Klingon in Chrichton Kicks [Archive]

StarsGoBlue mentioned it in her Con report:

He did get good questions in return, such as what was his favorite Crichtonism? (The Klingon he shouted in 'Crichton Kicks' which translated means essentially 'get the hell outta here').

And apparently the Klingon-speaking was Ben's idea. But (unlike Crichton) he isn't Klingon-fluent, so he made Ricky Manning search the net for a wav. file of a suitable phrase (to get the pronunciation right).

He also didn't warn Raelee that he was going to suddenly start yelling in Klingon, so the look of surprise on Sikozu's face is for real .. :)

So...John has time to get a PHD and learn a language that doesn't even really exist? Man. Crichton is nerdier than most of us!

Well, it works, because her expression is really appropriate considering John's mental state at the time.

(Just rewatched "Crichton Kicks " a couple hours ago.)

Well, it makes ME feel better about the time I spend on here...not that this is a waste of time...but it's so much more fun than doing homework or chores, that sometimes other things get pushed aside.

It may have been Crichton that uttered the phrase but it was our own dear Ben that thoguht of it ... so who is nerdier??? :D

And I think you mean people with your newly acquired copies of 4.1 should go watch them and stop taunting those of us who are still 4.1 deprived :pace:

Just re-watched the ep again. (Damn! I love my DVD's :) )

I didn't know Ben ad-libed that. You can see Raelee start to jump out of her skin when he started yelling. Then the look on her face was truely "What the hell is he doing?"

Just a great scene made better!!! :)

To Raelee's credit, she stayed in character and allowed them to keep the shot. Wonderful!

I finally got to watch "Crichton Kicks" for the first time...great episode,, and I finally understand the whole thing with 1812 and the other Leviathon.

I was laughing my a## off when he started shouting at them in Klingon...they've always been good about referencing current sci-fi into the story; makes him seem more like any one of us.

I am on a mission right now...i need a new cell phone (just can't afford one) but it has to play the 1812 overture, and I want to color it red/white/blue

I watched this episode today for the first time and wow, my English failed a lot. I even missed the Klingon-Part.:eek: And I had to laugh very hard, when John began with "Okay, my turn. Who, what, when, where, why and how?", because it was absolutley the same I was thinking the whole time. :freak2:
This is the craziest start of a new season (of every single series I know) I have ever seen.
But I know, I will love this season. It is amazing to have the ability to watch it afters years of waiting. But I got it at the right time, years before my English was just crap. :D
