Motorist with 2DRUNK number plate on drink-drive charge

A New Zealand judge told a motorist with the number plate: '2DRUNK' that he was "just asking" to be stopped.

Judge Stephen O'Driscoll made the comment to Philip William Bain at Dunedin District Court after hearing how he was caught drink driving.

Bain, 33, admitted the offence, says the New Zealand Herald.

He was fined £230, ordered him to pay court costs of £50 and disqualified from driving for six months.



now, i don't know about you but i'm not that stupid!

you think he was drunk when he registered for that license plate?

I'm suprised that he actually was given that plate. I don't think that you would be able to get it in the States

Why not? Maybe we should issue those plates with iterations for repeat offenders...

2DRUNK0001, 2DRUNK0002, etc.

That guy did a public service by identifying himself!

There are some things that you cannot have written your plates. Anything dealing with Alcohol is verboten

Okay, this is kinda OT but how do you find out what plates are already registered?

Go to the DMV website for your State. There typically is a section where you can type in what you want your plate to be... and you can then order it online.

I think as punishment they should force him to change it to "2STUPID".
