Jane is having a 2004 entertainment poll, found at: http://www.demographix.com/surveys/KRMW-BHLT/RBPWWXYV/ Some of the questions are lame and non-related, but others can be appropriately answered with Farscape or Farscape people. (For example, "Which celebrity could make parachute pants look hot?" -Ben, of course!) They also give you an opportunity to rant. :ewink:

My rant, for inspiration...

My biggest beef with television as an industry is the Nielsen rating system. Its formula is amazingly archaic - only 5,100 people determine what shows stay on, and what gets cancelled - and Nielsen has a total monopoly on television ratings. Even media execs, like Alan Wurtzel (president of research at NBC) question the validity of the system. If only a few Nielsen families have the same taste as I, my favorite shows will get cancelled. Case in point: Farscape (if you didn't notice from my write-ins on the poll, it's a favorite.) The SciFi Channel hailed Farscape as their "flagship" show for years, then cancelled it because it lost a few Nielsen households. Five people didn't watch it, and summoned the reaper. I hope network executives will start using data from TiVo and other DVRs to determine viewership. A more accurate sample would increase their revenue, and give us more of what we want.

Luckily, a group of dedicated fans have - after a year of work - brought life back to Farscape. Half of all Farscape viewers were women - are you one of them? :) If not, you must have not seen Ben Browder in leather pants.
