View Full Version : Commander Crichton?
Okay, maybe I missed something... I'm working through the episodes from the start.
I just reached episode 3x03 (first part of the Self-Inflicted Wounds two-parter)... and it hard when I noticed Pilot was called Crichton "Commander" all the time!
When did this start? Did I miss something?

Someplace near the start.
There was another thread on this... on how John could be an IASA pilot and still not be "military" and yet have the rank of commander.
My own suggestion was that he was a commander in NOAA (National Oceanographic & Atmospheric Administration), which is technically a branch of the navy, issues ranks in the same structure as the navy (hence commander is a legitimate rank) and would give him the opportunity to both be a pilot (maybe he was one of those lunatics flying high atmospheric experiments in U2 and SR-71's after they were decomissioned from active military service).
This would give him an avenue into NASA/IASA.

He says it in Premier when Aeryn asks for his rank and regiment (politely of course). :)
