In today's Dallas Morning News:
Open Call
Filmcor Productions' A Killer Within will hold an open call for paid extras of all ages from 1-3 PM on Saturday at MPS Studios, 139 Regal Row in Dallas.
The independent film, starring C. Thomas Howell, Sean Young, Farscape lead Ben Browder, Giancarlo Esposito and Dedee Pfeiffer, younger sister of Michelle Pfeiffer, will shoot from November 17 to December 20 in Dallas.
Bring a nonreturnable photo with name and day and night phone numbers. Hispanic men and women are encouraged to apply for roles as professionals and club-goers.
This in Jan Sumner's Lone Star Outtakes column.

Cool! Especially that Ben (sigh) Browder is listed as a lead and they mention Farscape.
And that December 20 end date doesn't even really conflict with the rumors about production on a Farscape mini beginning in December. :ewink:

This is the best news I've heard in a while. Good for Ben.
Sounds like he heads to Dallas right after the convention and is back by Christmas to spend time with family.

Giancarlo played Giardello's son in the last season of "Homicide" - another one of my favorite shows. :)
This is frelling awesome news for Ben. But... if the rumors about us getting a FS movie are true, wouldn't the filming of this movie conflict?

This movie for Ben is definitely confirmed. :D
The Farscape movie/mini series/kitchen knives set (:P) Is *still* a rumour.. As it is a rumour and nothing else at the moment, why is everyone surprised when the dates "quoted/rumoured" turn out to be unlikely?
Let's have a bit of patience folks please and wait for the word from Brian Henson who would/will have the real info on what is happening *if* anything is... :)
Anything else is hearsay and is going to drive us frelling slowly nuts! :D

The Browder movie is real. Here's the new listing for it from Hollywood Reporter:
A Killer Within (Thriller)
(Start Nov. 17) Shooting in Dallas, TX; Fireside Films, 139 Regal Row Dallas, TX, 75247 - 214-905-9908; Cast: C. Thomas Howell, Sean Young, Ben Browder, Dedee Pfeifer, Mark Hanson; Prd., Joey Stewart; CoPrd., Anthony Bologna; Dir., Brad Keller; DP, Michael Redding; LinePrd., Beth Jasper; PrdDsgn., Erik Whitney; PrdCoord., Mark Mablo; Cstg., Monika Mikkelson
If there is any truth to a Farscape project, movie or otherwise, they clearly can't be filming it this year.

Been there, done that: :loco:
Time and patience and wait for the wheel and all those cliches
I'm totally not worried about rumored time lines overlapping set filming dates. Anyway, hopefully this movie is in concrete, albeit wet concrete. Remember you're never sure until you get paid :D
And even if it gets made, there is no guarantee it gets released. Ahhhhh Hollywood!

Not necessarily. If the rumours about us getting a FS movie/mini are true, they can start preparation on December (rebuilding the sets etc.) and shooting somewhere on 2004 when EVERYBODY will be available...

No reason to be worried. It does not take that long to film a movie, and I mean to do the film part. The totality of a production takes a while, but filming can take as little as a few weeks.

So does anyone know how independant this movie is? I mean, when it comes out, will it be availiable for most of us to view at the theaters? Or is it only gonna be a "selected cities" kind of thing?
Hope it's not the latter. I'd like to see it.

It's a bit too early to know this sort of stuff. As soon as it's available it'll be posted I'm sure. :)
Also filming is 4 weeks I think judging from what I've read.

I looked up the director's credits on IMDB. All very small films.
The last one was "straight to video". This one appears to have more name actors in it, though. We'll have to see what their plans are.
Sometimes films like these don't get a major distribution deal and can end up being bought by a cable network.
But, I'm just speculating. Hopefully someone will ask Ben if he has any information on it in Burbank.
Other than the "difficult to find" aspect, I actually would like to see Ben do something that made the "film festival/art film theater/independent film channel" circuit. It's often great for actor's reputations. And it would be better than "straight to video".

Would be great to see Claudia Black do something that made the "film festival/art film theater/independent film channel". She's extremely talented actress.

I like Indie films. They're often much more interesting.

I love them. They're just hard to get sometimes. I definately want to see Ben Browder's film...so I hope it comes out somewhere near me...or comes to video stores, or is on IFC or something.

Great to hear that Ben has a job lined up.
hmmm.. I wonder where in Dallas they are filming.....think they need any more extras? .... like a 30 year old woman and a 3 year old? LOL
(I can just see me driving around the city looking for film crews. :rollin: )
