I loved college... I was in it for 10 years... and only left because I needed money.

Well, this is my first year as a grad student, and I'm fed up.
I'm also on new meds that make me really sleepy, so that's making life as a student even more difficult.

I spent 8 years in college. If grad school paid more money, I would never have left!
Sorry to hear that it's not going well for you though. It has its ups and downs. Hang in there and better times will be ahead.

What means MFA?
OH, and as something to help out with the sleepies and the groggies (me too)...
MORE LIGHT!
I just upped my office from a mere 250 watts of incandescant to a frelling maximum of 1,000 TOTAL WATTS OF HALOGEN FIRE!
(about half of that is indirect in the form of "can" lights from Lowes - they are the renters best substitute for track lighting)

There's no shame in doing your undergrad in more than four years...I just got lucky cause I took summer school, and also, a lot of the classes I took cause I was just interested in them...I found out later that they fulfilled a lot of requirements.

Don't have the degree in stats yet (that's what I'm in NOW), and the others are just Bachelor's.... so really more a matter of stupidity than intelligence. A double major does NOT help you get into graduate or medical school. It CAN destroy your health (I was sick, ON MY BACK for almost a year with mono, chronic fatigue, and god knows what else), and it makes you LESS employable!
Oh, in addition to MORE LIGHT that I edited in above... my mono/chronic fatigue experience has clued me in on stuff to increase your energy level. Any of these might help. Don't try them all at once (a friend of mine did, and she drove her husband insane for the first week).
MORE NUTRIENTS...
O.K.
Vitamin B-100 Time Release (CVS Brand, buy-one-get-one or 50% off sale best price around)
This gives a bit of a buzz -- especially when combined with the protein supplements below -- or a tuna sandwich. Add in a hard cider and I'm flying high as kite -- I call that my "football fan" cocktail. Really adds to the game.
Calcium (Sams's "Members Club" Brand best price around) 1000 mg Calcium
Magnesium (Vitamin World monthly 30% off sale) 1000 mg Magnesium
Hit on the fact that large doses of magnesium increased energy levels when I had mono. Magnesium supplements noticeably improve energy levels for me. Subsequent studies seem to be bearing this out. Problem is that you have to balance intake of Calcium and Magnesium or an excess of one will make you deficient in the other. Oh, remember, Magnesium is a laxative...
Potassium (CVS Brand) 300 mg
Vanadium (Vitamin World) Vanadyl Sulfate 10 mg
Both of these have a lot to do with metabolism. I'm not sure I feel an effect, but I'll take it on the science.
Flax Seed Oil (Vitamin World or Sam's) 9,000 mg
Omega 3 Fish Oil (Sam's Club) 3,000 mg
These seem to have an effect as well (make a big difference on dry skin too). Makes one hell of a lot of sense when you look at how much of the Omega-3 and related fats are in the brain. Doses on this order have been shown to have an anti-depressant effect as well. I'd bet on that panning out in years to come. Makes sense the same way transfatty acids (bad) and mono-saturated oils (good) made sense -- long before the evidence was in -- based on biochemistry.
Protein Supplement (100% Egg) with...
L-Glutamic Acid 3393MG
L-Tryptophan (naturally occurring) 313MG
L-Alanine 1471MG
L-Arginine 1387MG
L-Aspartic Acid 2598MG
L-Cystine 660MG
Glycine 892MG
L-Histidine 576MG
L-Isoleucine 1446MG
L-Leucine 2147MG
L-Lysine 1734MG
L-Methionine 876MG
L-Phenylalanine 1487MG
L-Proline 995MG
L-Threonine 1161MG
L-Tyrosine 995MG
L-Valine 1624MG
L-Serine 1756MG
This stuff is THE SHIZNIT (do I have to pay stellar royalties each time I use that). I take it, I feel the burn for hours. Affects mood too. May be just because I'm limited to EXTREMELY lean red meat (read game), white meat poultry, and fish, so I may be amino acid deficient in some areas. A friend of mine who is also protein limited (soy/peanut/milk allergies primed by work exposure to Azithromycin) notes the same buzz.
Gingko Biloba (Sam's Club) 180 mg
If I take any more, I go on an OCD trip (as if I'm not anal retentive enough already), so it has some sort of effect, but I'm not 100% sure if it is a good one.
ENADA NADH Sublingual (Vitamin World, sole source to my knowledge) 10 mg
This is a naturally occurring co-factor in cellular metabolism. I save this stuff for finals, all nighters, and the like. It has been shown to have effects on those who are chronically fatigued. I find the effect very similar to smoking or nicotine gum. Too much and I even get geeked out like nicotine.
ALCAR Cocktail twice a day (still looking around for a source better than Vitamin World)
250 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid
2,000 mg L-Carnitine
I know people who can't tolerate this much L-Carnitine -- they claim it makes them "over wound". Even some heavy duty body builders. I can take twice this and really notice nothing other than I tend to be a little warmer. There are clinical trials under way at this dosage to see if the effects on memory, performance, increased mitochondrial efficiency and decreased mitochondrial damage are the same in humans as in rats.

