As the first official social event of the Southeast Scapers, I can tell you our Kansas-themed Halloween Party was great fun although not as highly attended as we would have liked
We booked a room (at an unbelievably great rate because of connections) at the local Elks lodge. When I got there (late from carving my Aeryn pumpkin (see this thread for pics of my pumpkins http://www.savefarscape.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=264273) Susan and her mother and friend had already set up most everything. The room was GREAT! Easily big enough for 50-75 people with an outside porch, a full bar, a little stage-like area, and a humungous TV :D

Susan had placed signs on the bar saying "Lomo Bar" and quoting the price of fellip nectar. And Susan's mom and her friend had laid out a great feast. They had taken care of the normal food and several of us brought "alien" dishes (see my congealed budong below -- it was yummy!)

I helped Susan finish getting ready and then she went to put the finishing touches on her costume. By the time she came back, she had been transformed into an adorable pilot and she took up her position behind the bar (shades of "Won't Get Fooled Again")

We were all set and just waiting for the onslaught of happy Scapers.
A couple of our regular group showed up right on time and we all stood around for a while. Slowly a few more found there way to the party, until eventually we had 9 people. Most were core members, but we had 1 who joined us at DragonCon, 1 who joined last month after I met her at the Farscape Meetup, and 1 completely new person who I believe found out about us at Collector Con a couple of weeks ago. So we are growing, if only by 1 person per month. :D
All together, there were 5 of us in costume.
Niki (our professional costumer) did a spectacular Peacekeeper uniform. (She's going to be holding costume workshops for us so we can all get into costume for DragonCon 2004!)
Susan as Pilot
Lisa as the Delvian who messes with John's mind in Rhapsody in Blue
Me as the giant DRD
and Amanda (who got there after we had taken our group pics) as a fabulous Katralla (check out her official statue pose).

The costume contest was judged by applause and since everyone got the same thunderous ovation we gave out 4 first places! (I didn't participate since the others had put actual effort into their costumes and I only threw on a poncho and ordered a 2-headed flashlight online.)
We also had a trivia contest which (very surprisingly) I managed to win (mostly because I was the loudest and most insistent with my "ooh, ooh, I know, I know" (picture Horshack on Welcome Back Kotter).
We had a pumpkin contest, but since I'm the only one who brought pumpkins, I kind of had an unfair advantage in that one. In any event, people ranked the pumpkins: 1. Scorpy (cause he's the scariest), 2. Aeryn, and 3. the Rygel mini-gourd.
We also ate (way too much because there was sooooo much food and so few people) and drank, and watched Premiere and DNA Mad Scientist on the enormous tv. We also listened to some great Farscape music put together by Tigger (who was unable to make it :( ).
Finally, we had a raffle. Between the 9 of us, we had 12 bucks in the kitty! :rollin: Niki won and graciously donated all the proceeds (it was a win half the pot raffle) to the cause.
We ended up in the red for the event, but we had a great time! :D
