When will season three box set be available? Next month or further out like next Spring? I just finished season 2 and can't wait too long! I might have to buy them individually!

Well, the pessimist in me says about a year from when the Season 2 box set came out because ADV doesn't seem to be in any hurry and wants us to buy all the individual volumes first.
Other than that, I don't know.

I don't think anybody knows for sure. I would probably say spring or beyond since there haven't been any announcements made of a Season 3 box set. If you can't wait. I would recommend buying them individually.

Does ADV's ploy work? Does anyone here buy the set after they have them all individualy first? What would be the point of that; I mean it's a nice box and all, but hardly worth one-hundred and XX dollars ($165 here in Canada).
But then agian, I'm going crazy because I figured I could wait for the S2 set and even got my Aunt in Arkansa <sp?> to order it (since it wouldn't ship internationaly) so now I've got to wait for Thanksgiving to go there and pick it up. <sigh> Why do you Yanks have to celebrate it so late in the year anyway?

Whether it works or not depends heavily on whether or not there is any significant new content added to the box set. I have all the individual region 1 DVD's released so far, so I haven't got the box sets. If they released the season 4 box set now instead of after the individual DVD's, I would get it, since it is usually cheaper to get the entire set as opposed to episodes piecemeal.
It is a common ploy of movie studies to release the movies of trilogy individually then add additonal footage or more extras when the entire trilogy is released as a box set. I assume it does work because they keep doing it. They are in it for the money afterall.
I did not buy the extra special version of SciFi's Dune mini-series because I had already bought the regular version as soon as it came out and I wasn't sure what extra was included to make it the extra special version. So it doesn't always work. On the other hand, I have been buying the extended version LOTR DVD's and I am guessing after all three LOTR movies have been released they will release a combined set with yet more additional footage. They may get me on that one if the additional scenes are significant.

Well, I started out waiting for the season box set because I thought there might be additional footage. Now I'm only still buying the sets because I started buying the sets and I have to stick to the pattern. It's driving me crazy, though! I want them all!
By the way, I did purchase the Director's Edition of Sci Fi's DUNE, and it was well worth it. The full version is so much better. Then again, it's my favorite movie. (It's weird that a channel I hate so much gave me my favorite movie AND my favorite show.) I've been holding off on Children of DUNE, because I keep expecting them to release an extended version of IT, but it's not happening. Argh.

I'm stuck with waiting for the sets because of the price decrease. Really can't afford to buy the individual volumes right now.

For these of you with multiregional DVD players it's worth to take a look at Region 2 Season 2 Boxset (released November 3rd) - it contains THREE more episodes commentaries than you got from ADV. These three (MTB with Lani Tupu, Andrew Prowse and David Kemper, WGFA with Rowan Woods and David Kemper and DMD with Rowan Woods and David Kemper) are from Australian Season 2 release and Contender UK did really wonderful job including them into their Season 2 Boxset.

Doesn't work on this skinflint... and the fact that I got it for well UNDER $100 from Deep Discount DVD makes that all the sweeter.