Mono sucks. Damaged my liver. Had me coughing up blood.
Had strep six times (confirmed) and apparently encephalitis too during that time too. I was tested for just about everything BUT encephalitis at the time (lukemia, lupus, you name it) because the doc just couldn't believe mono was doing all that.
For depression, there is also SAM-e, another supplement. You can get it reasonably cheap at most warehouse clubs, and when it goes on sale at drug stores. I know folks who take as much as 2 grams a day (though they seem a bit punchy to me after a mega dose... sort of Robin Williams like, if you get my drift).
My dad takes a much smaller dose for arthritis, and swears by it.
But the best part is that there is actually some real science behind it... it has be prescribed in Europe for both uses, I am told, for years.

((Judith_Shakespeare))
From what I can tell, grad students aren't supposed to have lives. My first semester (Statistics MS/PhD program), our department head said, "I expect at least fifty hours a week of work from you." Most of us were way more than that. I would come in at 9 or 10am and not leave until 1 or 2am, every day. Plus 8-10 hours a day on weekends. It wasn't all work, but they were really long days. 80+ hours per week easy.
Now I don't do nearly that much, because I completely burned out after a year. But I know how you feel. You'll get through it. Remind yourself that you love what you're doing, even if you hate it.
It also helps to get off of caffeine if you drink a lot of it. I drastically reduced my caffeine intake and while I did get headaches for a few days coming down, afterward I had a lot more energy.
Darth Buddha
11-04-2003, 01:32 PM
Good point on the caffeine.
If you can't go cold turkey, at least limit yourself to no caffeine after noon or so... that way it isn't frelling with your sleep.

This should sum up my veiw of my experience of college:
College is to Farscape as High School is to Tremors.
generic_screenname
11-04-2003, 01:34 PM
To further illustrate this (and pad my post count) here is my bio from classmates.com:
I hated High School. I lived day to day hoping to maybe get hit by a bus. Then I went to college, and everything changed. College was amazing! Everyone was really nice and classes were only like every other day. I met a bunch of cool people and can honestly say there was never a dull moment. The same time every day this homeless guy would ride his tricycle down the street, yelling "Huh! Huh! Huh!" We got a new dean just about every semester and I actually saw a computer explode. It was great.
I still manage to get myself into the weirdest situations, but I guess that's part of what makes life fun. Maybe if I figured that out earlier I would've enjoyed High School more. Or maybe that kind of enlightenment can only come from waking up in really, really strange places.
I got an internship in Boston at a small graphic design firm. At first I had to do a lot of grunt work, making deliveries, buying toilet paper and women's shoes(no kidding, pink $80 freakin' women's shoes!) and walking Saul the Jewish Dog. I tried to quit about five times; we even had a going away party, and then my replacement quit after only two hours and I don't know what happened. I finally gave in, so I guess I work there full time now.

:Sigh: I miss my college days. 10+ hours a day in class or lab. It got so bad that the phrase "a really tall cow" was hilarous. I'd give almost anything to be able to go back. I didn't get REALLY stressed out until I took two semesters of Organic Chemistry. You know it's bad when you get your final exam on the first day of class!
High School wasn't so bad for me. 99% of my classes through all four years were with the same people. You might not think this odd, but my graduating class had almost 200 people in it. I was in all the advanced classes, and we all kind of stuck it out together.

g_s, I loved college too. Grad school isn't bad, but it's a different animal. Anyone who goes into grad school thinking it will be like college is in for a hell of a wakeup call. I took a class called "extraterrestrial life" where we talked about other planets, that was actually really fun. There was a girl in my remote sensing class that was doing a project using remote sensing on Mars. I think that actually sounds like fun.
I, however, am retarded and thought environmental engineering sounded like a good idea. HA! Actually, I do like it, it's just really hard (chemistry is my worst subject, and this is very much a chemistry discipline). In fact, I'm supposed to be leaving to go meet my chemistry study group so we can get this week's homework done!

