has anybody been keeping track of or gotten any info relating to how many physical letters and/or emails the sci fi channel has received since this website's launch?

I don't think anyone can answer your question.

Almost everyone registered at this site has sent a letter, most more than one. There are lurkers who aren't registered who write letters. After 9-6-02, there were all the thousands of Farscape fans who wrote letters, emails, faxes; who phoned, sent flowers, who publically protested when this site was still in its infancy.

There really isn't any way to track it. I certainly can't remember how many letters I've sent, not including postcards. At least a couple hundred? Absolutely.

Your quite safe saying we've sent thousands of letters, and you'll probably be right saying tens of thousands.

I suppose then, I can't seem to understand where the network stands on saying this show is a waste. Or any of the other networks etc. that we've all been writing to. How could this possibly be misinterpreted into anything other than a very financially sound forum. I don't think Ive ever been aware of anything quite as massive as us, celebrating as well as protesting a beloved show being cancelled... I don't think ANY star trek spinoff has ever had this much resistance to cancellation before, and trekkies are as hardcore as they come...Futhermore, from what I gather, they were initially only really planning a 5 yr. storyline (though i don't know why they wouldnt wan to keep it going for as long as possible) so why give it the ax so abruptly?

I resent that! I'm a 'trekkie' We stick w/ out shows all the way through.

TNG all the way , even though I was too young to remember most of them (thank god for Spike re-runs)

DS:9
and
Voyager, my favorite.

I even watch Enterprise...

So there...

If I choose to watch more than 5 episodes, I watch it all the way through somehow.

hey didnt mean any offense, I like star trek too, all i'm saying is with the rep that hardcore trekkies have, and their flair for being "passionate", even they've never made that much of a fuss over any of their shows getting axed, and yes, I do enjoy enterprise, but if it got cancelled tomorrow I don't realistically see something as big as this

We don't know what the different networks think of Farscape, or if they've been moved at all by our campaign. We don't (and shouldn't) know who Henson would approach for Farscape. For all we know, it could be Skiffy again! That's why it's important to keep writing letters, keep the Farscape buzz going, because we just can't tell who those letters will influence, or how or when.

:)

so why give it the ax so abruptly?

EMTV, who owned The Henson Company at the time of the cancellation, was in severe financial straits. I believe they were looking to cut costs wherever they could. Both Farscape and JHC were the victims of bad business.
