Hi y'all
I'm not new to this site (nor to the best show on TV EVER!) but I am trying to find ways to contact Scapers in South Africa. We've only had the first season broadcast here - the remainder of my addiction has been serviced by a local video store. If anyone stumbles across any SA's (or is one), please get in contact - would love some group viewings or even just a virtual coffee. (my cat is quite tired of hearing about the show - after all, from his point of view - there are no felines, PK or otherwise, in it!)
Looking forward to hearing from you .... (hope springs eternal..)
SK

Sarah -

How did you hear about Farscape, and where/when was it broadcast in SA?

Inquiring minds want to know...

Aiiee, caramba! I can't help you. Checking our "Known Spaces" Forums, I can see nothing outside of the Americas, Europe, and the Antipodes.

PM one of the forum moderators, and ask them to put up forums for the rest of the world. (Sheesh! High time, too, I say!)

Other than that, I can't think of much more to suggest. You could post over on other major Farscape boards:
BBC Cult TV's Farscape Board
Kansas
SciFi's Farscape Board
SadGeezer's website
Farscape World
I would bet that our Farscape Links forum has a lot of links for Farscape BBs:

and you could also try a search on the term "Farscape", "Scaper", and/or "Scape" at YahooGroups.

Anyway, I'm GLAD to hear that Farscape is being broadcast in South Africa! Is your television commercial TV (as in the US) or state sponsored (as in the UK)?? Can you tell what sort of audience the show has??

I discovered Farscape when it FIRST aired in the States on Sciffy channel - was living in NYC at the time - Fall of '99 as I recall. Needless to say, was immediately hooked!
I then returned to SA before Season 1 ended and resigned myself to Farscape oblivion. Desperate for a fix, I found a local video store that had a huge stock of Sci-Fi, including Voyager. In search of the final travels of Janeway and Crew, I took a drive, then nearly had kissed the surprised vid store clerk when I discovered that they had Farscape as well. (Janeway etc had to take a back seat while I caught up with news from the Uncharted T's!)
SABC (SA Broadcasting Corp - our local equivalent of the BBC, but not as good) then broadcast the first season about 2 years ago and then, frustratingly, haven't bothered about the next seasons.
That is the short potted history of this SA Scaper.
Thanks for your replies - will keep on hunting for the elusive SA Scaper!

I sympathize with your cat. I too think that felines would make a great addition to Farscape.

Good luck in your search, and welcome to the board!

I sometimes suspect that Chiana has some feline DNA, (or the Nebari equivalent) but most of the time I reckon that Chi has arachnid roots, or elements thereof.
haven't figured out Luxon physiology and am STILL waiting for the mystery to be solved of how the Sebaceans look so similar to, and genetically compatible with, the naked ape of a small, insignificant blue planet from the unfashionable arm of the galaxy.
