I've been wanting to try Chambord: partly because it sounds like it has the potential to be good, and partly because it comes in a really purty bottle.:D But I have a couple questions about it:
I know it's raspberry flavor, which sounds like it could be either good or bad. I don't want to buy it if it's too sweet like...well...Pucker just grosses me out. So what's it like?
What is it usually mixed with? Do people ever drink it straight?

Do they sell it in mini-bottles? If so, buy one of those and give'r a try before you buy. Either that or get a shot of it in your local watering hole...

You know what I just realized?
I'm 23 and haven't gone to a bar since I was underage. Weird. I should find a local watering hole.

A good drink mix w/ chambord are Chambord sours. I've enjoyed them. It is a raspberry liquour, so it can be sweet - the sour tends to counter that.
Try it at the bar first. Good luck :beergood:

It's pretty sweet. I put it in hot chocolate (I think that's called a Black Forest at TGIFriday's). I've also served it over french vanilla or homemade vanilla ice cream. I've never really had it with anything else.

I used to drink Zima with Chambord in it. Was pretty good that way.

Fermicat: Zima?
My impression of Zima is that it's like pot. People try it to see what the hype is and to say that they've tried it. I really believe that's where zima gets 95% percent of its sales.

Had that been the case, the title of the thread would have been, "No, YOU'VE had too much!".

I guess what I mean by too sweet is:
Is it sweet to the point that it's clear that it's made for 19 year old girls who can't handle the taste of alcohol?
Or is it dignified sweet, like Baileys or amaretto?