You are so right...
The B-100 I mentioned is a high potency B-Vitamin mix. Time release is key on this stuff, or all you do is piss bright yellow for two hours, and then it is gone.
On the OTHER hand, if you ALSO take Zinc (which will make your whizz blue) you can get a really funky green effect!
Body chemistry aside, there's Vitamin E. I'm an idiot to forget that... I personally take 800 I.U. of mixed tocopherols.. that's not just one isomer of Vitamin E, but the full spectrum.
Brings to mind the Beta Carotene thing where some studies show an effect and others don't... IF you take beta carotene, definitely pay the extra for the mixed carotenoids (that includes the "sight vitamin" lutein, I believe).

Sorry...I got my BA in lit last year. Can't find a job...not anywhere. Not in my field, not as a waitress, not anything.
Once I get my MFA degree, I'm gonna get a vet tech degree so I can actually support myself. (Plus, that way, I can have two careers I love).
Although my plan on getting a masters degree, then following up with a community college degree really baffles my highly educated parents. Hey...I can't help it if there are TWO things in my life that I would love doing...writing and working with animals...I could never pick just one.

Where do you work with animals? I work at our local animal shelter. I love to spend time with the animals and the people there - it gives me such a nice break from the super-technical and very mind-numbingness of school. Sometimes I think I should give up this whole grad-school thing and just work at the shelter full time...

I don't work at one yet. I volunteer at a totally volunteer run no-kill shelter. When I get my masters, I want to get a degree in vet tech, so I can get a career working with shelter animals. I don't care if it doesn't pay a lot...it would be worth it in job satisfaction.

I do pet adoption counseling, as well as PR stuff for the shelter. We are blessed in that it is a fairly large shelter, so we have alot of really great programs. My particular specialty is the Pet Care Cruiser, a trailer that has been renovated to be a mobile pet adoption unit- we go around town to different locations and interact with the public. We usually take 6 or 7 animals out with us that we can adopt right off the Cruiser! In addition to that, I have a lot of fun doing fund-raising activites, an integral part of any shelter, no matter what their financial status is. Our shelter isn't strictly no-kill, we do euthanise under very specific circumstances, but we have been able to place 100% of our adoptable animals since 1996 (meaning that we don't euthanise for lack of space, we keep them until they get adopted). Right now I am working there in a volunteer capacity, but sometimes I think I would rather work there as a full-blown employee than go to school to be an engineer!

I don't really judge shelters that have to euthanize animals. I see that fact as a societal problem: some shelters will always have to euthanize animals until people learn to take proper responsibility for them. There are just too many stray animals, and not enough space. I think the Arizona Humane Society is somewhat like your organization in that way...they aren't strictly no-kill, but they haven't had to euthanize an adoptable animal for fourteen months. I would work for them in a heartbeat. I plan to get training in adoption counseling at my organization and then apply to the AZ Humane Society, or AAWL, which are our two shelters well funded enough that they CAN pay for these positions. Of course...I would still volunteer at the place I'm at now..I'm really attached to them.

It's been my experience that the Humane Society will take just about anyone who wants to volunteer. My shelter is the Humane Society of Boulder Valley, when I started working there I had very little experience with shelter animals (I had worked at a vet clinic in high school), but they trained me to the point that I now drive the Cruiser. It'a a completely volunteer-driven operation, with a few staff members that help with setting up contacts and such. But only volunteers actually take it out into the community or to special events. Sometimes I am amazed at the faith they put into us! Most of the people that want to volunteer at the Humane Society are kids that want to spend time with animals. I'm sure they'll be grateful to have someone with the experience that you have. In fact, the summer before last (when we were having all those fires) the Humane Society of the United States actually voluteered to fly me (all expenses paid) to Durango to help out there. But I chickened out when they sprung it on my so un-expectedly.....I'm still kicking myself for that! :headbang:

I forgot how much I hated homework until I went back to school. I take classes from a community college 6 hrs away. Most of my classes I take online, but I have had to take a couple as telecourses. Those sucked big-time! I like online classes, because I can work on them in the wee hours of the night (morning?), during free times at work, etc. There's no way I could fit traditional classes into my schedule. I work full-time, and I homeschool my nephew. Plus, in January I start again as a high school speech judge, so I will have even less free time.
My problem now is that my college doesn't offer an online math class, which is a prerequisite for several of my classes. I've looked all over in NE and some in WY or CO, but no luck. There isn't a college close enough to take a course on campus, so I'm still not sure what I'll do. To top it all off, my advisor is a moron. She never has a clue what classes I still need to take, forgets to register me in classes, signs me up for things I've already taken, etc. I was better off before I declared a major! :irate:

My undergrad advisor was a bit absentminded too- I was constantly reminding him about things we had already discussed. But he always came through in the end. I'm suprised your advisor signs you up for class- everywhere I've ever gone it was the student's responsibilty to do that. I'de be pissed if I got signed up for a class without my knowledge!
On a lighter note- I figured out a really hard chemistry problem today all on my own that other people had to go to office hours to get! I'm feeling pretty damn smart right now (which is a nice change from the usual feeling of retardedness) :charge:

My undergrad advisor is the reason I graduated college. My school is SO beaureaucratic, and I took a lot of independant study classes so I could focus more on creative writing. She totally knew how to make the system work in a student's advantage.

After the last Spring Semester ended, my advisor was supposed to contact me about soem things that I was to help him with over the summer that would go for my minor. As things go, he went out of town after the semester was overand I sent him an email asking what the situation was. He emailed me back that he would be getting back to me about the work that I had to do and guess what, he never got back to me.

Ooh...college rant zone...ehm, lemme see...
Actually, I've not encountered many problems here aside from the horrible course availibility. I'm a sophomore (technically a junior next semester), and already I'm having increased difficulty fitting in the classes I need. I was ahead of the game with AP credits, but I'll be lucky to graduate in four years with my double major and minor. So far I've taken a full load every semester (i.e. 18 credit hours), which has me running around much of the day, but I want to take advantage of the international study program in London, where they don't offer as many credit hours. I'm thinking summer classes will be necessary if I don't want to be a student my entire life. Has anyone here attended law school? I'd like to know what I've gotten myself into.

I am majoring in Business Administration with a focus in marketing. It's not exactly my top interest, but I am an office manager in a law firm, and my boss thought it would be the best way to go. He is paying my tuition, so I told him I would let him suggest what he thought was the best. Little did I know he would choose this! Just when I thought I was going to finish school some time this century, he mentions the other day that maybe I would be interested in taking some real estate classes and getting my broker's license (our office also runs an abstract company and a real estate company)! I may never get out of school! I've taken all the halfway interesting classes, so now I'm down to the really boring ones.
Eta, I'm not sure why she does it that way. Maybe it's because I'm six hours away, and she thinks I won't do it right online or something. I had actually registered for classes one quarter, and she changed them to what she thought I needed more! I was not pleased! Plus, she is not helpful in finding certain classes I need or being accommodating at all. I think she was assigned this position and isn't getting paid any extra for it!

Sorry about your problems with your advisor, trnamick... but it sounds familiar.
I've had multiple advisors...
One for my philo degreee.... (dud)
One for my psych degree... (ego-maniac)

And now a graduate school advisor.
Except for the chem advisor, I would have been better off on my own, all cases.

Buddha, that is some serious schooling! I did math and computer science double degree in undergrad and have moved on to statistics. However my thesis research will most likely involve intelligent tutors and mathematical/computational models of human thought; thus, much working with cognitive psychologists. Although I currently know zero about psych.

Yeah, that's the eternal question, isn't it? I'm not 100% sure, but right now I'm going to focus on the "sight charicterization and remediation" track. This would involve cleaning up contaminated sites (ie: acid mine drainage, agricultural runoff, bioremediation, etc). Alot of people at my school are actually there because they have an excellent wastewater treatment program. I never really thought about wastewater treatment before. Now I have already learned WAY more then I ever wanted to know about it.... I had no idea how complicated it is!
Ultimately, I don't really know what I want to do. An environmental consulting firm, or maybe the EPA or BLM, or then there could be some really cool things to do with the UN, I don't know. I just want to do something that isn't boring and helps people :)
Hmmmm. With an MFA in fiction and a vet tech license, maybe you will work at a vet clinic (or animal shelter) and write books in your spare time? That would be cool. Or you could probably do a bang-up job creating PR stuff for the shelter!

