so iīm just curious about how much money each of the cast have got for farscape?

jennifer aniston gets 1.000.000. $ per ep for friends and those
guys and girls from will & grace are getting 250.000 - 400.000 $ per ep. but i donīt know for what will & grace is boring boring boring and friends is galactic and frelling boredom too but i asked myself how much it was for farscape?

a few years ago iīve read that juliana margulies denied a offering of about 35.000.000 for another two seasons of emergency room!?

so farscape must be an financial success because it was sold to countries like brasil, germany, france etc.

did they got anything of that money and do they still getting money from the dvdīs?

There are a bunch of things that are not discussed on this board. The actors personal lives, the situation in Iraq, Abortion, boycotting Skiffy, etc...

some of them are in bad taste... and the others proved devisive.

btw... why does it matter what they were paid? How does it affect you?

Ben Browder had to be making at least the minimum for a leading actor in an hour drama, because he is an American actor in the Screen Actors Guild. The rest were undoubtedly making less because the producers aren't bound by SAG for them, but they are for Browder.

This is public domain kinda stuff. The Friends cast just held the producers hostage until they got a ridiculus amount of money. Ray Ramano gets something like 2.5 mil an episode and is number one in money makers.

Like I said this information isn't secret. To the degree that it's anyone's business is I guess the same as knowing how much Bret Favre, or Shaq, or Canseco makes.

Whatever they were being paid, it probably wasn't enough for what they gave us for four great years. :)

It's not polite to discuss anyone's salary -public domain or not. I'm sure the pay rates for my job are on the web somewhere but it doesn't make me happy to have my wages theorised by strangers... It's not about info it's about ettiquette. :)

I think that the curiosity that comes with the fabulously overpaid (Ramano, Aniston, etc) is unwelcomely transferred to all celebrities.

The only thing we should be aware of is that the more deserving cast of Farscape isn't pulling in Friends dollars, or probably not even SG1 dollars. The point is that they are working actors who like us can't pay rent unemployed. When they do find work we should feel great about it and not worry if they schedules are going to conflict with Season 5. Season 5 will come. Let's hope that CB and BB are working (as they all deserve to work) in the interim to keep themselves in bacon and eggs 'till shooting begins - Fade in the cannoe.

aside from the fact that it's no one's business what salary anyone received, the discussion of the personal lives of the cast and crew are off topic at this board. that extends to salaries.

Uh waltersgirl,

I think Grinner already covered that. No need to pound it into the ground. It wasn't the most evil question ever, quite innocent I believe. To put it nicely, I think Mike_23 got the jist of it a few posts ago.

Jeez!

Uh actually, since waltersgirl is among the group of people who are held accountable for this site, she's just clarifying the policy of FMD regarding topics such as this one.

It's for everyone's benefit that the boundaries be made clear...

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you guys on this. If I am breaking a rule by writing this then the PTB on this board are more than free to erase my post (or just PM me and I will do it myself). I suppose the living wage and minimum wage should are banned topics as well? I think it is important to be aware of disparities in pay wherever they exist.

While I don't know exactly how much money was made by the actors, I know that it was nowhere near the base pay of the American actors. This is part of the draw of working in Australia, the acting labor is cheap. There are a lot of complaints by the Australian television actors about pay and working conditions. It is my understanding that the pay is something like $400-$500 per day of filming. So what a lot of televisions shows do is cram as much filming by any one actor into a few days as possible often making working conditions very hard on the actors. I am not suggesting that this was done by Henson on the Farscape set. However, it is apparently common practice in Austalia. In fact it is so common that there was a recent protest by some soap actors in Australia and talk of a strike.

In my way of thinking this information is important so that we understand the conditions in which this show is made, and hence factors in bringing the show back. Is this vital information that I really have to know? No, but I shouldn't really know about the health problems of Virginia Hey or have to hear about how Ben looks in leather. Both are topics that are very personal in nature and certainly impolite to discuss with them, but they are talked about constantly on this board. The pay of Australian actors is public knowledge just like the minimum wage. To me it is silly some are able to carry on about Ben's rear end but we can't talk about the treatment and pay of actors in Australia.

And please note that while I gave an approximate pay scale for Australia actors based on articles I have read, it in no way translates into how much the actors made as we have no idea how long each actor worked for any given episode or season.

discussions of pay disparities across the nation is a valid topic. discussion of the personal lives of the actors of this show, is not. what they make is their business. that makes it personal. that doesn't mean it isn't available if someone really wanted to hunt it down, nor does it mean that some people wouldn't find it interesting. we're simply asking that those types of conversations don't take place at this board. feel free to have a vigorous discussion about it via pm or email.

scape_sister, i'm an admin on this board. it's my job to clarify something that a poster may not know. this thread is closed.
