View Full Version : Last 2 min?

Hiya
A huge scape fan who watched the 1st 2 seasons way back. Then it took me a while to get hold of the last 2 seasons, but I finally have. But since I know about the "to be continued" ending in bad timings should I watch the end?
I read on some forum that I should turn it off the last 2 min of the last episode or be dissapointed forever...
I think Farscape is by far and beyond the best show i've ever watched and I really wouldn't like to be dissapointed in the end.
I'll watch the final season with such heavy heart :(
But it is like they say... All great things must come to an end.
And i thought fox was the worst network.... How wrong I was:(

Pengu, if I were you I would watch the last two minutes of Bad Timing. I say this because the final two minutes are probably the most emotionally charged minutes of the entire series. I have not been dissapointed with the final two minutes of Bad Timing and the only thing that makes me upset is the stupidity of Skiffy.

I have to agree! Watch the show to the very end.. to not do so would rob you of how our cast and crew *wanted* to end the show for Season 4.

And here is another vote for 'watch the show to the very end'. Like BritAngie said, it's how the cast and crew wanted to end the fourth season.
I have cried at the end, but I've not been disappointed.
We know that TPTB had planned to resolve the cliffhanger, probably right at the beginnig of the fifth season, and hopefully one day we will get the chance to see it. ;)

there's no equivocation possible here- gotta watch it.
there's a scene right before those last two minutes that rates as the all-time "most tears shed over a TV show" for our house.
and those last two minutes...they comprise the strangest mix of emotions I've ever had when viewing 'art' of any kind. A weird mix of joy and sadness and hope and anger and fear and love and a whole lot of other stuff that I can't put into words.
so please, watch it. and then come back and share what you thought with the rest of the family.

Yeah, I'm with Eric Satan, I don't think I could have turned it off if I had wanted to. I would always be wondering. And when you take into account, that this is the way TPTB wanted to finish, and you KNOW that this cliffhanger had already been solved in season 5, You HAVE to believe that we will get to see it in some form someday. I am waiting.

By all means WATCH the ENTIRE episode! I did, and I'm GLAD I did it. Don't deprive yourself of a single microt of Farscape. It's an absolute FITTING end to the fourth season. (It left me speechlessly staring at the screen for about five minutes after it ended!) After you've seen it, you'll be POSITIVELY SURE that we're getting a fifth season!!

I live up in Canada and the news of Farscape cancellation was bewildering and to watch the rest of season four was too surreal. I just couldn't believe it was cancelled!!
Like most people, I couldn't stay from spoilers and I knew how it was going to end. However, I wasn't sure if I was going to cry like a baby or curse like a trunk driver when shocking ending came and hearing D'Argo's howling scream... It left me wanting to cry like a trunk driver. :bawl:

Definetly watch the last 2 minutes!
And when you think about it, those last two minutes, I think, is what really charged the fans to save farscape.
A cliffhanger, a highly emotionally charged ending, followed with a cancellation......
Everytime I see the last episode, I get motivated a little more to do something. If Henson had wrapped it up all nice a neat, I don't believe there would be such a strong fan populus trying to bring it back. SO by all means, watch the end......and then start writing letters....

By all means watch all of Bad Timing.
If you can - get hold of the Contender DVD which Bad Timing is on. (DVD 4.5). These are the PAL format DVDs released in Europe.
It's got some extras on it which are MUST see - Farwell in particular - because the cast directly address us. Anthony, Wayne, et al tell us just how much they appreciate our efforts, and how impressed they are with how quickly savefarscape.com was setup, and how professional it has been. It's nice to be appreciated!
In addition to Farwell, there are the blooper reels, which crack me up....I would tell you more - but why spoil it ;)

Definitely watch it. It's so wonderfully Farscape--thrilling and heartbreaking, all of the emotions that made me fall in love with the show in the first place. And there's nothing like seeing the "To Be Continued" to restore hope.

I may have said this already, but anyway, from what I am told, The writers and PTB had the choice of trying to wrap up the season in #4, or leave it like it was, "To be Continued". They opted to leave it like it was, and one of them later said "The To be Continued is a promise" (or words to that effect). We'll get to see this resolved someway, we just don't know how yet.

Sawyer's Miller,
I also bought season 3 and 4 on Contender. I must admit I felt the same as the person who started this thread. I haven't watch any episodes past "Prayer". I'm so addicted to FARSCAPE that I feel it will be torture to have to wait until FS resumes. I guess anticipation is best part............ anyway thanks for the headsup concerning the extras. I never knew they were on there. I saw a small reel of bloopers at the 01 FS convention in NYC. They were great! I always wondered if they would make it on video/dvd.

You haven't turned any of the other eps off have you?
Why would you want to miss the last 2 minutes?
It's Farscape through and through.
Watch it and don't be a wuss!

Watch it. Now.
Then, if you have the contender DVD, watch Farwell, then watch the out-takes.
Make sure you have tissues for the emotion of BT & Farwell and the ROFL hilarity of the out-takes.

I agree with everyone here you should watch the last 2 min. of the ep because it doesn't get any better then that. Well, atleast for now anyway. And now a side note. That is way I'm asking anyone that does have the UK verion of 4.5 to make me a copy of the special features because I want to see the farwell and the outtakes.

When I ordered Season 4.5 from Amazon (Pal Version) I ordered two copies in error. I still have one unopened but I can't make copies of it. (copyright violation and macrovision protected) If you're interested I will sell this dvd set to you at a substancial discount from the amount I paid. Plus I will ship it to you free. I was going to donate to www.savefarscape.com but they had no use for it. Please let me know. If you're not interested I'll sell it on eBay and give the proceeds to the riot fund. Thanks....

Hi,
I just have one question. Would that dvd work on a region 1 dvd player? If it can then I will buy it from you.

Jen,
I'm sorry, it won't. It's encoded for Region 2. I bought a multiregional dvd player so that I could purchase and watch season 3 and 4. (Season 3 has just started to release in the US)
If there is anyway I can get my hands on a copy of the bloopers and FARWELL I'll contact you. Sorry again,
Jim:(

As has already been said - the Contender 4.5 DVD is region 2, and PAL encoded. To play it back, you'll need a region free DVD player, *and* a DVD player which is capable of PAL/NTSC conversion.
Oh yeah, you may well find that the resulting NTSC isn't quite normal NTSC because of the difference in frame rate between NTSC and PAL.
Consult the documentation that came with your DVD and TV to find that out....

Well, I finally reached the end and watched the whole episode.
Kinda obvious they didn't die, since the alien said neutralize.
But at the same time I think it's a sad but nice end on my part.
They finally got eachother for a few microts, but it wasn't meant to be i guess....
At least no hollywood ending, but a hard one to take both because all that they had to endure through 4 cycles to find eachother was for nothing and secondly by the fact that this wasn't close to the end. I'm sure DK could have done many more seasons....

I haven't even come close to give up, but my faith in scifi channel isn't that great and they have the rights for some time...
I have faith in the jim henson company but it isn't up to them i'm afraid and I really don't like the time ticking away

That depends on how well your player does the conversion. My cheap hacked APEX does the PAL to NTSC conversion surprisingly well, and I see no difference in the region 1 and region 2 episodes.
If you see a picture that doesn't seem quite right, for example if it's narrower than it ought to be, see if your player doesn't have some settings that can be tweaked.
I have heard that the conversion from NTSC to PAL is more problematical. However, not having a PAL capable TV set, I cannot verify this for myself.

I'd say you should watch it. Luckily, I knew what was going to happen, otherwise my very shippy little heart would probably still be broken and I could never watch Farscape again. :(
Others are right. IMHO, if the ending had been different, there would probably not be as many people here working so hard trying to get this show back. :)
