I am. I do wish Showtime would have re-run all of the first season, in order. I got Showtime last fall and they started rerunning eps, then quit in the middle. Well, actually I think they did run some of them over the summer, but it was at odd times, nothing regular, and I didn't know about it in time to tape 'em. So I only saw the first 3-4 eps and then the last ep, and had to read the synopses online to get the gist of the story.
I am planning on regular watching this season. Unless it sucks, but that isn't likely with JMS at the helm. I don't see it continuing beyond this year though. JMS has already said he's out, and it didn't seem to generate enough buzz last year to be a big hit that they will keep.

This is the type of series that can be done in two seasons, but I'd like to see a third. It's a great concept, and unless they master a few stand alone eps, most viewers will probably turn it off for a bit, the need for instant gratification doesn't help the quality of our tv series much.
I can't wait, too bad they don't bring Odyssey 5 back, that could have lasted, hmm, 5 years.

I'll probably watch it, but I wouldn't describe my attitude as "can't wait." I was a huge B5 fan, but I'm not a member of the "Church of Joe" where I think the guy is infallible or incapable of writing mediocre stuff.
My B5 fandom gets in the way, I think, because when I see characters on Jeremiah start to talk or do speeches that are similar to B5, I just feel I'm not seeing anything new.
BTW--Entertainment Weekly has already given the debut a "C". In their review, they said it came off as contrived and cliche.
I'll watch it myself for my own opinion, but when JMS's writing isn't at its best, I think of it the same way.

I watched the premier, and thought that the series showed some promise. However the next episode didn't at all live up to my expectations, and subsequent episodes failed to grab me. I soon stopped watching. Last year I caught a part of an episode while surfing, but again, it didn't look like anything that would change my opinion. It seems "slow" to me, taking eons to develop any storyline. Maybe I'll give it another try next Friday, because it's by The J. Michael Straczynski.
By the way, here's an article about Jeremiah from The Futon Critic. (Note, this was written before the delay of the first episode was announced.)

Producer Paints Grim Future for 'Jeremiah,' Literally
By Brian Ford Sullivan
CHICAGO (thefutoncritic.com) -- Fans of Showtime's original series "Jeremiah" are used to grim futures. The series, a post-apocalyptic drama set in the near future, deals with mankind rebuilding after a devastating plauge. And it looks like such a description can also be applied to the show's status in the real world.
Already 14 months will have passed between seasons when the series kicks off its second season on Friday, September 19. Now, executive producer J. Michael Straczynski is telling fans if the series does continue to a third season, it will be without him at the helm.
In a post to the "rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated" newsgroup, the prolific writer told posters:
I have zero desire to return to a third season of "Jeremiah." Showtime was great, no mistake, but MGM has overall been the most heinous, difficult and intrusive studio I've ever worked for. I've worked for, and had great relations with, Viacom, Universal, Warner Bros., and a bunch more. But I will never, ever, work for the present administration at MGM. I didn't know why so many other writers had a problem there and never wanted to go back. Now I do.
While that doesn't necessarily mean the series will close after its 16-episode run this season, it obviously paints a grim future for the show. In addition, Straczynski added that while several publications have reported on a DVD release for the series scheduled for early next year he "was never informed by MGM" that was the case.
Meanwhile, in brighter news, Straczynski's signature series "Babylon 5" could have some company next year on the DVD format. "It's my understanding that if the sales continue as they have for ["Babylon 5"], they will indeed release "Crusade" [the series' short-lived spin-off] on DVD," he said in another post. He also added that it's "very likely" the remaining telefilms based on the series will also get released.
The third season of "Babylon 5" is scheduled to be released next month with the remaining two seasons expected to follow suit shortly thereafter. Fans attending the San Diego Comic Convention this past week got a chance to tape messages for possible inclusion on the series' fifth season release, due out next year.

Well, well, well. Tonight's the night. Season 2 begins on Showcase at 10:00 pm (EST). I agree with the above post about it being slow in story and character development. There were some dog eps, but by the end of the season things had picked up alot. The 2nd season is shorter (15 eps) and with JMS writing 13 of the 15 it should be faster paced with less standalone eps. JMS is bowing out of a season 3 and the thinking is he's wrapping up his 5yr story arc this season. Personally, I can't see the S2 premier until monday. Here in Canada, Jeremiah airs on TMN (The Movie Network, catchy name eh?) on Monday's at 8:00 pm EST with a encore airing at 11:00 pm.

Lets all be careful about labelling spoilers as a courtesy to our Canadian friends!
I won't be watching ep 1 until Wednesday at the earliest. I'm going out of town for business, leaving Saturday morning, and can't stay up late tonight. It will be the old VCR treatment for me. I might even save it until next Friday and have a double header! Hope it's worth the wait.

This info is all from Lee Whiteside's The SFTV Schedule Email List.
I was hoping Showtime would be more consistent with scheduling this time around, but it looks like they aren't doing much better. It is hard to me to keep track of when to watch when they mess around with the times and days.

