By now, most of us have probably exhausted the pool of people we can personally convert with viewing parties, and personal loans of tapes and DVDs (If you haven't, what are you doing sitting here? Get going!!!:whip: ). If the next iteration of Farscape is going to be the smashing success that we all want it to be, we need to have the pre-existing fan base be as large as possible. That means converting people that we don't personally know. We can put out flyers and bookmarks and posters telling people that Farscape exists and how wonderful it is, but we also need to tell them where to find it.

It is perhaps too much to ask someone whose interest has been mildly peeked to buy episodes of a show they've never seen, or to try to track down the odd times that it's actually showing on Sci-Fi.

What we could reasonably ask people to do is to visit their local library :book: and check out the show that way. It's free, it's convenient and the more people who check out Farscape DVDs, the more the library is likely to acquire. The problem is that most libraries in the US still don't have any Farscape DVDs on their shelves at all.

To date Scapers have placed 443 DVDs 44 VHS tapes, 16 boxed sets and 25 Farscape books into 88 libraries across the US, Canada and Germany, and that is a wonderful accomplishment , but it only barely scratches the surface. We have only placed materials in half of the top twenty demographic areas. The library project fund currently has $628.60, once we reach $1000.00 we will make the next library project purchase for the Boston, Dallas, Washington DC areas and the Crafton Public Library (librarian request). The Dallas and Washington DC libraries have NO Farscape materials at all. Boston needs more.

No matter who you are, or what your financial situation is, you can help out.

* You can contribute financially to the Library donations portion of the Special projects fund <here> (https://www.paypal.com/xclick/business=jul%40watchfarscape.com&item_name=Save+Farscape.com+Library+Project&tax=0&currency_code=USD)

* You can donate actual DVDs to your local library, even a single copy of the first two episodes will pass through dozens of hands in the next year.
It has also been suggested that donations be made to college and university libraries.

* If your library has Farscape on the shelves, check it out. The more often a DVD is checked out, the more likely the library is to buy more episodes on its own budget. You can also make flyers/bookmarks/posters telling people to check your local library for Farscape.

*If your library does not have any Farscape on it's shelves and you can't afford to fix the situation, ask your librarian for a request form and fill it out, asking them to buy Farscape episodes for you to watch.

We may have to wait a couple more days to get the full scoop on what's going on with Farscape, production-wise, but we can leap into action to make it a success now. :multi:
