Cant wait for this one to start on Comedy Central, Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. I got hooked on Evans when I watched part of the movie, "The Kid Stays in the Picture". Not sure if it starts tomorrow night or not, but it looks good. I like the kind of animation they are using...I think its considered shaded-cel.

So what is Robert Evans' claim to fame? I know the name and can't place it.

Robert Evans, former chief of Paramount Studios.
Had something to do with The Cotton Club, Chinatown and The Godfather I believe, not sure if he produced or directed them or what...a bit before my time...and I didnt see that entire "The Kid Stays in the Picture" movie. I believe he also "discovered" Jack Nicholson.
Basically he was a very powerful individual in Hollywood way back when (30 years ago or so).

"The Kid Stays In the Picture" is a great film - I'm surprised that HBO had the cojones to show it, esp. since it's 1) a documentary; 2) nominally artsy - it's much more IFC or Sundance in it's profile.
Speaking of which (IFC, Sundance) TKSITP is a great companion piece to IFC's recent "A Decade Under the Influence" for an overview of American filmmaking in the '70's.
And Robert Evans is a very colorful prat. Did anyone here know that he's the 'Evan' in 'Evan Picone'? - He's a co-founder of the label.
