View Full Version : Everything I know, I learned from Farscape.

I was thinking of something that someone had said to me yesterday. He said, "You have a lot more patience than you did when I first met you a couple of years ago. Hell, you now are a lot more patient than anyone I know...."

I realized, and I know how this is going to sound, that I learned a lot about patience from Farscape. Scorpy is a villian I really like, and one of the things that make him special is his patience. He knows how to just barely nudge a plan along so that he eventually gets his way.

I didn't realize it, but I had been doing that on several things in my life lately. I actually applied this technique and, though it may have taken quite a while for it to happen, I eventually got what I wanted. My friend made the comment when I achieved my goal.

I really wasn't that patient of a guy, until Scorpy.

I know this sounds waaay to much like show worshiping, but this is a realization I had today, and I was just wondering if anyone here really learned something from this show as well.

Or am I just frelled in the head? :)

Way to go jfranka! :) (And we are all frelled in the head!)

I have learned that I better stay away from red headed aliens. My precious Syl might try to poison me otherwise...She watches Forensic detectives and FBI files every night.....Kinda' scary! :eek2:

Whoa, I LOVE Forensic detectives and FBI files, that's my shameful Thursday night treat! :)

What I learned from Farscape is to be more tolerant towards people, regardless of their background or intelligence. I have learned there is no such thing as lesser species or people, that no matter how strange and alien somebody's choices or lifestyle may be, they have their reasons for that and I need to respect them.

I've learned to look up at the stars with more awe. I used to take them for granted. Kind of like oh sure, I'll look at them some day, not now, though, I'm too busy. They'll always be there for later when I have the time. And I'm WAAAAY more interested in the various space programs, and in science in general.

Don't point guns at people

never get off the boat

Be nice to crazy people because they always get written back in.

I think Farscape taught me the value of hope. Hope i think is one of hte most precious things we have, and its easy to give up on it. Easy to jusy say fuck it all. But if we still have hope in something...people, God, what have you we can go on and do great things. I try to remind myself of this often.

I suppose it also taught me the value of friendships and love, but I learned those from Real Life a bit more than Farscape:). Farscape just showed so much wonder because of hte supreme caring and the amount they will go thru for eachother.

The greatest thing i really saw in it was that in life you cant always take the easy answers. Sometimes you will be forced to take a decisiion that is gut wrenching and is painful for you. but that is the path you are alotted and w eneed to move into that path with the greatest of spirits. Anyone else see that?

Your not frelled!!! It simly means that the cast and crew of Farscape succeed in conveying something more than just entertainment. You took a virtue used by a darker character and applied it to you life. We do that all the time when we watch others, or our friends or family members. We try to adopt the traits we find desireable. You have just paid the Farscape cast and crew a Frelling Big Compliment!!!!!!!!!!

I've learned the value of a well-phrased letter. :D And patience. I'm with you there on that one, jfranka!
