Yeah, I could'nt think of the ep, but in "The Way We Weren't" Aeryn explains PK male/female relationships and she uses the phrase "procreation is assigned", speaking of breeding. Then later in that ep, she speaks of Velorek and says, "I felt something for him that I didn't with any of the other men I recreated with". Interestingly though, I noticed when the phone rang and my TV was on mute, the Closed Captioning says "procreated" but Claudia actually says "recreated". Maybe this was a change in lines by DK or the cast. It makes more sense because procreation is for breeding and "recreation" is a PK term for just having a trist or sex for pleasure, not necessarily breeding. It is all pretty interesting to me, the whole PK world. Imagine how that would effect someone's psyche. You are born into a sort of warrior foster home, like a scary ANNIE musical without the music, lol. After 30 some odd years centered around this army life. You are suddenly considered "irreversibly contaminated" pretty much on death row for doing something inexplicable. Standing up for this human. John is very emotional. He entrigues her. :infinity:

I thought Aeryn was a little bit older than that. If I did the math right (which would be a rare, so please correct me) from "The Locket" she's actually around 100 when she meets Crichton.

Yeah you're right. I think D'argo says he is thirty cycles in the Premiere, and I know Aeryn is much older than D'argo. I am going to watch "The Locket" again to figure it out. The whole years-cycles thing gets me confused. I know Claudia said cycles are sort of like "dog years" in one of the interviews. I don't get it. A "cycle" is suppose to be a revolution of the planet where you are. But PK's aren't on a planet, so I don't know. Thanks for giving me a good excuse to watch my DVDs!!

perhaps a "standard cycle" is the lengh of the Ideal orbit around a sun of a world needed to sustain higher thinking bipedal life most effectivly.....or something like that

somewhere I read that cycles were like 3/4 of year, but I don't remember where.
Hey, Claudia doesn't want people to know when she was born, neither does Aeryn.

Does Claudia really care if people know her age? If I was that exotic and beautiful,...... I wouldn't care. I was just trying to make a point of how PK stuff would frell your mind:whip:

Okay, here is the math I did for Aeryn's age.
In the scene where her mother comes to visit her, Aeryn looks to be about six or seven. Then in The Choice, the fake Talyn said they had made a pack 20 cycles ago to fake his death to save Aeryn. So, that would make Aeryn at that time about 27 cycles old. So, when she met John she was about 24, which would explain her attitude and mannerisms. She would be old enough to handle situations but immature enough to follow her instinct instead of her head.

Yes, I forgot about that blueaeryn! In "The Choice" the fake Talyn did say "20 years ago" they made that pact to never tell about his faked death. But are PK cycles the same as Earth years?:eek2:

Well, I figured out that microts are 3/4 of an Earth minute, like talyn3 said because in "The Flax" ep in the first season. John tells Aeryn she has, "4 mins, 180 microts before my brain starts to go adios". That is exactly 3/4 of a minute. So maybe it is a standard measurement us earthlings don't have. Sort of like the metric system to Americans, lol. So just logically I guess cycles are the same deal. Which would even make more sense making D'argo younger, at 22.5 in "Premiere" but then it doesn't make sense with his son's age so I dunno?!?

I think a Cycle is .96 of a regular year I figured it out based on the 4.8Cycles = to 5 years in TTBRC it might be off I haven't checked in a whille hope that helps.

Question
What's the point is assigning recreating partners?
I can understand why they'd want to assign breeding partners but why does it matter who you're screwing for fun?
Is this just an excuse for all the high end officers to get signed up with their pick of the hot chicks.:D

microts must be like seconds not like minutes.
In "through the looking glass" john says to d'argo that he should wait 500 microts then starburst. And then D'argo and everybody else are counting like it was seconds
