Hi atlantagirl,

That sounds like a good idea to me. I really enjoyed the party last year on the dom. To bad the dom isn't the same anymore. I really miss going there.

Well, several of the Cyber Party's organizers are on this board, so they'd be better at explaining everything that they did -- I have an appallingly bad memory for specifics -- but basically, a group of people on the DOM (the SciFi.com Farscape BBoard) organized a cyber party last year. They invited people from other boards to drop in. They even had celebrity guests drop in. People posted fan fics, started fun threads about Vorlags, said prayers and sang hymns in the Church of DK, various kinds of things. It was just a big cyber gathering of people chit chatting mostly. It was fun. :smokin:

Well, even if I could afford to come, my 6yr old is due to go for an MRI under general anaesthetic a couple of days after the con! :( I'm relieved in a way I hadn't booked to go- would've ended up losing any money I'd forked out.
So I think a party would be great. It would certainly help keep my mind away from hospitals!
I know the time differences are a pain, but couldn't we use the chat room at Kansas as well?

I spent all my money and my vacation time in Disneyworld this year, so I can't make it over to Burbank either :cry2:

How bout we hang out in the OTs that Friday night. We've already have some games going over there; we can add more, open other threads about anything. Start one for fanfic links, a bunch of opinion polls on any topic, etc.

Of course, someone would have to keep an eye on the Campaign Stratagizing board for any news and let us all know - we could have a thread for latest con update and people could use it to post links to con reports. We could tell by the time on the thread if something new had happened.

What do you think?

I would expect that you have to download the .zip, and then unzip it to reveal all the jpg's and gif's. (Lordy, if you understand THAT amount of jargon, then you're a better man than I. well, either way, you're prolly a better man than I is, since I is a woman.)

Sigh. I'll be hanging out here and at Kansas, waiting for pictures and descriptions of the Con activities. Even if I had that $$ for the trip, I have to be somewhere else on business on the Monday after, and so would have to fly on Sunday -- making it impossible to go and enjoy the Con.

I am fairly computer literate, taking Networking, but I don't use Zip files, so not sure how to 'unzip' all I know, is this website won't let me use the pic because it's zip and not jpg or gif.

Most computers seem to already have ZipIt or some similar utility installed in the software that comes bundled with the CPU. I use a Mac so if you're on a Windows OS it will be different, but once I download a .zip file, I just double click on it to unzip it (if it doesn't unzip itself automatically after downloading). ZipIt is just a utility to compress files to make them easier to transfer. Once they are "unzipped" they open to full size and you have access to the files inside. If you don't already have the proper utility, I'm sure one of the Windows people on the board (assuming you use Windows) can point you to a site where you can download it to install on your computer.

You can just go back to that page. It displays each of the avatars on the zip file. When you see the one you want, just download it directly. It will be in .jpg format.

zip files are compressed files. you need a program (e.g. winzip) in order to "unzip" the files so you can use them.

What are the conbooks???

The conbooks were a terrific idea created by scapers who cannot go to
meet the cast and crew of Farscape at the Burbank Farscape Con in
November. We've been doing this since 2000 now and this may be our
last chance!!!

And even if you are going to Burbank, send in a message! They meet
hundreds, if not thousands of fans on the con circuit, but they will
remember your message and your picture in the conbook they will keep
at HOME.

So send in those messages! The first deadline is FRIDAY... Yes, THIS
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7!

General Rules:
Keep messages short
All messages will be read and censored or rejected if necessary. Keep
it clean
Poetry is ok. Fanfic is prohibited
1 picture per fan.

Yet another Scaper who won't be able to make it to Burbank. I'm glad to see that I'll have company (though in my ideal world, *everyone* would be able to go). So I'll be around for the party. I can bring my world famous chocolate chip cookies with caramel in the center (made with a little help from Toll House :D).

And, if we wanted to do something like a live chat, I know that Kansas now has a chat room available.

Hey all,

New to the board, but I've been a FS fan from the beginning. I see a few familiar faces here, and hopefully after the announcement at Burbank ('cause you know it's gonna be good), some more "Ancients" will drift over. I heard about the "party" from someone on another list (Hi Linda! *grin*), and figured I'd pop in at some point over the weekend with Guinness and pie... does anyone here remember the pies from back in the days of The Dominion??? *sigh*

Anyway, looking forward to commiserating next weekend. :)

here is what we, who are not going to burbank :(, can do to get to see gigi and claudia: seti_fan came up with a great idea to write an e-mail to ellen and ask her to invite them to be her guests on the show while they are in the neighborhood. now it is really up to us to try hard and maybe it'll happen. if each one of us who posted here writes a short message to ellen asking her to invite gigi and claudia, we'll probably get her attention.
