Do you pre-order or do you try your luck?

Ok. Let's pretend that it's Tuesday morning and a new Farscape DVD is being released today. Do you (a) rush to the stores to see which if any has one in stock or (b) relax because you've pre-ordered and it's on its way to your doorstep if you don't already have it in your DVD player?

I fall into the (a) group. I think my life would be less stressfull if I just pre-ordered.

hehehe I really wanted to vote for the third choice, just to mess with ya, stellar, but the little angel on my shoulder made me tell the truth!

I pre-order. But the main reason I pre-order is that it's really the fastest way for me to get them. Where I live there are no Best Buys or any other kind of stores that sell DVDs (other than Walmart & Kmart, and forget those). The closest Best Buy, or other similar store, is 1-1/2 to 2 hour drive.

Boy, this time though......I preordered from Deep Discount DVD, and no 4.01 yet.

I get them a lot cheaper when I just go to best buy. they always have a good farscape selection around here, it's just hard judging the release date vs. when the dvds actually get on the shelves sometimes. I really don't mind for $15 less than the suggested price.

I actually had a similar problem with getting 3.4 (I think it was 3.4). My dad and I when all over the place trying to find them, no one had them. But the werid thing was every place we went said they hadn't recieved the shipments in. It wasn't until two weeks later that anyone had them in. ::shrugs::

I used to pre-order until Amazon started frelling up the delivery times and I wouldn't get it until a week after it came out, if I was lucky. Since then I go to Best Buy the week before release and they have always had it, until this time!!!!!!!

Anyway, I always pre-order because it's the only way I can get the DVDs around where I live. Even the Best Buy around where I live rarely has Farscape DVDs. Deep Discount DVD is the only way to go.

I always pre-order, but recently switched from BestPrices.com to DeepdiscountDVD.com. Still haven't gotten 4.1, however!!

There wasn't an option on the poll for what I do..... which is:

Wait until the Release Day, then go online and use www.dvdpricesearch.com to find the cheapest deal and order it then. I'd go to a retail store if I could (and if the price was as good as online), but I live out in the boonies and there aren't any good stores anywhere near my house.

I sometimes get it from best buy and sometimes i get it from deepdiscount, I ordered it from deepdiscount this time cuz with the extra 20% discount, it brought the price down to $19.19!

I usually pre-order it from my local Suncoast, just because that gives you a discount. I may start using deepdiscount though; the prices people quote around here are much cheaper than suncoast. Unfortunately, there is no Bestbuy or CostCo etc around where I live. The Walmarts and Targets don't tend to carry Farscape reliably, so Suncoast is the only place in town that always has Farscape.

I buy instore, but I'm sure as hell not a slacker. :mad: The few times I pre-ordered, I got the DVDs a bit late. So, it is very worth my time to drive a few miles and get the DVD on the actual release date.

I buy online because I get a discount from Barnes/Noble throught my employer. I order when there's more than one available (free shipping if more than 1 item in the order and you choose to have them delivered together)- so I usually buy one as pre-order, and one that's already out.

I usually pre-order at MediaPlay. Then I can pick it up the very day it's released, and I don't have to wait and wonder when the mail order place will get around to sending it out. There's entirely TOO MUCH waiting around for us Farscape fans, so I buy as soon as I can. Lately, though, I've been slacking and not pre-ordering, and this time I was unable to get one right away.