Jeremiah on Showtime - Seven Shows in Five Weeks, then hiatus
Here's what I've gleamed from the showtime web site on the upcoming schedule for the second season of Jeremiah that starts on October 10th.
Currently, they have seven episodes scheduled over the first five weeks and then the show doesn't have any new episodes the rest of November.
They start out with each new episode debuting at 10 pm ET/PT Friday night on Showtime with a repeat on Showtime late Sunday night at 11:30 pm ET/PT. They also have a Saturday night repeat on Showtime Too at 9:00 pm. (The Showtime Schedule site shows it as 10:00 pm ET but the online TV listings have it at 9:00 pm ET)
Things get strange at the end of October, though. The episode Rites of Passage gets a late night Sunday/early Monday airing at 12:15 am ET/PT Nov 2nd with no Friday airing. On Friday, Nov 7th, two episodes air back to back on Friday night as well as Sunday night on Showtime. The Saturday Showtime Too airings continue with one episode each week until Nov 22nd. That leaves eight episodes left to air of the fifteen episode run with no indication of when they will air.
That schedule may not be set in stone, especially since the time for the Showtime Too repeat doesn't jive with other listings.

I just watched the season premier. Don't worry, no spoilers. I was pleased with it, I like the direction. I hope it does go another season after this, but if it doesn't, I'm sure it will be ended appropriately.

Showtime has changed the schedule for Jeremiah and has inserted a break in the middle of the season. Here is the info from Lee Whiteside's SFTV schedule pages:
Jeremiah Hiatus Update
There's been no official word in regards to the short run of Jeremiah to start off the second season (there will be two episodes each week for Oct 31st and Nov 7th and then nothing scheduled the rest of November). The show replacing it, The Next Episode, is a six week series so it is likely that Jeremiah will resume in January after it ends.

JMS has posted his opinion that Showtime is trying to save their investment in the show by not airing any episodes during the holiday season, when TV ratings are down in general and the lower ratings would hurt the show. He thinks it will appear on their schedule again in January to finish up the season.
I hope he's right. It wouldn't make sense for them not to air all the episodes. Good thing this is Showtime and not Skiffy - we can assume there will be some logic to their programming decisions.

I liked that too. Hated to see that go, but most things I liked are canceled.
I got an email on Saturday from a Jeremiah fan site - they wanted some info on fan letter writing campaigns. They're trying to start a 'buzz' campaign for the series.
Here's a little bit of the info I got from these folks -
What basically happened is they stopped showing season two in the middle
and are holding on the remaining 8 episodes until an undetermined date.
They are already in the can and just need to be aired. It looks like
Canada will be getting the rest of the season but we have to wait here in
the states. It is painful!
As an added incentive, we are running a promotion on our site for a bunch
of great Jeremiah prizes and all people have to do is forward, copy or
send us an email to jeremiah@hubbe.net in regards to our campaign.
For more information, visit:
http://abyss.hubbe.net/jeremiah/excl/buzz.html
http://abyss.hubbe.net/jeremiah/excl/promos.html
So, one more fan campaign hitting the net. I let them know we'd give them a hand if we could and at the very least we'd try to reach out to the Jeremiah fans who are Scapers too.

well here i am, months later and having just watched episode 14 yesterday, bumping this thread to take back what i said on quoted post.
I LOVE S2. I still believe that S1 is not my favorite thing on TV, but i have to say that S2 has grabbed and fascinated me :D
I don't think what i'm posting below has spoilers, but since spoilers seem to be subjective, i'll put SPOILER SPACE
I absolutely love Mr. Smith, great character and Sean's performance is awesome. I think i'm starting to like Luke Perry, although it would be great if he shaved a little bit from time to time, seeing him makes me itchy (although i guess that's the idea). MJ Warner character (Curdy or Kurdy ?) is so great also, he is so cultured and tough and sweet at the same time. Sims is also a great character and i love the accent. Marcus is so believable as a leader so afraid of failing.
MORE SPOILERS
I figured out that Daniel was not real from early on the season, but it was until they introduced Sims and his conversation by the fire with the other dude, where he tells him that he doesn't need to meet Daniel to feel what his duty is and felt committed to it, that i realized how powerful "Daniel" was and how difficult it would be to get rid of him.
Anyway, just wanted to say that...

I saw it Monday night. It is more than a little frustrating knowing that after the second part of the Season 2 Finale there isn't any more.
I am not as obsessed with Jeremiah as I was B5, but there really is something above average about this show, and I think I would have become a devoted fan given some more time...
JMS rocks.

Ya gotta marvel at the hollywierd execs.
At this point in time, JMS MUST have established that he's got at "don't f*#K with me and just let me tell my story attitude.
So why the nets et al go out of their way to do just that is beyond my understanding...

Yeah, I agree.
JMS delivers on time, under budget, quality work...and he (personally!) has a devoted fan base who will pretty much watch whatever he puts out there.
I think that there must be nefarious dueling ego's at work here...
