BUDAPEST - Police on Friday removed the corpse of a man believed to have hanged himself at least a year ago after builders and students at Budapest's University of Arts had initially mistaken it for a modern sculpture.
The body hung for a whole day in a garden building that had been re-opened for repairs before onlookers realized what it was and called the police, local media said.
The building, in campus grounds crowded with different types of sculpture, had been closed five years ago pending reconstruction work.
Ok, you'd think someone would know, after a year. Didn't it stink?

Depending on the time of year and the humidity level in the building, maybe by the time he was found he'd mummified.
Remember the story of the dead outlaw whose corpse had been on the carnival circuit so long & through so many owners that when his arm (or something) broke off, the current owners of the haunted house he was in were shocked to discover he was a REAL corpse?

That is creepy. And sad that no one found him any sooner. I wonder if he was reported missing and if anyone had been looking for him....

Well...wow..that's pretty bad when you can't tell a body from a sculpture.

my only problem is the smell...didnt ANYONE notice it was stinking? weren't there insects, birds, etc. anywhere near it? well after a year you figure all of the skin and muscle was picked off already...

Some people's concept of art is just too far out for me.
I'm not a big NEA fan, either. Symphonies, fine, but the "Piss Christ" was obscene even WITHOUT the religous smear.
