"Rhapsody in Blue" Question [spoilers for 1.12]

Maybe this has been asked & answered sometime, and maybe my ears deceived me, but, I was watching Rhapsody in Blue again a couple of days ago, and I swear.........................

in that first "dream" bedroom scene with John and Alex, I swear that John calls Alex "Aeryn" once. It's when she tells him she's taking the Stanford job, and then he says, "Well, I've got a shot at the space program, AERYN." What I am really hearing? It's not Alex. I looked for an episode transcript to see if it was another word that sounded like Aeryn, and made sense, but haven't found one yet for that ep? This is driving me nuts! I keep putting that scene back on the DVD player, and I want to watch another episode now!

jayelsee, I just watched that scene a few times and he definitely says 'Alex.'

And having just watched it a few times, it really, really shows how much of a romantic Crichton is. "If we're meant to be together, we'll be together." Sheesh. I'm glad he started fighting a bit more for the person he loves when Aeryn came along.

Definitely Alex, huh? Well, must be my aging ears. I listened again VERY carefully, and it STILL doesn't sound like Alex, but now it sounds more like "Aeric".

Oh, well, moving on. Watched Nerve and Hidden Memory tonight.

:rollin: :rollin: :rollin: Yes, it still sounds more like "Aeryn" than "Alex" to me, too, but RescueFarscape assures me it was "Alex", so I just have to believe her. She is very credible. :rollin: :rollin: :rollin:

I just watched the episode again, and I have to agree that it sounded like he said Aeryn. It definately was not Alex!

I thought he then added Aeryn. I thought if he did say Aeryn it was a subconcious dream thing like, "now I love Aeryn," or I was just Taleen Makeing stuff up. Could be wrong but I did watch it looking for him to say Aeryn, and I thought I heared him say her name.

:lol You've all got Aeryn on the brain! ;) He says Alex. Really! I think. I'm beginning to doubt my ears. And I do keep getting distracted on that one little nanosecond scene. I blame it all on AFD. :D

Does someone have the script? closed captioning? Ben's telephone number to ask him what he said? ;)

Gees, I must be the only one without shippiness on my mind and here I was just working on J&A vid! I'm convinced now he says "here" (nothing on the end), just wasn't speaking very clearly. The dream was a memory, so I doubt he'd be interchanging his past love with a woman who he's not even close to being as intimate with, though admittedly, she did wear his underwear in the episode.

Maybe he said HAIR that sounds closer than HERE if that was the last thing he said.

John certainly likes touching hair (Aeryn's particularly). I guess that's one reason he was never interested in Zhaan. ;)