Ha ha ha ha! I feel like that when I'm looking at graphs sometimes too. Sometimes it seems like my chem prof forgets that we don't know all the stuff he does- like it makes sense if you know it already, but if you don't then you get confused.
Maybe you should re-evaluate the whole "letting the boss decide my classes" thing.... I mean, that's a really sweet deal you have there, but if you're not happy, is it worth it? Maybe your boss wouldn't mind it if you wanted to pursue something else? The least you can do is try.

Working at an animal shelter and writing would be my ideal life...that's what I'm planning on. I am also taking a class on writing for non profit organizations, but I am finding...between my class and volunteering at the shelter, that I would rather work hands on with animals, than writing grants or something. Not that I'm knocking people who DO make a living that way....it's very important...but I just don't think it would make me happy. When I work with animals I want to be able to give them all hugs, and when I write, I want it to be fiction. :D

How long is 700 words? It seems like alot for just one question. I remember having to write 15-minimum pages for papers before....I hated that. I'm a very concise writer, and I used to have trouble filling up enough pages. And if I do decide to include enough stuff to fill up that entire amount it seems like it takes forever to get through it all. Makes me terrified of doing a thesis....

The hardest thing for me was to get used to "technical" writing, as opposed to pursuasive writing (as I was used to from things like philosophy). It is so dry, it almost hurts to write it. I usually end up spicing mine up so I don't go insane trying to finish it! I never wrote any really long papers until I was almost finished with my bachelor's.... I think the longest paper I've written is 16 pages. There were so many citations in that paper it took me almost two hours to do the works cited page!

Sooooo.... I just had my second chemistry exam today, and well, I don't know what to say. He pretty much told us exactly what to study, what kind of problems there would be (there were only 2), and expected everyone to get 100%. This is a complete 180 from the first exam, where he said nobody would get 100% (because he wanted to test how much we knew, and if someone got 100% then he wouldn't be testing the extent of their knowledge). So, the first question was fine, some graphs that I think everybody knew how to make. But the second question. Oh the second question. I don't know what happened....I know I can do it, I am sure of that, my prof even said he knew I knew it. But for some reason NOBODY got the answer right. NOBODY! And he thought we would all get 100%! A bunch of us went to his office after the test, where he worked out the problem for us. And as he did it, you could just feel the collective "...oh..." as we all saw what we were supposed to do. I stayed afterward (because I'm the TA, we needed to "discuss" some stuff) and he was asking me what I thought was happeneing. Because, obviously if everyone gets it wrong it means he's not conveying something properly. I think I would have figured it out, given enough time. I'm baffled. Makes me feel retarded. But I'm not freaked out about not passing, since everybody else got it wrong too and he can't fail everybody :dunno:

I'm in a department called Communication and Culture. It's a mix of rhetoric (the study of persuasion in public address and public culture), film and media studies, and ethnography and performance studies (the study of various groups and cultures, usually by someone who both observes and participates in another culture). I focus mostly on rhetoric and media studies.
Our big annual convention for the Communication field is coming up next week, and so far, I've been asked to do four preliminary interviews for jobs. So I'm very excited--and even more anxious to get the dissertation done in a timely manner!

Hmmmm.... well, it is videotaped, perhaps you could have some cue-cards (sp?) that would be off camera? You wouldn't want to read them, obviously, but if you practiced a few times before you tape it and then have the cards to look at you would probably be ok. I think people on tv do it all the time....

Ooh, good idea - I'll tape them up on the walls, so that it looks like I'm casually looking at various focal points, rather than staring at one spot for cue cards - I like it, I like it! Actually, I'm supposed to be writing the rest of it right now, but I have BSer's block and I can't think of anything else to ramble about!

Well, it's nearing the end of the semester for me. I have a 700 word paper due by tonight that I haven't started. I have no idea what I'm going to do it on (it has to be one of our assigned readings) and I don't really care. I've got raking to do...and TV to watch. It's not due til midnight. I'll wait till later. :D

by the way... welcome pathfinder... :rollin:
I'm still trying to figure out how to afford to go back for a PHd. in history... the downside is I have taken a lot of Programming courses for professional types, so I am STILL burnt on school. OI, it suck to get sent by work to learn a language. They assume you are an 'expert' after a week, because that's what the liturature says...
"I need that website by COB today." 'Um, that would be the one you STILL haven't given me requirements on?' "Figure it out YOU'RE THE EXPERT"

so either you're the worlds fastest typist... or the paper isn't worth much...
I had one once that was worth very little, so I just took the zero - I was too busy with other stuff...
and the bastard gave me an INCOMPLETE. Then he gave me D- on the paper I slaved to make frelling fantastic... He had the cajones to tell me I'd never amount to anything [not ment as a rough kick in the pants to do better]...
I looked him in the eye and said "why should I, you never have!?!"
heh, was kind of a Punk when I was younger...

