thread is so confusing me:confused: ....Julia and Sean's sons name is Matt, correct? In one post he is being referred to as Patrick and in another as Scott. Or am I reading the posts wrong? Julia had the paternity of Matt tested to see if he is Christians son, right? Okay. Anyway.
The show is fun. And graphic. And I haven't missed one episode yet.

At first it is a little rough to follow. I had missed the very beginning of the show. I am hooked on this show. I have to say I put my hands over my eye's sometimes because it get's alittle too raw for my taste...Our society has become so decadent..I'll have to say my prayers for sure every night.... I should be stronger...but then I watch Farscape and I'm totally in love with Dargo...http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Heart-Dance.gif:rollin: :whip:
