Sydney Daily Telegraph Ad Fund Update 12/12/03- we've met our goal!!

Hi all!!

Sorry you haven't received the project total update today till now.. I'm studying for a final tomorrow, so it made me a tad late. Anyways... fabulous news and a tiny bit of challenging news...

Absolutely fabulous news, and something we all already know, is that Scapers ROCK!!! You have raised, in approx. 24 hours, over $2178. That brings our total up to $5870. :joy:

Here's the little bit of challenging news. Today's exchange rate (as supplied by our friends at http://www.xe.com) puts our original estimate a little short. Instead of $6670 US Dollars, it looks like we'll need a little over $6700 to make the $9115 Australian Dollars it will cost to pay for the ad.

This means the total remaining before we make our goal to pay for our ad is $830.

Jul, this made me laugh, because I can remember Claudia saying once that the exchange rate deal was sometimes a problem for the show, too. Something along the lines of, one day they'd be able to do something, and the next day, the exchange rate would change, and they couldn't afford it!

So, see, this only makes this little challenge true Farscape! ;)

Anyway, I'm glad to see that Scapers are rising to the challenge so amazingly! :aok:

OK Scapers, after talking with fund goddess Jul, she says that the exchange rate will make it around $6,720. in US dollars so all that is left to collect is

$110.

Rock on Scapers!!! Way to go!! Never in our wildest dreams did I think that all of the monies would be collected six days before it was due!!!!

We thank each and every one of you that donated and especally those who wanted to but couldn't. We knew it was the holiday season and monies would be tight. Each of us is a part of this project in spirit, donation or not. :hugz:

")somewhere in season 3 or 4, it's an expression commonly used in the U.S. and in Oz and so less likely to seem (to newcomers) fringey or an exclusive sort of in-joke, and it's been used here on the board since early-on as a very specific expression of joy, success and solidarity.

It has meaning beyond just the two words.

BTW I send money home regularly.
The exchange rate is always more favorable for the US dollar on Tuesday or Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday it favors the Aussie dollar.