Well, we have had three essays due so far. The first one I forgot about until 9:30 the night it was due. I rushed through it and finished by about 11:45. My prof told me how well-thought-out it was, and she could tell I had given it a lot of effort. Riiiggghtt. Anyhoo, the second paper I decided to try a little harder on. Spend a bit more time, a whole day or more. When I got it back, she had made tons of corrections and suggested things I should have put in it, etc. WTF? So this time, I'm gonna go back to microwaving it and hopefully do better. I work better under pressure anyway.

Studying for an exam I have tomorrow..... it sucks because if I do reasonably well on the test (90 or better) and my group does well on our presentation (90 or better) then I have a shot at an A. So I'm totally burnt out from doing all these damn projects, and I want an A, so now I have to work hard so I can (hopefully) do well on this test. If I didn't want the A that bad, I would just settle for a B. I'd have to do pretty bad to get worse than that.
It's just that I've had so much due this week and last, and I still have stuff I have to finish for next week, and I want to do well, so it stresses me out. And I need to find a job, which doesn't help

i'm completing my freshman year of college next week. wow. time flies!
i went through a small slump, but i was lucky to have good classes i actually enjoyed, therefore i never really dreaded going to most of them. a few of them were deadly though. i had an evangelism class that made me so bored i almost cried.

I was so excited about starting college, and I was just as excited a few years later. I wasn't excited about the kids I had to share time with in class. I'm refering to some of them, not all. They irritated me, like bugs. I had to let it go, and I still enjoyed my time overall.
I plan to go back, just as soon as grinner wins the lottery and sponsors the Third Eye must stay in school and learn how to stuff a basketball, make cheese and sew seedless grapes college fund.

The final week of my college career finally starts next week!:woohoo: The only bad thing is that next week is not going to be an easy week for me. I have two portfolios that I need to compile for two of my classes and I have to give a presentation on Monday. I have finals the following week and graduation is on the 15th! Pretty soon, my countdown will finally be to zero!

Although my last ex** is tomorrow, I still have two project papers and a presentation due next week. So I won't technically be done until next Thursday. But after tomorrow, the pressure doesn't rest entirely on my shoulders any more....phew!

:woohoo: Finally! I finished my essay. The prof said final draft had to be in the ballpark of 700, so I figure 665 is close enough. And since my rough draft and final draft were one and the same, no editing! (if it worked for Louis L'Amour, surely it will work for me) :D Of course, I still have two more assignments to finish by midnight, but at least the big one is out of the way!

I'm finished with exams! :woohoo:
Now I'm stuck in Nowhere, NC with nothing to do but pack, and no place to go until after the choir sings at Graduation on Saturday.

YAY for being done with exams....I've still got 5 weeks left in this quarter, and 3 quarters left after this one....so I'll finally graduate next spring....AND I can't wait....I've been at my school for entirely too long, and I'm ready to be done.
I'm seriously burnt out on school in the worst possible way right now... we have two weeks left and I have my whole year-long research project due Wednesday after next (of which parts are written and parts are not, gotta refine the lit review and the discussion section) and a psychodiagnostic assessment, which is late but  and a multiple choice final next week...
I want to write a very long letter to my school requesting that they think about changing their terms into quarters instead of semesters, because I'd rather have 10 week courses than 15/16 week courses and have the year split into 3 rather than 2... whatever...
thank goodness once this semester is done I have a month and a half off...

Yeah, I'm getting tired too. I've got a paper due Tuesday and a project presentation/paper due Thursday. And then I'm done! But I start again the following week with OSHA training and summer school. Blech.
Oh, and I have an interview on Wedesday :D I'm super excited, but super scared too...

Part of my classes are semester and part are quarter, so it's difficult keeping them straight. I have some classes that overlap, so occasionally I hit panic mode, trying to get all my assignments done, and then I realize that class has several weeks yet to go! Right now, I'm taking my math requirements as a correspondence course, since the college didn't offer it online. I'm trying to get it done by the time my semester classes end, so I can get in the classes for next semester that have a math prerequisite. I had forgotten how much I hated homework until I started all this, but it comes back to you quickly! Blech!
