It must be the palaeontologist in me, but I have to chuckle to myself, because every time I see your handle I think it reads: Marella

Marella is the most common fossil found in the Burgess Shale in Canada's Rocky Mountains.

A beautiful fossil, they're believed to be related to trilobites.

Mrelia's name makes me think of my childhood cat, Belvedere, and the noises she used to make while playing. She used to get all charged up and go ripping up and down the hallway and would meow while running, and it would get truncated due to her paws hitting the ground and sounded like "MRAC". My sister and I still say "mrac!" to each other even though Belvie has been dead for over a decade.

It's weird when you look at names quickly. At first, I thought NYPinTA's name had something to do with New York and piņatas.
And PauNthWorlds looked like "Paul the N Word". I thought that was a strange choice of name!

That's what I've always associated with NYPinTA.

What does it actually mean?

Whenever I see NYPinTA's name I think of the Village People. (YMCA) Does that make me a weirdo?

New York Pain in the Ass.

And no, I'm not being a smartass, she mentioned it in some thread somewhere.

of course, "New York" and "Pain in the Ass" together is sort of redundant. Okay, now I'm being a smartass.

Cool! I'm a Trillobite! I wonder if I can find one on eBay?

Fermicat is closest to the truth in the matter, though. I used to have a Siamese cat named Ashley. He'd come up to my window every night & call me. His meowing sounded suspiciously like my actual name, Amelia. I thought it was just my imagination until a friend who was sleeping over one night heard him & said, "Whoa! Your cat can talk!". After that, she started calling me Relia or Mrelia...the rest is history.

You'd be lucky to find a Marella on ebay, as the only locales I know of are in a National Park...
