That you won't be able to attend yet another Creation Farscape convention because you live in the southeast. What's that you say? Sour Grapes? What about the 2001 convention in NYC? Ah yes I remember. It was held at the Hotel Penn on 7th Ave across from Madison Square Garden. Remember how the hotel lost your reservation and that it took almost 2 hours to check in? The convention was held on the top floor of the hotel in their long long convention room. So far away from the stage that we brought binoculars to actually see Ben and Claudia. The lighting in the room was so bright it was impossible to see the live screen behing them. Yes Ben did happen to comment on our binoculars. He mentioned something about us being hardcore FARSCAPE fans. Remember the smile on our faces... he actually spoke to us individually.
Uncle Albert... do you recall how nice our fellow FARSCAPE convention fans were bringing us bread and water as we waited patiently for 2 and 1/2 hours for our guaranteed autographs? Ben Browder ever so devoted to his fans came down the middle isle to shake our hands, stood on a chair and spoke to us as he knew we would never be able to get our GUARANTEED autographs that we had paid for. Ah yes the looks on his fans faces as he strolled past them. It was the highlight of the day!!!! Then about 8:30 or 9 pm Creation announced that the hotel was closing down the convention room and sorry but NO MORE AUTOGRAPHS. That was about the same time that quite a few GOLD members flashed their signed autograph pictures of Ben and Claudia to the incredibly disappointed fans with offers to purchase at $40.00 and up. Salt on the wound. We left that night chins to the ground but happy that we at least saw the show. It was fantastic! (no thanks to Creation). Those were the days though, FARSCAPE was still on the air with no talk of SCIFI Channel canning the show. Oh yes Uncle Albert I do remember those scary moments two days later when the World Trade Towers fell......
