Why were the ratings noticably better for the week of November 16th than other weeks? Anything special happen that week?

Farscape had its one and only November daytime rotation on Monday November 10th, but I doubt that it raised Skiffy ratings for the ENTIRE week, at least not in primetime.
The movies did well on Sunday; maybe that raised Taken's ratings. But there was nothing special in Skiffy's line up on Monday (other then Farscape :smokin: ) or Friday. And in fact Skiffy had double digit declines across the board in their weekly averages for this week in primetime, but they had across the board increases in their total day averages (Farscape was on during the day on Monday Nov. 10th so its ratings would be averaged into the total day numbers :smokin: ).
Maybe there was very little competition on other channels on Monday and Friday that week.

Behind on the analysis...
CosmicTheorist, I owe you an apology... I haven't been able to deliver on the stats I wanted early on.
I HAVE found the appropriate model... a random effects model that will assume that each respective week of the year has an intercept (baseline) with a separate distribution that you have to account for first (essentially it will model the ups and downs that seem to repeat from year to year so we can see what trends remain).
That said, I haven't been able to clean up the data sufficiently with end of semester hitting me hard (tough semester, I was sick to my stomach for about a third of it). But I WILL run the model when finals are over.
If you are aware of anybody who has which weeks in that series featured Farscape, SG-1, or one of their major min-series, those would be good terms to have in the model too.

I think the answer to the increases "All Day" ratings is staring us in the face. Many of those movies in that top ten list ran on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, not in Primetime.

There are 4 movies in this top 10 list that were shown in the day time on Saturday and Sunday: Deadly Swarm at 3 pm Saturday, Bugs at 5pm Sat., Lost Voyage at 3 pm Sunday, and The Haunted at 5 pm Sun. The sum of these 4 movies ratings is 4.3. These 4 movies could explain some of the total day ratings increases.
To test this hypothesis, I checked the weekly averages for the previous week in November, the week ending on November 9th, and its top 10 list. For the week ending November 9th, there were 5 movies on Saturday and Sunday that were shown during the day: on Saturday there were Robin Cook's Invasion Part 2 at 1 pm, Species at 3 pm, Species 2 at 5 pm, and on Sunday there were Unforgettable at noon, and Meet Joe Black at 4 pm. The sum of these 5 movies ratings was 5.3. The weekly averages for this week in total day had an increase in its household ratings, but a decline in its 25-54 demographic viewers; Skiffy didn't make it into the top 10 for the 18-49 demographic in total day for this week.
Based on these 2 weeks, it looks like the weekend movies can account for increases in the total day household ratings, but they DO NOT explain the increases in the 18-49 and 25-54 demographics for the week ending November 16. The 18-49 demo is Farscape's strong suit, so it looks like Farscape's daytime rotation may have had a measurable effect too.
Darth, no need to apologize. Just stay healthy and ace your finals. These ratings analyses can wait. I can get you the dates for every first run and repeat Farscape episode, every SG1 episode, and every mini-series, movie, or special event you'd like to keep track of in this data. Just let me know what format you need.
Good luck with your classes!

Unfortunately, not. There's nothing measurably different about Farscape daytime ratings from other programs they are airing. In fact, they are the same as Buck Rogers'.
